The Interpreter
You people need to remember WHO pays the bills. The average visitor isn't in the park every day for hours on end. That being said, the question that cracks me up the most at Paramount's Kings Island: "Where's Magnum?" And at Cedar Point: "Can you tell me where The Beast is, please?" Honest to goodness, I've been asked for directions to The Beast at Six Flags Over Georgia. More than once. For whatever reason, people often seem to think I am a park employee. Maybe cause I wear long pants and polo shirts to parks, sometimes with dress shoes! Hey, it's what I am comfortable with...Still, you'd think people would know a bright green polo shirt with khaki pants is NOT a Six Flags Over Georgia uniform! RollerNut
The Seaon Pass holders pay the bills. Thank you, Paramount's Carowinds Season Pass Holders.
The Interpreter
Actually, season pass holders are a large source of revenue, but the average season pass holder doesn't spend anything close to what the average day ticket user does... And even season pass holders can need directions. That pass holder you speak of could be from another Paramount Park, you know...
WooferBearATL
Seriously, I used to get asked "Where is the Eifel Tower" all the time. Some times I'd just kinda look up into the air.
FOF/Z 4-ever
I just tell them to take 71 south and look behind them. Other times, I tell them it's in France

BoddaH1994
Did you guys notice that Scoobys castle is part of international street There's a certain legality behind that. Nick and HB characters aren't even allowed to be printed on the same letterhead. Actually, season pass holders are a large source of revenue, but the average season pass holder doesn't spend anything close to what the average day ticket user does... I disagree. I'd say in an individual visit a ticketholder will spend much more, but how many average visits does a ticketholder go per year? Maybe 2? On the other hand, season passholders who may only spend a little money in the park while they're there, they probably stil end up spending much more throughout the course of the season. WooferBearATL
OK, how we used to address it at KECO was that the revenue from season passes only helped infuse funds at the start of the season. Not a lot was expected from them throughout the year as they often do not even have meals in the park. That is one of the reason that food discount coupons were mailed out every July and August. TheKlockster
I just noticed that Scooby's Castle was on International Street... I think its time for a new map design! The one we have is so cartoonish and inaccurate! I also like how on Holiday World's map - the ground colors indicate elevation change. That is very handy info for someone in a wheel chair. I like it when guests are reading the map upside down - because they think it makes more sense if the map is oriented in the direction they are moving... The Interpreter
I've been to a few parks that the map not only didn't make sense, it was just plain wrong! Rides not where the map said they were, paths that were blocked in reality but showed all clear on the map. Six Flags America a few years back comes to mind. I actually had to get security to help me find the exit! I was never so glad to leave a park. Bad maps make for an overall bad experience. Like outrageous parking fees, they can start guests off with a bad impression before anything else even can happen, good or bad. . .
TheKlockster
I have heard a lot of guests complain about how confusing PKIs map is. Really its very accurate - just the rides are totally wrong. SOB and Beast are completely out of whack - and that Skyflyer guy is getting run over on DOT. But I don't see what is so confusing about the map. One thing that happened alot - guests just could not find how to get to the entrance of the Italian Job! CoasterKrazy
Notice how the 2006 park map fails to mention Flight of Fear as a major attraction, while the 2005 park map did. This may or may not be an indication of what's to come, cosidering Adventure Express is not featured in the 2006 map either.
