RailRider
How many are amazed like me of how big the Great Wolf really is? I cannot beleive how much it has changed the Skyline of PKI not too mention the vast difference it makes compared to the old camp ground. I thought it was going to sit back a bit more, but I guess the shear size wouldn't allow for that. I am quite impressed with the size of this new resort and honestly think it dwarfs the one in Sandusky. Great location, great investment, and I cannot wait to reserve my room during the cold Ohio winters.
CoastersRZ
Well, they could not have set it back much farther because the old Columbia Road that is now a maintenance road sits back there. This is the road that you can see when on Top Gun`s lift. And yes, the lodge is quite large and can even be clearly seen (at least in the winter) from the parking lot. Gordon Bombay
Is there going to be a skyline in GWL?
HaUsTy83
I'll be on my way up to Columbus Friday to fly to Tampa for my cruise for the Grand Cayman's. I can't wait to see the Resort from 71. I bet its awsome from hearing about the posts on here!
CoastersRZ
I don`t believe there is going to be a Skyline in the GWL. I believe that there will be a Pizza Hut Express though.
The Interpreter
It'd be very smart, in my opinion, to also have a Gold Star. . .
Gordon Bombay
^The far superior of the local chili restaurants here.
cewldre
oh yes, put a Gold Star in and drive people away. Makes good business sense to me (If you couldn't tell, I don't like Gold Star). Also, no there is no SKyline in the lodge. Well, at least look there was no report of one on the website. I guess it could happen, but I bet they would have mentioned it. SeasonPass4Life
HA HA... too funny... you guys are arguing over Chili and RailRider was referring to the ACTUAL skyline of PKI! LMAO
WooferBearATL
MMMMM! I so miss Skyline. I ain't been back to Cincy for a few months and Ohhhhh do I wish we had Skyline in Atlanta.
cewldre
yes, we know he was talking about the buildings skyline and not the chili, but chili is important to us around here so any mention of a skyline always starts a chili debate.
Reclaimer
All this talk of chili in Cincy reminds me of the great Ron White joke. iTunes URL: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...43441&i=5520173
RailRider
Too funny. I will say speaking of food. The Great Wolf in Sandusky has a family style resturant inside of it that has amazing home cooking style food. I will acctualy go there and eat when visiting CP and not staying at the Great Wolf. Hopefully PKI's will have the same resturant.
cewldre
I am not sure if it's the exact same, but it did mention like 2 restraunts and a snack bar in the lodge.
Enchanted Voyager
Gross, Goldstar. I can't eat the stuff.

Why do so many people NOT know how to spell "Cincinnati?!" It's like saying that I'm passing through Indeeanapollis to get to St. Lewis to see the Cardenals play at Bush Stadiam! CoastersNSich
Is there going to be a skyline in GWL? If so, Roseanne Barr just might spend a night there!
The Interpreter
That would be another reason for a Gold Star: Barr none!

Seems that it's going to become one of those classic shows like Mary Tyler Moore and All in the Family.
flightoffear1996
Skyline is the best. Gold Star right next to the skyline went out of business.
cewldre
just because someone put cincy doesn't mean they don't know how to spell cincinnati. It's nothing at all like saying St. Lewis, etc... Cincy is an acceptable shortened form of our cities name. Would you rather have them say Nasty Nati?
Flying Eagles 1972-2004
Skyline is the best. Gold Star right next to the skyline went out of business. Umm no. it didn't go out of business. It BURNED DOWN.
UncleHenry
Im not paying a dollar to hear the joke. Anyone able to send it to me?
cewldre
well, skyline is simply the best since I used to go to the original one all the time. Well, they've since moved it across the street to a nicer building. Oh well.... Anyways, the lodge looks sweet. period.
Delirium13
Why on't we all get back on topic. When he said skyline he wasn't referring to the best chili in Cincinnati, he was talking about the look of the building, as in a city skyline. But yes I am also surprised by the size of the GWL. It looks great and should bring in a lot of money for the park.
cewldre
actually, I dont think it really brings money in the way you're thinking, to the park. It's a seperate company, great wolf. They probably pay a set fee of money each month for the lease of the land and that's it. We may get a percentage of the profit, but that's unlikely. I know we don't get the profit to share between the park since they are not working for the park, just leasing our land.
Captain Picard
I don't think 404 rooms of people is going to do much for the park. The park doesn't seem to get much of the money it makes so don't see it getting any from the GWL deal.
The Interpreter
Er, no. CBS Corporation is leasing the land in exchange for a 16 percent interest: http://www.fool.com/news/commentary/2006/c...ary06031603.htm So, 16 percent of the profits from that lodge go directly to CBS...
