Cedar Point Season Pass Information on Website

Recommended Posts

Cedar Point has season pass information on their web site for 2007. A regular season pass is $94.95 and they have a parking pass for $50. There is no mention of a combination ticket with Geauga Lake and Wild Water Kingdom at this time. Also there is no Combo Pass at this time. You also have the option of a Maxx Pass and a Maxx Plus Pass. Season passes go on sale September 22, 2006.

To summarize:

Cedar Point Only - $94.95

Cedar Fair Maxx Pass - $125 (from CP)

Cedar Fair Maxx Plus Pass - $149.95 (from CP)

Jr/Sr. Cedar Point only - $49.95

Jr/Sr. CF Maxx Plus - $79.95 (no CF Maxx option, they must get PLUS)

Cedar Point Parking Pass - $50 (website says decals)

Joe Cool Club - $15 (A CF Maxx Plus pass gets free Joe Cool if purchased this fall)

Also of note, they inlcude Bofante Gardens in the Maxx tier, as does MiA. PKI has Bofante Gardens as being in the Maxx PLUS tier. Mistake on the PKI site???

Also no word on a joint CP/GL parking pass like they had last year

Oh, and I think putting them on the same Maxx Pass plan eliminated the need for the CP/GL combo pass.

Soooo, it looks like you can go to either park and get the same great deal on the Maxx or Maxx Plus pass, the thing to consider is which park you want season parking privileges at, and which one you are willing to pay the per diem parking charge.

I really hope PKI's parking passes are not a sticker. It works much better if they are on your pass. In this day and age, people have more then one car. Does anyone know how PKI plans on doing there parking passes for 2007? Do any other Cedar Fair park put them on the pass?

Going with a Maxx Pass at every park (except Canada's Wonderland) eliminates some confusion. For 2007, a Maxx Pass at Cedar Point cost less than a 2006 pass at CP with the Geauga Lake add-on. I also like that they're offering Joe Cool Club again - and if you buy a Maxx Plus pass through CP before Nov. 15, you get free Joe Cool!

For parking, however, you may have to get used to stickers or, yet, simply pay the fee at Cedar Fair parks you don't visit often.

The people in Ohio shouldn't have to buy 3 passes in order to get parking included with their pass. Cedar Point and Geauga Lake have put parking on passes in the past years if you buy Joe Cool. This is crazy and confusing how they are doing things this year. I liked it better the way it was last year. Why doesn't Cedar Point sell a Soak City add on? Why not have a pass that includes GL&WWK Michigan's Adventure is selling a combo pass that includes Cedar Point. Paramount pass good for Paramount/Cedar Fair parks. Cedar Point combo good for all Cedar Fair parks. I definately am not buying a Maxx or a Maxx Plus Pass this year until they come out with a parking pass for Ohio people. It sounds better to buy the Maxx/Maxx Plus pass but when you factor in parking Ohio people are better off buying the regular passes if they visit frequently during the summer.

I am thinking the parking pass might not require that you own a season pass from that park. I think its going to be possible to purchase both a Kings Island and a Cedar Point parking pass and just have a single maxx pass. Thats not a very good option and there should be a parking pass for more then one park but for those people who do visit the parks often enough I believe it will be possible.

I have purchased my maxx pass through Kings Island,so i could have the

free parking. I will purchase the parking pass for Cedar Point and not geauga

lake, since the most i will be there is twice. Spending $18 is less than $45. smile.gif

I visited Cedar Point this weekend and I inquired about parking passes and they said you can buy a seperate parking pass for Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, and any other park you want to visit. Is Kings Island going to have a parking pass for sale this season?

And here is what I received when I asked that question:

You must have a Cedar Point or Soak City Season Pass to purchase a Cedar Point Season Parking Pass.

A Cedar Point Season Parking Pass may not be applied to Season Passes from other Cedar Fair, L.P. parks.

Parking at other Cedar Fair, L.P. parks is not included with a Cedar Point Season Parking Pass.

Parking Passes are honored only at the park of season pass issuance, even if included in the price of a season pass.

See, that is where I think that the Maxx pass falls short. If they are going to charge $125 to get admission to all three major parks in Ohio, and you buy a parking pass to one of the three, I think you should get free parking at the other parks. I understand that part of the Cedar Point parking toll goes towards paying a toll for the causeway to the park, which would be fine to not be included in the free parking. But not even offering an upgrade possibility to the Maxx pass for a premium parking pass just seems kind of silly.

