TheKlockster
Has anyone seen this coaster? It is a very small and compact Intamin Accelerator Coaster. It operates at Liseberg in Sweeden. It stands about 80 feet tall and has two inversions. It is in a very small area like IJST - but looks like it packs a punch! I wish we could have got something like this with mini coopers on it instead of IJST!!! I would LOVE to ride this!!! CoastersRZ
WOW! Now that is a ride that could fit nicely at PKI with some theming, the ride would provide a good thrill, but not be too intense or intimidating for younger riders. Also, since there is not a lot of hardware, the park could spend some money on theming the ride (Or even enclosing it in a building if they wanted to go with the Addams Family mansion theme.) Gordon Bombay
Looks way too short, and inversions do not make for a family coaster.
CoastersRZ
No, but just because there are inversions, does not mean that it would not appeal to a large demographic. Keep in mind that in that the Paramount Park surveys about new rides, roller coasters with a loop were prefered by a majority of the people when asked what type of roller coaster they would like to see. TheKlockster
Kanonen track length: 1443' 7" IJST track length: 1960' So yeah it is a little shorter than IJST. But I think that it packs a serious punch into a tiny little package. Plus it could be easily themed. Something like this would likely have a 48 inch height requirement - maybe 54. So it might not work for the little ones - like Adventure Express - but I think it still would be good. It would not be an extreme thrill ride - most likely a 4 - high thirll ride. Don't forget - it is basically a miniature Top Thrill Dragster!
CoastersRZ
Yes, I think that it would provide an intense and fun ride experience. While it would be intense, its short layout would not scare away too many guests. The one concern I would have, is that is the hydraulic launch technology reached a relliability that Paramount Parks can live with?
TheKlockster
Actually the smaller Accelerator coasters have good reliability. Xcelerator, Storm Runner, Rita: Queen of Speed, Kanonen... It is the giants like Dragster and KingdaKa that are screwed up.
rcwizard13
Liseberg has announced that the Intamin made Kanonen will be removed and replaced by... A B&M Dive Machine. Called Valkyria, it will open in 2018. https://rcdb.com/14301.htm Is this the first instance of an Intamin coaster being replaced by a B&M? Interesting too to note that their 2017 addition is an Intamin Gyro Swing. http://liseberg.com/en/home/Amusement-Park/News-2017-2018/ http://liseberg.com/en/home/Footer/Press-Releases/Legendary-investments-at-Liseberg-20172018/
