March 28, 200620 yr yes, the ride looks really cool. I hope they can truly pull this off. Could really change the industry.
March 28, 200620 yr So it gives the date of 2008 as the year they open their first Robo-COASTER.......any thoughts as to whether they have actually been contracted by a park to do this??? I know that a few years Universal was working on a Van Hesling attraction using this technology....but they axed that concept after the movie didnt do as good as they thought. Also Disney had a rumored attraction in design for The Incredibles using this technology as well.....havent heard about that one in awhile....Hmmmm
March 28, 200620 yr ...how much you wanna bet Six Flags is gonna eat this up and put it out in the middle of a parking lot with absolutely no theming whatsoever? (or probably have a Superman theme?)
March 28, 200620 yr I'm not sure which but some park has a few robocoasters already installed. They showed them in the golden ticket awards show on Travel channel.
March 28, 200620 yr You're probably thinking of that stationary Robocoaster at Legoland in California. That is a flat ride version. THIS version actually rides around on a roller coaster track.
March 28, 200620 yr I was told not to look for anything big at Disney anytime soon. That was in October and there was nothing in the hands of the people that work on these things.

Not if you listen to Mark Shapiro's opinion on the economic benefit (or lack there of) of coasters...
March 29, 200620 yr ...how much you wanna bet Six Flags is gonna eat this up and put it out in the middle of a parking lot with absolutely no theming whatsoever? (or probably have a Superman theme?) you know it is sad to say but u are probably right that is exactly what they will do and it will become another Deja Vu and close down or operate 3 out of 200 days they are open.
March 29, 200620 yr Or the ride broke down and you were caught upside down. See, this is why I like another concept, the Cantilevered Coaster, better than the Robocoaster. The CRC is all mechanical, meaning that it doesn't use complicated computer systems and stuff like that. Unfortunately, it's still in concept design, but some of its ideas are very promising: ^The CRC themed as a jungle safari ride in an indoor installation. The vehicle and its riders have just avoid being run down by a charging rhino by jumping the moat surrounding a ruined jungle temple.
March 29, 200620 yr Having ridden a Robocoaster several times over the years at IAAPA, I feel I can say this. They are a lot less fun than they look. Or at least so I thought. I'd rather ride a really great woodie or conventional steel coaster any day.

I'd rather ride a really great woodie or conventional steel coaster any day. Yea but this robo coaster is on a track so it is going to give you a new experince. Also probaly alot of slow moving lines and alot of break downs.
March 29, 200620 yr An incredibles coaster at WDW, MGM studios. That would be cool if it was a robo arm, but Epcot still needs a coaster (I've heard a rumor they are building a coaster similar to the Matterhorn and that it will be between the Land and Canada)
March 29, 200620 yr I dont remember how long ago that article was published, but it has to be more then 6 months...Sheesh.
