italianchef
Today's visit to PKI was better than last time. Of my 4 visits this year, it was the best. I tried to ride Little Bill's Giggle Coaster (formerly known as Top Cat's Taxi Jam) with Toddler Chef but he cried and cried when I tried to get him to sit alone next to me. Last night we went to Kmart to take professional family pictures. We tried to get Toddler Chef to sit alone for pictures - but he cried and cried. He wouldn't even sit next to me. So I'd say he is probably experiencing separation anxiety - not fear of roller coasters. We were unable to ride Little Bill's, so the three of us then went to Nick-o-Round (formerly known as Hanna-Barbera Carousel) and rode it together. Toddler Chef sat on my lap and was fine. Next the 3 of us rode La Adventure de Azul (formerly know as Quick Draw's Railway) - a mini-train ride. Toddler Chef rode once with the three of us and then just with me while Yukari taped. After that Mrs. Chef let me run off on my own to ride The Racer and then Adventure Express today. There were practically no lines! Following my 2 coaster rides, which only took 20 minutes or less, we tried to ride the Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad (the BIG train) - but a sign said that it's closed until May 20th!!!! So we then had lunch at Wings Diner. Following that I changed Toddler Chef's diaper and wanted to ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower, but Yukari said that she was tired. So we visited Emporium but didn't see anything worth buying. We then left the park - but Mrs. Chef wanted to stop by Mei Japanese grocery store on the way home. We did and purchased lots of expensive Japanese products. Have a great day! Italian Chef
CoastersNSich
It was nice running into you, Toddler Chef and Mrs. Chef at Eiffel Tower today, while hanging out with Robbie (CoastersRZ). We pretty much did everything once, other than Top Gun, Avatar (which was broken down) and Fairly Odd Coaster. With the light attendance, I could have stayed even longer and done multiple rides, but I was getting a little tired, and hungry, not wanting to eat in the park (though I did stop at Graeter's). CoastersRZ
Yes, it was nice hanging out with you CoastersNSich. The crowds were picking up when I left. The line for The Beast stretched down to the height check station. Upon leaving the park, I noticed that the line of cars waiting to get into the park was backed up to Kings Island Drive still (at about 3 in the afternoon). italianchef
It was nice seeing you two. Sorry that we didn't have much time to chat. Being that Toddler Chef is only 2 years old, he doesn't give Mrs. Chef and me much time for conversations. Have a great day! CoastersRZ
Hey, at least you are not in school in the summer at one of the best architecture schools in country! 19 credit hours from mid-June through the end of August means my visits to the park will be few and far between! But now, and again in the fall I am co-oping so my weekends are free to go to the park!
Reon
... Lets take a look into my summer! Since I'm a Coney ride-op now, my training starts May 2 (next tuesday). Ofcourse season wont start for a few more weeks, but I'll barely be able to work as is... May 25, I graduate from Walnut, and early June-July I go to some stupid summer program for the HELP program my parents signed me up for. July-August, I'll be at Coney again (provided they allow me to skip a whole friggen month), and August school starts after a week of marching band camp. I have to cram in as many parks as I can now...
The Interpreter
What's the HELP program?
CoastersRZ
Well as a former (and possibly current) Coney Island ride operator, welcome! They are pretty flexible with scheduling. I have all my paper work filled out to return again for my fifth season (although I was only there a couple weekends last year). (Hard to believe I started there back in 2002!) I will only be working weekends in the spring until mid-June, and then very sporadically (ie maybe 1 shift a week, if at all) in June, July and August, and then back again for the final couple of weekends in September and October. Reon
What's the HELP program? Its this stupid tutoring/etc program that Marshall University offers. Of course Im not able to do anything myself, so my parents forced me into it And Coaster, lets hope their THAT flexible. I would HATE to finally land a ride-op job and be stripped away all for something I didnt want to do...
CoastersRZ
Well, they might be flxeible with me because I had three solid years in there. Plus my brother is also in his fourth year in the rides department, and was in the top few of most hours worked in the rides department last year. But generally, the turnover rate at Coney is so high that they will generally take all the help they can get, when they can get it.

AZ Kinda Guy
You basically hold the restraint up so it doesn't go down all the way. If I was checking your bar I would have stapled the **** out of you.
