cewldre
Well, some of you may be aware, others may not, but I am a games person at the park. Anyways, the games GM last year went down to Carowinds, which is where our Eagles went. Well, I went to visit him last during their season and rode the Phantom Flyers, which, in case you don't know, are our flying eagles. Anyone else been down to Carowinds to ride them? Or am I the only one? Also, I have a pic of it, maybe I will try to figure out how to get them posted somewhere or hosted to show you the cool paint job they got. They look really nice. BoddaH1994
You probably weren't around for this, but when they announced that the Eagles were moving to Carowinds there was a pretty big uproar on here... yeah, we were ****ed.

Ohh.. I know, but I wasn't on the site for that. I was asking though, since I knew there were many upset and ****ed people if anyone has made that trip to ride them. In case you are planning on it, it's in their Nickelodeon or Kiddie area if you prefer that. I will be going again this year to visit my old games manager and will ride them again. Maybe I'll get some more pics.
WooferBearATL
Well I think that it was removed to make room for IJST now weren't they. <G>
UncleHenry
Hey Cewldre, long time no talk. This is StXBomber, fellow DDR player. I must say, I'm very jealous. I miss that ride alot. I might try going down there next summer.
Delirium_Guy
I made 3 visits to Carowinds last year. I was ****ed when PKI removed the Eagles, for no apparent reason. Obviously it wasn't for Italian Job, but rather that obnoxious sign promoting Happy Days. Moving on, the Eagles are better off at Carowinds. They got the attention that PKI failed to give them and now operated far more efficiently. Like Bodda said, there was quite the uproar on here. I'm sooooo glad we got Italian Job in their place <end sarcasm>. OH well, my desire to visit PKI as frequently as I used to has died down tremendously....guess that means more time to travel to other parks! cewldre
Hey Cewldre, long time no talk. This is StXBomber, fellow DDR player. I must say, I'm very jealous. I miss that ride alot. I might try going down there next summer. I remember, back when I first joined, you vouched that I did work in the park for the employee area on these forums (which I can no longer get too). Anyways, to the poster who said, they were removed to make way for IJST, we're all well aware. Now, if you read my post more carefully, it asks, who's gone to visit them in their new home, Paramount's carowinds. Like an old friend you go to visit once they move, who's gone to visit their old friend, the Eagles, or, as Carowinds has themed it, the Phantom Flyers? I wish they wouldn't have moved. But I can't say they havent done anything for them. The paint job looks very nice on it. It looks really good. The biggest downside, other than it being so far away, is that their rides people have no idea how to operate it right, and it is in Nickelodeon area, so they have to help all the kids on and off. RollerNut
I ride them all the time. Everyone down here at Carowinds loves them. Photos of Phantom Flyers
coasterbruh
I ha e ridden it over and over and I love them. Obviously it was no reason to move them to PCar but who gives a crap now! They are closer to me and one of the best moves paramount has done, for carowinds atleast...
RollerNut
Now Coasterbruh, lets not upset them too much. We don't want another ocean of tears over a lost ride.

flightoffear1996
Well at PKI I know it looks like it was placed by some empty greeny space but if you would only think how packed it would be in that area if they were there.
Delirium_Guy
Well at PKI I know it looks like it was placed by some empty greeny space but if you would only think how packed it would be in that area if they were there. Um, not at all? Re-doing the queue line would have been the only thing needed to make it work. Thats not the way PKI operates, its just a continuance of what they've been doing the past 5 years.....removing more rides than adding rides. Oh well. I'm glad to see they were taken care of at Carowinds, they run much better now! The Eagles and Top Gun in the same park, sounds good to me! flightoffear1996
I still think even if they did move the line or whatever that area would have just been way to packed. I think that they should have moved them to where that eurobunge is sitting at though.
The-Snapper
Well Delirium Guy said it all! they really are better off down there! They operate good down there and the guest really like the ride! But hey dont be sad we have IJST! YEAH YEAH YEAH! Im so excited for the 40 mph launch! OMG that was better than DRAGSTER!
cewldre
I think that after seeing the green space left, there would have been room to keep them, but yes, it would have been pretty tight. You would have had to move the line and in order to make them fit, I think would have to go as close as possible to Happy Days. Still doable I think, but it's to late to worry about that now. BoddaH1994
I'm willing to go as far as saying that they wouldn't even have to move the entrance. There's more than enough room where they were.
coasterbruh
there was/is room for it...down at carowinds!
deidre1976
Well I think that it was removed to make room for IJST now weren't they. <G> They were replaced by the FONZ Pic, What a joke!
deidre1976
Sorry for double posting.......I'm gonna try to make it to PCW this spring on the way to Disney.
Captain Nemo
I'm just wondering, if you were near carowinds during its open season, would you spend the money and time to enter the park to just ride it?
cewldre
well, I went down to the park for several reasons. As I believe I said in my original post, the games general manager from KI went down there to be the resale manager last year. Now, me being a games person, I went to visit him. However, yes, if I was in the area, I would definitely stop by Carowinds to enjoy the Eagles, and the other rides too.
