Western Themes for Cedar Fair

Whats the deal with Cedar Fair's desire for Western Themes all of a sudden. With "MAVERICK" at Cedar Point, and "RENEGADE" at ValleyFair, it seems like Kings Island would get something along the line of this as well. No facts related to Kings Island to back this up. Just a thought, really. Renegade looks like a pretty fun ride though.

Maverick is being built in the Frontier Town section of Cedar Point, so naturally they would want to have the ride themed accordingly. That section of the park has needed some attention for some time now.

well Kings Island has rivertown which i'm sure isn't too far from frontier town, but Cedar Fair will probably renaming all the area's within Kings Island

Not trying to be mean, but how does Renegade exactly mean a western theme? Renegade is a very broad word.

Supergreek35, why do you think that Cedar Fair will probably rename all of the themed areas at Kings Island next year? The only two I can see possibly being renamed are the Paramount Action Zone, and Crocodile Dundee`s Boomerang Bay Water Park Resort. Depending what Cedar Fair does with its Paramount license will determine the fate of these areas. But in all liklihood, they will simply loose the Paramount refrencing suffix from their respective names. I think that Nick Universe will be here to stay for a while at the park.

All the other themed areas are fine as they are. Why fix something if it isn`t broken?

The name Maverick by itself does not imply a western theme. However, because of the ride`s location in Cedar Point, that does imply a western theme, which is why Cedar Point is theming that ride in that manner.

For Maverick didn't they have a teaser sign that said something like, "Howdy Folks! Are you ready for some sidewindin'?" Sounds Western to me.

And to kill the rumor before it starts, I wouldn't expect whatever PKI is getting.... if they get anything. To have a Western theme. I'd think totally opposite of that.

Crocodile Dundee`s Boomerang Bay, I would see them just dropping Crocodile Dundee's name. As far as PAZ, you always just hear it called Action Zone anyway. So there you have it. LOL

CP's Frontiertown is abouut 40 years old, and the ride that was on the spot where maverick is now was western theme for its 23 year life. It is only natural maverick gets a western theme.

PGA and PKD have already dropped the name Crocodile Dundee name. The parks are just calling it Boomerang Bay.

Also if Kings Island gets a new thrill ride look at Coney Mall when was the last time it got a thrill ride?

I hope it stays Boomerang bay, because I still haer people call it waterworks so imagine if there was another name chang! you'd here BB WW and whatever is next it would be insane!!!

Vortex, last time I checked, Kings Dominion didn`t have Boomerang Bay. They still have the old name of their water park, WaterWorks. Although, from what I`ve heard, that may change next season...

I have never been to Boomerang Bay so i wouldnt really care if they changed the name and i call Parmaount Action Zone just Action Zone anyway so they will probably just drop Paramount. Speaking of Paramount i watched Face/Off last night and it was a pretty good movie. :thumbsup:
