RailRider
What do I do to prepare to ride The Beast? Well during every offseasson I run 2 miles every morning for cardio, watch my vast collection of roller coaster DVDs so I can practice holding my arms up(really helps with endurance) and I go sledding down big ice mountains so I can pay respect to roller coaster heritage. I find that this routine has been quite effective in preparing me to ride The Beast every year... Then again you could just get in line and ride it. Your call
PKIVortex
I don't think anything can really prepare you for The Beast just get on it and ride it? Have you ridden any other coasters in the park? If you can ride Vortex you can ride The Beast.

KIBeast
The Beast is long, fun, out of control. Good airtime in certain spots. Great finale with the double helix. I have rode probably every car and I don't really have a preference. If you can stay until close, get a night ride. It is really dark out there in the woods and seems to go faster. Snake Attack!
I really like the front seat on either side because you see the track in front of you and you get plenty on physical air in your face, if the conditions are right the front will make you cry
king_cobra_27
I agree. Riding "The Beast" at night is a great way to end your day at the park. And I prefer the front seat of any roller coaster. ( the front seat is highly unique on "Expedition Everest" at Disney's Animal Kingdom ) And if I can give some advice. While you are going through the double helix don't look straight ahead. Instead, look to the right. You can see the trees fly by you through the gaps in the tunnel and it looks like some kind of unnatural strobe. Very intense. Also, it has only happened a couple of times that I have seen, but if you can get "The Wave" started from the front of the train to the back. That makes the lifthill more fun too. kc
kjkjkj
i have a good tip for you though! If you are short, on the second hill brace yourself. Because it's a little rough entering the helix.
Jasper
Well sit in the back. Dont hold on and prepare for one heck of a ride.
Quickwind
I heard the best does a triple corkscrew followed by a half loop/corkscrew with 5 loops in a row. Is this true? if so i must REALLLY prepare for it dot dot dot
pkister
I think thats Vortex dude!
KIBeast
Quickwind is referring to The Vortex. If I'm not mistaken, Son of Beast is the only looping wood coaster in the world.
Quickwind
i'm actually being insanely sarcastic. . . hence the dot dot dot.
KIBeast
Ok. Please use the smilie when being sarcastic. I try to do that so people are not confused.
AZ Kinda Guy
The Beast is overrated. Plain and Simple.
The Interpreter
It seems to be a darn sight more reliable, popular, less expensive to maintain and even more comfortable than its son. Perhaps that is why it is so sad. Parents are always upset when their kids don't turn out as well as they hoped.
Gordon Bombay
The Beast is overrated. Plain and Simple. So is that guy Sparky, looks arent everything I guess.
AZ Kinda Guy
I'm overrated? What?..Either way, The Beast is still overrated. Give me the Screechin Eagle any day. A far superior coaster. Sadly, not in operation.
Gordon Bombay
^I feel for the screechin eagle with you, and I was kidding about you being over rated, I'm a big fan of your posts on here. We met once I think.
coaster-chickie
The Beast is overrated.
