hauntguy Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 No... Tents can be a HASSLE to set-up the right way. If set-up the wrong way (even a few inches) the tent can be the wrong size and shape! Tents are really a headache in haunting... but seems to be the "norm" for modular attractions. I'm happy they are putting the "new" attraction indoors! It will be really cool. -Hauntguy Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I can't wait for fear fest its the best time of the year. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I also have to think that a building is far safer than a tent...from fire safety to weatherwise. . . probably cheaper to insure, too. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 So they are no longer going to be using the Sleeply Hallow Horror tent? Quote
CoastersRZ Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Well, that is good, I guess. But does that mean that there are no technically new haunts this year? Hopefully, they will have a couple of new scare zones/staff Coney Mall better with scaracters so it becomes one giant scare zone. I`m sure all the details will be revealed in the coming weeks. Quote
pkifreak Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 does anyone know when the actual website will be up for this years fearfest, kind of like last years? Quote
CoastersRZ Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Be patient people! I`m sure that it will be up soon. They will want to drum up interest in the event so as to attract more people to the park. They are probably working on it, and will launch it when they are ready. A FearFest image is now the main image on the KI homepage, so I doubt it will be much longer before they launch the FearFest site. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 ... A FearFest image is now the main image on the KI homepage, so I doubt it will be much longer before they launch the FearFest site. and note that the caption with the image notes the park name: Kings Island. That is all. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Does anyone remeber well they turned Phatom Theater into a haunted house! That was great! I doubt they could do that with Scooby Doo however. Quote

I doubt they could do that with Scooby Doo however. ...including banging on the cars (which I did NOT approve of) and throwing rubber snakes on some guests (which I DID approve of, but some guests did not and complained vehemently to GR...saying that being touched was being assaulted, and the practice stopped...) Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I liked the banging on the car I though it was pretty neat. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 But I think it was done while they still thought they were going to be replacing the cars for SDATHC. It was quite loud, and in my opinion, could have easily damaged the ride vehicles. Perhaps it even did. Half of them were removed (for other reasons) for SDATHC. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 True but it they could maybe add a peice of sheet metal where the monsters working could have hit. Quote

The Interpreter Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 So I guess that most of the references on the season pass page to merely: Kings Island also don't mean anything.... Quote
WooferBearATL Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 So I guess that most of the references on the season pass page to merely: Kings Island also don't mean anything.... I figured that it was just pretty well accepted that Paramount was to be removed from everthing. The whole McDonald's buying Wendy's and keeping the Wendy's name, theory. Quote

The Interpreter Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Uh, when the Maestro did his thing, Scooby's show (which was HYSTERICAL) always played next door in the Enchanted Theater. It need not be either OR. It could be both AND. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 You and me both. PT was unique, it was a great dark ride. Like the Flying Eagles, without Phantom Theater I somehow sense that something is just missing at Kings Island. I feel the same way about King Cobra. I haven't developed the same attachment to the newer rides...except for Delirium (when it's working right) and, of all things, Avatar. Those I like a lot! Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I like Tomb Raider the best but the peeps I go with never want to ride it. Quote
StXsteven Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Although Scooby is overly bright now, I still think they could pull off a haunted ride in there. After the little children leave, click a button and have cloth comedown to cover up the Scooby Scenes so its pitch black in there, and I think it could easily be scary. But will it happen? No haha. Jasper Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 If i was in a fire i would much rather be in a nuilding because if you are in a tent then more than likely the thing is going to collapse and you are either going to sufficate, die from smoke inhillation, or get burned to death whereas if you are in a building it is more sturdy and you gave time to get out. But i hope none of those things happen at Fearfest or anywhere else. Quote
beastfan11 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 ^ way to have a positive out look on life lol Quote
