murph
We got to the park at 4 pm and we were getting picked up at 10 pm. Once we got in we started walking aimlessly and ended up at TR:TR. One of my friends hadn't rode it so we decided to give it a shot. Nearing the first preshow, the ride broke down. We waited about 10 more minutes then left. Next we walked to Vortex and rode it. It was as good of a ride as ever, and Vortex is definitely still one of my favorites in the park. Afterwards we were going to meet some people we had seen earlier, so we got some Dip N' Dots (which ended up mostly on the ground) and waited. After awhile they didn't come so we went to FoF. The line was long (all rows open and the line started at the entrance to the building), and the ride wasn't all that great. It definitely wasn't worth the wait. Next we got on Racer, recaR was closed so we went on fowards. It was better than I remembered it. We went to Delirium and it had a very short wait compared to usual (about 3 rides) and we got on it fairly fast. It was the best ride of the day, and probably my best ride on Delirium ever. We went to SoB and there was basically no line at all, it started in the station. I rode in the back, and this was the worst ride on SoB I've had in a long time. When i got on, one of my friends pushed my lapbar down hard so it tightened up on my really badly (i pushed hers back ). It definitely wasn't just the lapbar though because the ride just seemed really rough overall. Towards the end there still seems to be a huge bump like the train ran something over.. After SoB we rode Adventure Express, which was boring as I expected. We headed over to The Beast but ended up riding TR:TR. I noticed the water doesn't shoot up high enough to hit the front row anymore, but the program seems to be the same. Overall it was a good day at PKI, and we rode a lot of rides. Captain Picard
I had 2 rides on SOB today and was much better than last year but does have the bump at the end.
Mr. Christopher
I don't see what the big deal is. All of my rides on SOB are smooth and all I do is sit in the middle of the cars. But, that's just what works for me. I can't say anything for other people.
Browntggrr
No offense Fusiondude, but if you have to have a certain seat on a train, (like the middle seat of a car), just to get a smooth ride, the coaster has some major issues. You usually hear people talk about where to sit to get the most air, or the fastest seat, typically the smoothest is not a topic of discussion, unless it is SoB. I feel that this ride is just like The Bat, a good ride with way too many problems, and these problems are costing the park big $$. Not necessarily downtime, but it has been retracked numerous times, and it has not helped. The Bat was a great ride, but the downtime and cost killed it. Vortex was put in it's place and has done a tremendous job, it may be about time that PKI does the same thing with SoB.
flightoffear1996
Well while this ride is a little bit on the rough side I don't understand why you people complain about this ride. It is a great ride and it never loses it speed thoughout the course. Anyway arent woodens supposed to be rough? And most of the GP doesn't care about if the ride is rough (unless injury accours) because they do not know any difference. The Son of Beast is not much rougher than The Beast. DanielRadsgrl
I agree with you completely. Its the only wooden roller coaster to do a lot of things why would they take it out? I don't think it's all that rough the last part is the only really rough part. They have people who come to the park just to ride sob if they take it out it'd be a huge mistake. Stitch
Nice Trip Report Murph, as to the SOB debate let it go and get back on topic. Everyone has the right to their opinion but they don't have the right to tell others that theirs is wrong.

Can't help but agree with you there. You shouldn't have to sit in a certain seat to have an enjoyable ride experience. If you guys want to debate this more, please start a topic in the Battle Room. Anyway. I went up there for about two or so hours Saturday night with Italian Chef. It was extremely crowded at first, but in the last hour, it died down a lot. Fortunately, we were able to ride a lot of rides in that last hour. I also went Sunday and the lines were definitely better. If you have to choose, I'd choose Sundays until the park is open daily. Hey, in a little over 2 hours we managed to ride The Beast, The Racer, Delirium, the Eiffel Tower (my first time this year), Zephyr, and Adventure Express (2 rides on AE)! Hence, it was well worth my time - and I can't wait until my next visit to PKI! Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:
