TGI Fridays @ KI

But the thing with that, from what I have heard, is that the service elevator opens in the kitchen. That poses issues then with the health department.

Now granted the Kitchen is not enormous, but Bucca De Bepo gets away with taking folk through the kitchen so it should not be an issue.

Not familiar with Semolina and I know a lot of restaurants.

In Atlanta you can have authentic ethnic food of every variety.  But it is difficult to find some foods.

Which brings me to a subject!

Why not put a restaurant like Magianno's or Buca De Bepo into the park.  Big family size portions and very friendly towards large groups.  More so than Friday's I'd say!

Buca De Bepo's would be AWESOME!!! I was thinking something like a The Cheesecake Factory, or how about a Long Horn Steak House, something that is sooooo got the place is packed all the time and people want to go there off season too!

Actually, there are no health rules about a guest being in the kitchen area of any restaurant. Going through the back door is how many famous people get in and out as opposed to the front door.

Ironically, I am referring to Shaquille O'Neal using the back door in the Orlando TGI Fridays. He even commented on how clean the kitchen was.

That sounds like a great idea.  Do they serve breakfast?

That's what Funnel cakes are for! A Rainforest Cafe would be awsome chef.gif

FYI... People I am related too are disabled, and they have been in the IR when it was open to the public. They used to use the service elevator for ADA access.

ADA requirements do not allow such a substitute for proper access if there are substantial renovations made. Universal access...access for ALL, not separate and even less equal access for the disabled....yes, I know there are elevators for access to some newer rides. ADA is an area that can be very fuzzy. Fuzzy is what invites court actions. I don't see Cedar Fair using the service elevator as access to a newly reopened restaurant above the main gate...the main gate that was scheduled to be replaced at some time in the not too distant future anyhows...

Being in architecture school at UC (I have dealt with ADA and Universal access quite a bit.) In fact, the project I am working on right now for studio is the old Clifton School, which does not have an elevator (that`s one of my many tasks to solve in my design). It is generally frowned upon, as the Interpretor said when the accessible entrance is not in the same area or as easy to get to as the normal entrance. Pluse, depending on the size of the service elevator, even it may not be up to ADA code.

As an aside, the Ohio Building Code (OBC) has a section dedicated to amusement park rides. It is primarily related to means of egress from such structures as coaster stations.

  • 9 years later...

This thread is being bumped for a reason wholly different than my usual ones.

And, oh how I wish I'd paid more attention to the ATL stuff ere I upped and moved there.

And the King Street Chili Parlor (Hard Times Cafe) on King Street in Old Town Alexandria mentioned, too.

It's A Small World After All!

Anywho, none of those, sufficient as they may be, are the bumping reason this time.

Intended audience: Read Well. We's still waitin'.

(If they can close Mrs. Knott's for months for rehab, and they have....)
