My 5/28 Visit

I had very mixed feelings about my trip today. We went straight to Delirium only to find that it was broke. Then we to SOB and we rode in 2-1, and it was horrible. After the helix and after the loop, it was very rough. If I was a sailor, I would have yelled every curse word in the dictionary.

Then we ate Dippin' Dots cause it was extremely hot in the park. We then went to Tomb Raider, but the line stood still forever so we assumed it broke down and left to go ride The Beast. It seemed pretty smooth today. We rode in the first seat. I still love the double helix.

Then we rode Italian Job which had the shortest line I've ever seen for that ride. When the guy put us in line, the ride broke down. I guess it was the launching system cause the train was stopped at the launch point. We waited for about 15 minutes. The ride was really fun because all the effects were working. We even got wet and we were in 3-1.

Then we went over to Avatar and found out it was broke, or as they say "It always the platform!" We got some Icees and then saw it was running so we were able to ride and it was so much fun. Probably the most fun I have ever had on a family ride.

I was little mad cause a lot of rides were broke, including Vortex. And it was hot and people seemed irritable. We didn't even try to get on Face/Off but this only my first visit of the year!

Things break. It happens. Sorry you had a bad trip, but thats just life.

Nothing in this life is 100 percent reliable.

This attitude, from what I believe to be a Paramount Parks employee, no less; is why PKI is NOT a destination park.

People who drive from hundreds or thousands of miles do NOT expect things to be broken on a routine basis, and shouldn't have to just deal with it "That's just life."

It's also just life that people have choices and they can and do take their money elsewhere.

Why choose to take a chance on a park that may or may not have rides running?

By the way, Six Flags was among the worst at this. It's biggest park STILL has this problem. They need to work on that and are...

Cedar Fair is known for caring about having every ride open all the time. It is one of the reasons Dragster has about driven them nuts. I will be watching, with others, with great interest as they contend with Son of Beast...

Vortex was only closed for about two and a half hours on Sunday. I was standing out in front of the line guest relating from until about 20 minutes before it opened - then I walked the people in.

But yeah I don't agree with the "s*** happens" attitude - and it is especially inappropriate coming from a Kings Island mechanic.

Since when is PKI not a destination park???

Thats somewhat of a sensationalist claim you got there pal.... of course with no evidence to back it up.

I, with 99% of others, will NOT be watching what Cedar Fair does with Son of Beast .... I'll just be riding - and enjoying my day.

I know things break. I was just looking forward to my first KI visit of the year, and I barely rode anything. I have a pass, so it's not like I am complaining that I will never get on anything b/c they break all the time.

as a $35 paying customer, i'd be a bit irate if i laid down $70+ food for a day in the park and a good deal of their marquee rides were closed.... SOB, Delerium, Vortex, TR:TR... assuming they were all broke down (which is what i surmised). If i went to customer relations.... "that's life" wouldn't cut it for me.

as a side note, SOB's future got a bit more secure... CF is used to dumping $$$$ into maintenace nightmare coasters.

AAAAH! it's BROKEN!!!! broke is a verb! broken is an adjective! sorry... grammar police.

That would be Legend Riders job... to throw the dictionary.

Anyway, if you read the park map it does say that some rides may close down (this also goes under rainchecks). The rides are fixed as fast as they possably can.
