italianchef
This is a hypothetical question. We all know that Hanna-Barbera Land will disappear at the end of the season and be replaced by an enlarged Nickelodeon Central. What if Paramounts Parks decided to return Kings Island to the way it was back in 1972 and got rid of Nickelodeon Central and enlarged Hanna-Barbera Land? Let's say Rugrats Runaway Reptar would be re-themed as The Powerpuff girls, Wild Thornberry's River Adventure would be re-themed as Scooby Doo and Zombie Island, and a Hanna-Barbera parade would replace the Nickelodeon parade. Do you think overall park attendance would go up, down, or remain constant? Have a great day! Italian Chef
Gordon Bombay
It would probably remain the same, maybe go up a little because it would be all renovated and have a good reputation. I think the Nick Central expansion, if it happens, will bring in a lot of people.
bdboy007
Nickelodeon is the reason my kids want to go to PKI all the time
moore
I like HB land characters better than Nick, but I have to agree that kids to come to PKI b/c of the Nick characters.
Gordon Bombay
Trust me, while everyone whines and complains that paramount is getting rid of HB, kids dont watch it like they watch Nick. All the kids I talk to when Im sent to work the HB carousel say. "Thats Scooby, but whos the rest of those guys?' And when I ask them to name the charecters they only know Scooby. Nickelodeon is more popular than old school HB right now, and Nickelodeon will bring in more famlies.
bdboy007
And it is all about the kids, if my kids are happier there then I am happier
Gordon Bombay
Exactly, the main focus is the kids! Yeah, a lot of people love the old HB charecters but kids these days arent watching it. Kids would rather see Spongebob make a Krabby Patty then see Yogi Bear steal a picnic basket.
DeLorean Rider
I dont think many people would decide not to come to the park just because there is more scooby doo than spongebob. Granted there would be a few people, but i dont think the dent would be noticable. Becides in the long run the parents make the decision whether or not to bring their kids, though they have heard of spongebob, they probably remember yogi bear a lot more. Admiral Ackbar
Everybody has pretty much said it already. Kids these days don't have a clue who Boo Boo and Babba Looey are. The HB theming means absolutely NOTHING to them. If you rethemed the rides to Nick - like made Quick Draws Railway into a Dora The Explorer thing somehow - ridership would go WAY up. The same applies for all the other HB rides as well.
BoddaH1994
Ok, so I was born in 1983 so HB was in one of its many primes when I was at that "cartoon watching" age... and I still don't know who many of the characters are. Heck, until this year, I thought a lot of them were just made up. It's time for HB to go.

So...you're still waiting for that "He-Man" ride, huh? While the nostalgia can be nice for HB watchers of my age group, to be honest, I've forgotten about most of the characters as well. Besides, the "kiddy land" isn't geared toward people in their 30s, it's for little kids... Finally, why would Viacom pay Time Warner big licensing $ to use their not-so-popular characters when they can promote their own more popular characters? King Bowser
I like most of you grew up with the best of both worlds Nick and HB it's really sad to see Hanna-Barbera land go just remember Hanna-Barbera Land will always be apart of Kings Island's History. Combat Stupendous 89 is right most kids would rather see spongebob flip a patty than see yogi steal a pic-a-nic basket but fellow yogi fans & HB fans have no fear last time I checked Warner Bros. has a Yogi Bear feature film in the works and is slanted for a summer 2007 release and for all you wondering yeah it will be mostly like the two scooby doo movies. Now Hanna-Barbera may not be as popular but some HB characters have lasted longer than ever like Scooby Doo.He is so friggin popular he has really been apart of childhoods since the late 60's and to this day is still popular I dunno why Scooby has out lived yogi or fred flintstone but the fact is people love him. I will be going to PKI next year because I love PKI Iam a fanboy and plus I know what PKI has to offer next year and cant WAIT to see the new stuff with my own eyes. ''Nickelodeon is the reason my kids want to go to PKI all the time'' I hear that my younger cousins and nephews always want to go to PKI to see Spongebob and Dora,Fairly Odd parents. Gulliversrubadub
Although I would love to see HBL come back, kids are more into Nick Toons, rather than HB. You ask some kids and they don't even know who the Smurfs are. I wish there was a part of the park that could be deticated to the Original KI and bring back some of our beloved cartoon favorites. That would be cool. I would like to see SDATHC changed. It's not as exciting as even PT was. Shoot even the Smurfs Enchanted Voyage was more exciting then SCATHC. Wow thats a first I hear kids and teens even adults saying they love sdathc everyday after they come off the ride and yeah the smurfs attraction from what I have been told sounds awsome but as of right now it's just a rumor Iam sure paramount creative is cookin something up. screamingnight
It would make me much happier if they removed both of them because hb and nick central is just a big watse of money! They could build a huge cool coaster if they took down hb and nick central!

How old are you, my kids love it alot, better then some phantom theater that little kids are afraid of, even though it would not hurt to re-theme it to another kids ride every few years

That's not all ways true I hear kids scream all the time ''I wanna ride yogi or I wanna ride with fred flintstone,I wanna ride on dino''... and just last week I heard a 5 year-old boy tell his father I wanna ride jabberjaw daddy. I guess some kids do watch Boomerang!
coastergirl
I love Nick Central but my heart lyes with HB. My kids love Spongebob but I have also heard from their mouth that they love Yogi stealing picnic baskets. I guess that my husband and I still love cartoons and watch the old school toons so my preteen kids know them both. I will be very sad to see HB leave next year and see Spongebob take over the world. They could build a huge cool coaster if they took down hb and nick central! You're joking right? Do you know how much money KI would lose?! Without HB-Land/Nick Central, families with kids wouldn't come, thus meaning their profits would go down. Sure a coaster would be cool, and it would bring in a few people, but again families that have kids wouldn't care. PKI's a family park offering a unique experience to everbody. It dosen't matter if it's going on your first coaster like The Beastie, sharing laughs with friends on SDATHC, getting soaked on WWC, or soaring through the forest at amazing speeds on The Beast, there's something for eveyone that will impact what they remember when they're older or if they become Theme Park Junkies. *Sigh* I wish I still got Boomerang..... We changed cable providers and they don't have Boomerang, which is sad because I love the old HB cartoons. I like Nick too, though.

My son is only 16 months old. Though I like Nickelodeon Central and Nickelodeon cartoons, my heart is with Hanna-Barbera cartoons and H-B Land. Though I've taken my son with me on the H-B Carousel, Atom Ant's Airways, SDATHC, and Quick Draw's Railway.....he'll have no recollection. The PKI he'll grow up with and remember will be devoid of an Hanna-Barbera Land. C'est la vie. Italian Chef
