Browntggrr
I think it is a great choice to make and if you HATE the park soo much, STOP COMING! It's not that people hate PKI, but how things have worked out is very intresting. - Forcing guests to have a specific "reservation" and only go on a specific day (so the guest can save a couple bucks. - Not allowing season pass holders free admission or discounts (origionally) - Making the decision to reduce the price of admission/ discounts - and now closing the park for questionable weather. It is intresting that this is a PKI fan site, and it seems to me that there is a 50/50 split as to those who liked/ disliked Winterfest. PKI did hype it up, and it looks as if they are not living up to their own expectations. But at least they are trying to tie up some loose ends by making decisions that change the costs for the guest. As far as closing the park because of the weather it was probably more of a supply/ demand situation- Since attendance has been low, and the weather is bad, close the park so there will be more guests on a given night in the future. And please people, stop getting upset because some want to air their personal dislikes for PKI. I personally love PKI, but not all of their decisions. It is actually a good thing for people to talk about the negative side of things- this keeps PKI on their "toes" so they try to continuously improve. If all PKI hears is "Your doing great, everything is perfect", they have no reason to improve. I actually enjoy hearing some of the negative side of things, it keeps me open-minded. PKIWorker19
I agree that the park made a good decision about closing. They were putting the safety of their associates and the safety of the guests before making money. I do agree with the person that said no one here can ever seem to be pleased about anything the park does. There is always that one person who starts something about how ****ed off they are and how much they hate what is going on and I am just thinking, if you hate it so much, either stop going or give the park some ideas on how to change it so you would like it better. The thing about screwing GE over is blown way out of proportion. GE saw the weather on Thursday and probably anticipated this would happen. PKI was probably thinking of ways to make this up to them Thursday night. We are not just going to say,"Well, s**t happens sorry about your luck." We are going to make it up to them somehow, someway. And to the person that commented about the whole GE thing. Were you there on Friday? From the sound of it, you weren't. You just seemed to be speculating. I do know that we did not open anything for them, cause I work there and I heard that. Anyone can know that information. I digress though. Who did you talk to from that event? Did anyone come to you personally and say,"Well, this sucked and we are going elsewhere next year?" From the sound of it, no. Don't say that GE is going else where next year when you don't even know what they were thinking. The person who posted after you said that their parents had a dandy time. This just sucks that this site has come down to this. I used to like coming to this site to read about what was going on. Now every time I come here there is a new fight about something so idiodic that it blows my mind. Have you all not realized that PKIC already closed one topic because of how petty it was getting? Maybe yes, maybe no. You wouldn't be pleased if the park stayed open and someone got hurt, and you aren't pleased when they close. What the hell pleases you? GET OVER IT! Hopefully this will be my last post defending the park that I work for and have worked for for 4 years now from people who are ex-employees and who are just random people who have opinions. I really hope I am not like some of the ex-employees on here when I quit. That would be a shame!

I really hope I am not like some of the ex-employees on here when I quit. That would be a shame! You are 100% correct, sir. Personally, I think the park gave us what they told us what they were going to give us. I mean, if you thought everything they said at the press announcement sounded stupid, you could have made the decision 6 months ago not to go. I have come to know some of the members of the entertainment department personally and I know they have worked VERY hard to get this event right. This was their time to shine and if I must say so myself, they did a darn good job at it. Personally I would be pised if I worked so hard rehersing this stuff, put on a magnificent show and came on here and saw people whining about the trees on I-Street not being lit up. What's the big deal? I'm going to say this for the 18 bajillionth time: Winterfest is about live shows and entertainment. If you don't like going to live shows, or hate the holiday season, or don't like being out in the cold, or hate PKI, or anything of that sort, it's not going to be for you. Once again, there are very few rides opened and that's for good reason. NO Tomb Raider is not open, NO FoF is not open, NO The Beast is not open and if Wintefest comes back in the coming years, they likely won't be open. Now I'm not going to deny it, PKI's out to get your money. If they weren't they'd be rotting like Americana. It's a matter of what value you'd put on what's offered. Personally I loved the event, but I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you go to the park expecting the same type of experience, you're not going to get it. You want to hear about people fighting about stupid stuff? I remember when I had to break my kids up because they were arguing over a TV character named "Timmy the Tooth".. They were arguing that Timmy the Tooth didn't have teeth because he was a giant tooth already, how could he have teeth? To which the other child replied, oh yeah, then how can he eat then? Hummm...?? This went on for like 10 minutes.. It was insane.. RIP Pixie and Dixie.
