Everyone from pkic should take a trip up to Geauga Lake. If you guys havent been there, its an amazing park! The new Wildwater Kingdom is amazing, it is so nice up there. The rides are pretty sweet. Dominator is amazing. The villian is so intense! Steel venom is a good thrill! AHH its so swee there.

Just pick a day. The park opens memorial day weekend.

I can think of many words for Villan. Intense would be about the most polite I can think of.

The Big Dipper is perhaps the best wooden coaster in Ohio.

Steel Venom is a fantastic ride, when it is open...

And X-Flight...oh, wait! :)

Geauga Lake also has excellent pizza!

The villian will be fixed next year, venom will be open, and x-flight was far from the greatest coaster there.

And yes, the pizza is sweet.

Everyone should go opening weekend or the weekend after

We went up on a friday in July I think. The night before we stayed in Aurora ohio....one of the most depressing towns I've ever been in. It was a nice city, but everyone looked so so so so so so sad. I think she was just a regualr ride op, she was driving while the other girl checked. GL wasnt a bad park, it has some issues to work out, but not a bad park at all. And whats with that rule where you cant take photographs in line? I kept getting yelled at for that.

You cant take it on the platform because of safety reasons.

No Geauga Lake is not a bad park. I think removing x-flight was a good idea to fix up some problems, anyways they have dominator. i cant wait till it opens!

What safety reasons are those? I can understand from the platform so as not to distract ride operators or get in the way of operations or the train moving but I was in the queue line when an operator at x flight shouted at me from the platform. Granted, I have no problem complying with the rule and I oput my camera away, but as a former ride operator myself I just dont see the need for such a rule.

GL is a nice park and a good way to spend a day up in that region. I know when I went up there about 4 years ago there was a pretty cool little aquarium and some aquatic animals (across the lake from the theme park); is that still there? Also I think Cedar Fair made a great decision on making the park a bit smaller, it seemed to big and awkward when six flags owned it. I have a feeling I will be making a trip up there sometime soon, possibly stop there and then hit up Cedar Point.

Also to add onto CombatStupendous's comment about Aurora, I stayed up in Canton back in 2002 when Elder was in the state championship game for football. That city was also pretty nice in the downtown area, but it seemed dead. That night after the game the only people that could be found driving in the city were those who were at the game. Hmm maybe there is something going on up in that region that is kept secret.

agreed... or when six flags bought the animal side they could have kept it 2 seprate parks and made a lot more money.

But i dont mind not having hte animals, the animals six flags were not even that good. Wildwater Kingdom is very nice and they should redo the ride side of geauga lake just like it.

1. hydes

2. bel-air express

3. x-flight

all very expensive to maintain.

The ride side needs to fix a lot up including new food places, new midways, midway music, lighting ect...

WWK is very sucessful and always packed and wishing that for the ride side means nothing. There is no reaso why Cedar Fair would remove anything that isnt expensive to run and maintain. The ride side isnt going to be turned into a waterpark eaither.

Cedar Fair bought the park for 145 million dollars... that was a really good price seeing that six flags paid 110 million just for seaworld.

In 2006 they predicted GL not even to break 700,000... yet it hit over 750,000 with a shorter season...

MiA dosnt even hit close to that. When it was 1st bought it was barely even 420 000. Dorney also had troubles in its 1st years and then sooner or later it hit 1 million
