April 4, 200620 yr Felt this was the best place to ask without starting a new topic, but what song is playing on the Flying Eagles tribute video?
April 4, 200620 yr *Points at sig* Ah, Cobra, I miss you so. I mean, that thing was packed with serious air, trick track, and a nice little inversion. Who couldnt like it? *Bashes infinately on Delerium and Slingshot* I mean, they have plenty of space to put those rides in the back. Why dont they just clear out some new land for once?
April 4, 200620 yr Perhaps because King Cobra had issues.... Steel coasters do not last forever... Nondestructive testing is done each off season. Some things are easily fixed...others are not so easy.
April 4, 200620 yr Eh. I still say it can be fixed with a lot of tlc. I mean, Vortex is still standing...
April 4, 200620 yr Yeah. And if they take away my Vortex, I'm just gonna have to start getting CP passes every year instead. Call me a spoiled brat, but ever since they started to remove my favorite rides(starting with KC), PKI has just plummeted in terms of parks I visit...
April 4, 200620 yr Yep, Cedar Point has such an amazing multi-inversion looping coaster. If you like Corkscrew. Enjoy! Besides, ain't you the same person who just posted how great it would be if Cedar Fair owned PKI? Then you'd have no choice of another Ohio park chain to buy a pass from. Think about that!
April 4, 200620 yr No. Im saying if CF monopolized Ohio, they would hopefully to be sencefull enough to take away that bogus rule about additional fees between CP and GL. Then again, I wouldnt mind it being bought by who ever...Im just giving my 2 cents. Also, Corkscrew does have some air...if it doesnt ballbust you. Not to mention their 2 other loopers, and all that Intamin goodness. I dont care if TTD is a one trick pony. Its one heck of a trick.
April 4, 200620 yr Apparently i will never again get to chillax in Antechamber. Captain Nemo has informed me that they will now be Prechambering..... or as he said the official term was AnteShow? i think? Loading people from the gates of Ante straight through the door into Preshow. Like that time the guy threw up his spaghetti Lunch all over antechamber Ive never seen so much Voban used lol.....Good Work Jeff 3 and a half packets did a wonderfull job soaking it up. Hahahaha i still remember the look on the guys face. DMC
April 8, 200620 yr First of all, if they got rid of The Vortex i would be out ther 24/7 ( you cant bet i would) with a strike.. i dont care if there is a peice missing or anything.. i would deffinatly do something about it.. and secondly, I heard they got rid of KC because the cround used to be swapish land, and it was becomeing unstable and the coaster was sinking in. I Miss K.I. soo much that i have dreams about it and litterally 24/7 my mind is never off of it.. on my hameowrk i lose points because i write PKI all over it.. and i have done some very nice drawings its just a home to me, so of course i miss it soo much. p.s. ONLY & DAYS!! woohoo! i cant wait, and you can bet to see me there.
April 8, 200620 yr What is it with the rumors and every ride sinking?? Magnum, Vortex and now King Cobra? There are structural engineers that design the foundations of all buildings and structures. Before the rides are built, surveying teams visit the site and take boring samples of the groound. They use this information to determine how much bearing capacity the soil has. In some cases the foundation will not simply be footings poured using just concrete. For example, Drop Zone contains 16 H piles that are driven down 90 feet into the ground and rest on the bedrock. These piles are tied together with a 700 cubic yard pile cap. The foundations for Drop Zone, and many other rides and buildings were designed by Stephen Schaefer Associates, Inc.
