Star Trek/Bonfante Gardens

Featured Replies

I accidently went to Cedarfair.com just a few minutes ago instead of cedarpoint.com, and I'm glad I did. As soon as I noticed my mistake, I retyped cedarpoint.com in my address bar, and as the Cedar Fair page went away, I caught a glance at a slightly more populated map of Cedar Fair parks. I hit my trusty back button, and sure enough, Star Trek and Bonfante Gardens are now listed as Cedar Fair parks on the map.

Star Trek is not that big. It would be no big loss if they take it out. While Bonfante Gardens is a very nice park they should keep.

Cedar Fair does not own Bonfante Gardens they have the same deal that Paramount did all they do is manage the park.

Star Trek is partly owned by the hotel. Not sure what percent that Cedar Fair controls. Plus it may not be very big but its two of the best walk through attractions ever built.

The way Kinzel described it on the conference call..."The Hilton owns the space, CBS (now Cedar Fair) owns the hardware." From a business standpoint, it's a 50/50 venture between the Hilton and CF.

I agree...it's very well-done attraction. IMHO, "Klingon Encounter" is the best simulator out there (yes, even better than BTTF:TR), and the walk-through lead up to it is one of the best themed attractions I've experienced. (Even with the cheesy Vegas Star Fleet actors biggrin.gif )

If you had said better than Spiderman at IOA, I might have understood. But BTTF:TR is ancient and, by some accounts, about to be refurbished/remodeled/removed. There's a reason for that.

Well, not that I think I need to defend a personal opinion, but...

I don't consider Spiderman a simulator in the "traditional" (ala Star Tours, BTTF, that crappy thing that used to be at BGT, etc.) sense...I put Spidey in a league all of its own. (And, FWIW, I don't think anything beats Spiderman...well, maybe the Mummy, but that's a whole other story wink.gif )

Of course, ST:TE isn't brand new itself anymore...my point is that it's an outstanding attraction. In my opinion, the best experience/ride Paramount Parks built in their decade+ in the theme park business...
