I went to PKI last night Sept. 3 2006 and saw some Fear Fest setup.

Something is going on at the Mine Company for fear fest just look at the pictures.

The stuff in the Mine Company Store is the old stuff from Sleepy Hollow aka Big White Tent. The new name is cowboy carnage.

No... Tents can be a HASSLE to set-up the right way. If set-up the wrong way (even a few inches) the tent can be the wrong size and shape! Tents are really a headache in haunting... but seems to be the "norm" for modular attractions. I'm happy they are putting the "new" attraction indoors! It will be really cool. -Hauntguy

Well, that is good, I guess. But does that mean that there are no technically new haunts this year? Hopefully, they will have a couple of new scare zones/staff Coney Mall better with scaracters so it becomes one giant scare zone. I`m sure all the details will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Be patient people! I`m sure that it will be up soon. They will want to drum up interest in the event so as to attract more people to the park. They are probably working on it, and will launch it when they are ready. A FearFest image is now the main image on the KI homepage, so I doubt it will be much longer before they launch the FearFest site.

Does anyone remeber well they turned Phatom Theater into a haunted house! That was great! I doubt they could do that with Scooby Doo however.

...including banging on the cars (which I did NOT approve of) and throwing rubber snakes on some guests (which I DID approve of, but some guests did not and complained vehemently to GR...saying that being touched was being assaulted, and the practice stopped...)

and note that the caption with the image notes the park name:

Kings Island.

That is all.

That has been there since FearFest's incepteion in 2000, so it doesn't mean anything about Cedar Fair dropping Paramount from the park.

You and me both. PT was unique, it was a great dark ride. Like the Flying Eagles, without Phantom Theater I somehow sense that something is just missing at Kings Island. I feel the same way about King Cobra. I haven't developed the same attachment to the newer rides...except for Delirium (when it's working right) and, of all things, Avatar. Those I like a lot!

Although Scooby is overly bright now, I still think they could pull off a haunted ride in there. After the little children leave, click a button and have cloth comedown to cover up the Scooby Scenes so its pitch black in there, and I think it could easily be scary. But will it happen? No haha.

hopefully ... maybe i doubt it but Cedar Fair could put phantom theatre back in... if they decide to get rid of sdathc.. that would be amazing.. i just hate how people complain about how expensive it was.. so is the Son of Beast but its still up.. dry.gif

If i was in a fire i would much rather be in a nuilding because if you are in a tent then more than likely the thing is going to collapse and you are either going to sufficate, die from smoke inhillation, or get burned to death whereas if you are in a building it is more sturdy and you gave time to get out. But i hope none of those things happen at Fearfest or anywhere else.
