thejoker8388
I know it was mentioned a while back on this site that Dollywood was getting a new roller coaster called Mystery Mine, but none of the details had been confirmed. Well on Friday they released the information about the ride. It's a Gerstlauer Eurofighter (the rumored ride that was going to be used for the once hoped for Addams Family ride). It features about 2,000 feet of track, 2.5 minutes of ride time, and four inversions. It's going to cost Dollywood $17.5 million and is supposed to have some amazing themeing, although all the details of the theme have yet to be released, more details can be found at Mystery Mine. This sounds like a really cool ride to me. This is something Paramount should have done because it sounds to have amazing themeing and is a ride that younger people can ride, yet sounds exciting enough for the thrill seeker as well. I think Paramount got too cheap towards the end of their ownership to fork out the money though.

They have really built up their collection over the past 5 years or so! Tennessee Tornado, Thunderhead, now the Mystery Mine. FINALLY, a Eurofighter in the states. I've read nothing but positive reviews from EVERYONE who has ridden one! If their spinning coasters (WoF and Mall of America) are any indication, it'll be a total blast to ride! PKIVortex
Sounds pretty cool. I still wanna go to Dollywood and ride TT the last arrow looping coaster to be bulit. I heard it was a great ride.
PhantomTheater
TT is awsome, especilly sense its on and in a mountain. Blazing Fury is another good coaster, it all underground and has a splash landing.
crazydnate15
Dollywood is really fun. I didn't care for Blazing Fury so much, but I loved TT and Thunderhead. Another great and unique ride is the Mountain Slidewinder.
WooferBearATL
It just amazes me that parks like Dollywood and the Busch parks continue to set the standard in theme park excellence. Ya know, who would have thought that what was an old run down park in the smokies and an addition to a brewery tour would be the envy of theme parks. CF and Six Flags best be paying attention. The Interpreter
And as wonderful as Dollywood is (and it is), it's sister parks in Branson are also to be appreciated. Especially the marvelous Silver Dollar City.

Especially the marvelous Silver Dollar City. I remember taking a Supervisor's tour soon after the park became "Dollywood." I remember thinking "What a Dump!" They would take and lay the fried chicken baskets right on the floor to load them up and fry. We just kinda looked at each other and said, "Guess we're not eating here." Then within a couple years it was just a complete transformation. They really got it right!
KIBeast
I agree that this is going to be a great new addition for Dollywood. I am liking their most recent additions...the Mystery Mine Ride, Timber Tower, and Thunderhead. I am definitely going to Dollywood next year combined with a stop at Six Flags Over Georgia. PKIVortex
I really need to plan a trip to Dollywood besides I need a vacation . Do you need 2 days for Dollywood or can you do everything in 1 day?
The Interpreter
I really need to plan a trip to Dollywood besides I need a vacation . Do you need 2 days for Dollywood or can you do everything in 1 day? It all depends. Weekends there can be crazy busy. Especially in the fall around leaf-peeping time when you would think it would not be. Do you like shows? If not, you'd be surprised that usually on even the busiest of days, the ride lines do not get all that long. Dollywood attracts a rather unusual audience for a theme park. Much older, with lots of grandparents with their grandkids. The thrill rides often don't have as much a line as you'd expect. With the recent additions to Dollywood, though, this is slowly starting to change.
KIBeast
There is a new promo video for the Mystery Mine Ride. Also, there are some construction pics, for those interested. There is also a new cool animated intro for the site. Mystery Mine Ride

A lot of its audience is getting older also. My grandma can only ride the train and she does not like it that much any more. Also I am glad to see a coaster of this type in the USA.
