Reclaimer
Kings Dominion has posted information on their 2007 Season Pass Benefits...yes, you heard me...season pass benefits. They include: Walk-On Wednesdays No waiting in line on Wednesdays for some of the park̢۪s most popular rides. Limit first 1,500 season passholders each Wednesday--pick up a pass at the Season Pass building. Priority Access to WaterWorks Get into WaterWorks a 1/2 hour (11:30am) before the general public to grab a lounge chair or favorite spot! Water attractions open at 12pm. First In Line Privileges Come early and be the first in line on your favorite ride. Season Passholders gain early entrance to be the first to ride when the park opens. Preferred Parking We've set aside 500 preferred parking spaces for our Season Passholders! Save 10% on Scooby Bucks Passholders save 10% when they purchase Scooby Bucks. Something I found interesting is the preferred parking spaces are still around. More info: http://www2.paramountparks.com/kingsdomini...sinfo/index.cfm edit: Carowinds also has pass perks up. The Interpreter
500 preferred spaces sure doesn't seem like many.... I admit I am surprised at the walk-on Wednesdays and first in line privileges....I assume Maxx passholders qualify...

Avatar
I thought Wednesdays were typically the slowest day of the week, so then why would season pass holders need a pass for that day? I think that they are just trying build attendance up for Wednesdays. So I must ask when is a Perk Not A Perk?
KI-ORIG-EMP
To the best of my knowledge by working in the admission dept is that the only perk for seasson pass holders to be removed is the "gold" pass parking area. Lets face it, on the slow days for them to bring a friend free day and early ride times are on the slow days and have more spending while they are in the park. The Interpreter
I hope to heavens they are not keeping the BAFF days all the same for all passholders. That just brings a horde of soon-to-be very unhappy people to the park. Not smart.
Avatar
So are they trying to give perks to them selves or perks to get more guest to buy season passes, who will in turn come more often therefore spend more money over several visits. Or less useful perks, but try to entice the current season pass holders into spending more for an extra ½ hour. Hmmm
The Interpreter
If they are trying to get guests to spend more while they are in the park, it seems strange that they are cutting hours of operation!
CoastersRZ
I concur. It would be wiser, to give pass holder a ticket, to use on selected days (say ten days) throught the summer months to use. That way, they won`t be getting insanely large crowds on those days, although they may be large. While they may make a lot of money on food and games on those days, the guest experience on BAFF days is terrible. It would be wise, if they want to continue that practice of giving pass holders tickets, to alter how they do them. Back around 1998 and 1999, when you would renew your pass in the fall, they would give you a ticket that would be good for each pass holder to bring a friend for any day the park was open the rest of that season. For example, when my family bought our 1999 passes in September of 1998, we would get one ticket for each pass that our family bought, and they would be good the rest of the 1998 season. This was before the days of Fear Fest, but it still would distribute the crowds that are using these free tickets over more days.
fan of beast
in 2005, they would let season passholders occasionally get a bring a friend ticket that was good for certain days. in 2006, they went to the BAFF on 2 or 3 days during the season. we took friends to one of these days and will never make that mistake again. the park was well beyond max capacity. The Interpreter
I have non-park enthusiast friends who went on a BAFF day last year, and most of them now say they will NEVER ever go to Kings Island again. You can't convince them it isn't ALWAYS like that.
CoastersRZ
Fan of Beast, they haven`t given pass holders to KI a ticket that was good for a select number of days in several years (like 2003 or 2002). Otherwise, they have done the select number of BAFFD. I refuse to go to the park on those days, because I know how bad it is. Just like the final days of the 2005 season, when each pass holder essentially got a blank check for ten tickets the final weekend of the season (the first weekend in November of that year). The park was mobbed. Add to that they were busy preparing for WinterFest (RiP).
Avatar
I took my family that last weekend of 2005 and I will NEVER EVER go on a BAFFD again!!! So to me BAFFD is not a useful perk for us. I must say I am very excited to see change coming to Kings Island. But I haft to be truthful and say as far as perks, early season pass processing and parking benefits Paramount did an exceptional job. I think Cedar Fair is falling way short in those areas and it shows, especially with the season pass fiasco last fall.
The Interpreter
Just wait for the season parking pass decal fiasco of the spring, yet to come.
CoastersRZ
That is one thing that I am NOT looking forward too. That just has disaster written all over it, not to mention a public relations nightmare.
WooferBearATL
It really was not bad to have a decal on your vehicle. Granted, I prefer the parking privilidges on the pass as I can drive the Jeep or my Motorcycle to the parks now.
The Interpreter
Woofer, the decals at Cedar Fair go on the OUTSIDE of your windshield and must be applied by park employees--not YOU. I agree, I have no issue with the decal system that SFOG DID use....GAd tried the CF system for about four days last summer. It's amazing how mad it makes people. KI-ORIG-EMP
Just wait for the season parking pass decal fiasco of the spring, yet to come. Thanks....I will be working at the toll booths....It was much easier having the parking on the season pass. We only had to scan it. Now if that is true, we will have to look for the decal on the car. Time will tell.... Mike
cstrwomann
I vote that they put it on the passes again now that they have an all Ohio parking pass why can't they do this?
The Interpreter
Because they don't want to. Cedar Fair owns the parks now, and customers don't get to vote, except whether or not to visit the park and spend money. Now when the car with the parking decal is in the shop, many will vote to go to the movies or even to The Beach or a baseball game. They'll figure it out. It may take them awhile. In the past, you could get a decal OR have the parking on your pass at Cedar Point, too. Now the decal is apparently going to be the ONLY option.