I disagree. First of all, complaining about a dumb policy is NOT whining. Second, and far more importantly, you'd be surprised how much changes based on customer input. And this is one of the places where that input is measured. Also, remember, not everyone lives in Cincinnati. I seem to remember a large city that is almost equidistant from Cedar Point, Kings Island and Geauga Lake. Most people there who buy a pass currently get it from only one of those three parks (the people who post on this board are NOT typical, but even most of us have only one season pass, if any at all).

The point is a simple one. If Cedar Fair WANTS people to spend money at their parks, then they should make it enticing for their best customers to visit their other parks. Not selling parking passes to any but one's "home park" is penny wise....and pound foolish. No, it doesn't affect many people. But those it does are among those who are most apt to spend money in the parks. What made sense for a company that was one of three major park operators in a state (Ohio), may not make as much sense when there is only one operator. And what made sense for a company with six dry parks may not make as much sense for a company with eleven.

You guys need to stop whining, it's policy it's not going to change, face it. I really doubt that many of you are going to go to Cedar Point or Geague 5 times in one year. If you do that's great, but I don't see it happening, suck it up and move on, because it's not going to change.

Ahhhh, I'm betting that you prefer to go with that status quo and not make any waves.

I think that if you read the posts throughout the board, you can tell who whines and who brings up legitimate concerns and points.

I must say that I see very little whining on the board.

Not to mention, if two people contacted Cedar Point, and recieved two different answers, it may mean that they still haven't quite finalized all the details. (Hey they have till the park gates open next spring)

Perhaps, someone in charge at Cedar Fair read the pleas for parking privileges at other parks, and their compromise is you can purchase a parking decal with any Maxx Pass (or Maxx Plus pass)

And really, why woulnd't they want to sell you additional parking decals, I mean a $50 deal with $10 parking means you have to go at least 6 times before they start to 'lose' on the deal. Seems like a no-brainer way to enhacne revenue to me. (I've paid $50 extra to get the Maxx Pass, and $50 for the parking decal, thats $100 extra, I need to go to CP more to get my money's worth, whereupon you buy more food and beverage, possibly play some more games, and buy some more souvies.

Remember these are the same people who bungled the SFWoA promotions when they first bought Geauga Lake, but eventually reversed their original decisions. They are a compnay that can be fast acting if they think there is any profit or PR to be made from the enhanced parking perk.

I am going to buy my parking pass at GL this weekend I'll let you know what I'm told but Cedar Point said I can buy a parking pass for both CP and GL and any other park if I want to buy it.

And you can, if you also buy a season pass from the park where you buy the parking pass. Let us know . . . hopefully they HAVE changed this policy.

On Cedar Point's website under the Maxx Pass/Maxx Pass Plus area. You aren't allowed to attend Halloween events at PCWL, PCW, and Knott's. Are they going to change this or have these always been seperate charged events? The only ones you can attend without paying extra are PKI, PKD, VF, CP, WOF, and DP. Essentially they are telling us the season ends in September and Halloween is extra. I hope that they change this because that would stink if we had had to pay extra for Halloween events if we had a season pass prior to 07' and bought it with the intention the season was until the end of October. They did this to GL pass holders this year. Last year we had a Halloween event at Geauga Lake and they cut out Halloween this season and didn't give us a discount for the season pass. I hope they don't do this again with PKI or the other parks that have Halloween events.

Fearfest is included in season pass prices. PKI's fearfest, that is. Wonderland just started doing Fearfest last year and they've charged for it, as has Carowinds for their Scarowinds event. If you want to go to those, you will have to pay no matter what.

PKI's Fearfest, Cedar Point's Halloweekends, etc. don't require a seperate admission.

It's the same as it was last year.

Well, I wouldn`t look for Cedar Fair to pull the plug on FearFest at Kings Island. It has been immensely popular. I mean, just look at how the crowds balloon after diner time in the park!

Yes, FearFest at Canada`s Wonderland, Scarowinds at Carowinds, and Knott`s Scary Farm admission are not included with a Cedar Fair Maxx pass. These events are separate gated events.

KI`s FearFest used to be a separate event from its inception in 2000 through the 2002 season. In 2003, they decided to make it free with park admission and to season pass holders.
