Losantiville
I don't make it to the park as often as many on here may, however if any of you find Winterfest Merchandise being cleared out please PM and let me know. It will certainly be worth my drive down there to pick up some of this historic stuff. I know that some of the games are giving out the Winterfest Plushes etc... but I am wanting the nicer souveiner stuff, fleece, ornaments, shirts etc... Keep Your eyes open for the merchandise! The Interpreter
If previous theme park experiences are a guide, you might also want to watch places like Value City, Big Lots, Tuesday Morning, Gabriel Brothers, etc.
WooferBearATL
If previous theme park experiences are a guide, you might also want to watch places like Value City, Big Lots, Tuesday Morning, Gabriel Brothers, etc. My guess is that is where any remaining merchandise will be sent to. It will either be that or that it will just be destroyed.

Given their current debt load, that practice may change. Wholesalers will pay for it, and that is a lot more than getting $o.oo AND paying for its disposal. . . Purplehaze
i dont know about that, cause walmart when they get bad clothing they rip it into shreads with razor blades instead of selling it
A_Titanic_Mess
If previous theme park experiences are a guide, you might also want to watch places like Value City, Big Lots, Tuesday Morning, Gabriel Brothers, etc. PKI Merchandise Department has always had a policy of not liquidating old product with park name on it. With the cancellation of Winterfest, I would guess that the merchandise dept will try to sell some WF product at a discount through the rest of this season. Whatever is left will be donated to charity, and the department will take a write-off. PKI regularly donates old merchandise to charity. The Interpreter
True, but somehow I think what CF does will probably be more of a guide now than what PKI resale did in the past. After all, PKI was having Winterfest this year, too....

See, when it was KECO they used to have what they called "Dead Plush Sales" to the employees and sold everything for a couple dollars. theparkb.
i can tell you this much i worked for six flags when Cedar Fair bought the park - six flags took most everything with them for this simple reason - anything like that - shirts etc.... they will have someone from the goverment come to the park or corporate and they will watch the park destroy the inventory - they then can write the items off on their taxes - so it is more effective for the park to write them off then sell them for less
The Interpreter
Uh, Six Flags went out of business in Aurora, Ohio. Stuff marked Six Flags Worlds of Adventure could not be sold. Cedar Fair bought Paramount Parks in North America. It did not go out of business. And, for all we know, Winterfest may be back again some day, though I wouldn't hold my breath until I turned blue waiting on it. . .

PhantomTheater
CF policy is to destroy merchandice. Like they did in 96 when they changed the name of ride.
