BoddaH1994
After a short stop by our very quiet and closed Kings Island, I have shot some high resolution shots of the mystery materials being staged in the parking lot. In addition to the neon green track, several grey supports can be seen being staged with the track. You will also notice that workers were using a fork lift to move pieces of the track from the truck to the staging area while empty trucks left and full trucks arrived. Click here to see photos! Regards, Ryan PKICentral.com - Two updates in two days for you because one won't do.
mutedarkness
Those supports are black... well they use to be. They are X-flight's old supports.
RailRider
^ Thank you Mr. Obvious... One more reasson X-Flight will receive a new paint job, err I mean that mystery ride will receive a new paint job. Thanks once again for the photos. tycoonrebel7188
^HAHA Yea that tracks lookin just a little rusty....only a little bit.
Delirium13
Anybody else find it ironic thta they are dropping the track in the Drop Zone sectiond of the parking lot? But anyways nice pictures, I keep getting more and more excited. Edit-Actually after looking at a few more picture it looks more like they are in the Adventure Express section. Oh well, close enough. tubaman
So, how much does the rust effect the structure of the ride? And, thanks for the pics. They are really good!
pkifootballer
This is great!...that would definetly be x-flight because there's rust on the ends of the supports; which show signs of use. Most likely it will be coming to Kings Island be cause there's no reason to unload that much track at this location. So this is very good news!=)
Outdoor Man
Congrats on being listed on an article in the online edition of the Enquirer. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...WS01/301240036/
PKIVortex
Well that confirms the announcement won't take place until Monday 2/5/07. So we'll have to wait another week and a half. That's okay we already know LOL.
Mr.Son of Beast
This is great! Now I wonder when they will start construction...
PKIVortex
They already started, land cleared, I'm sure that most if not all of the footings are done. Now they just have to wait for all the supports to arrive, and I'm sure this thing will go up fast. It sure hasn't taken long for it to come down. RailRider
Well with supports on site I would imagine vertical construction will start in February. Also I would say all track and supports will be on site before the end of January. Been a long time since theres been an arial picture of the construction site, so I would imagine a lot of things have changed since then. Especially with the mild ohio weather. They will basically have 3 months of construction time to get the ride up and running before the park opens. If weather holds off this thing might be open in April. tycoonrebel7188
^^Technically they dont have to wait for all of the supports arrive. They could start construction as soon as 1 piece of support were to arrive.
RailRider
^ Agreed, I would say the supports that have arrived go with the track that has arrived, that way they dont have stuff laying around. Can basically get it off the flat bed, inventory it, and transport it directly to the construction site to construct it.
coastergirl
I was driving home from work today and I passed a Semi with X flight track on it. It was very cool. It is going through Columbus now on I-71 and should be down your way in an hour or 2.
RingMaster
I got this strange feeling that the "announcement" will occur before February 5th, if you know what I mean. (Rehires'll know what I mean. Hopefully. Otherwise, your mail carriers suck.)
pyrocoasterkid
What is the "mystery" in these materials? Clearly, it's all track and supports, more than likely, X flight...lol
fryler87
Wow, track is really flying in fast. As for the construction, you can't just start erecting support columns whenever you please-there's a method to the madness. Although the order of structure erection is fairly flexible, you don't want to start putting up columns and find yourself trapped in the track's circuit. The Interpreter
I was driving home from work today and I passed a Semi with X flight track on it. It was very cool. It is going through Columbus now on I-71 and should be down your way in an hour or 2. If it's down my way by then: (a) somebody driving that truck got REALLY lost, and ( drove really, really fast! --Terpy, who knew what you meant, but just had to, and will be here all week

Jasper
This just gos to show even when you are trying to keep something a secret you cant keep it from our keen senses at PKIC. I cant wait to ride X-Flight even though i am sure that the lines will be long for it. The first time i go up there this year i am expecting about an hour to two hour wait. I might skip out until next season. Nice pics Boddah.
Beast79
I can't wait. I got to ride it in 2001 and I've been wanting to ride it since. There is going to be alot of good hard workers, working their tails off to get it completed.
TQZ
I think they are going to change the name to "Son Of Reptar" Sorry... Lame I know... I just had to.
RailRider
Driving in to work this morning I heard an interview on 700 WLW with Maureen regarding the neon green coaster track arriving on site. She would not confirm it was X-Flight or that it was coming from up North, but did say that the new coaster was the major part of this years additions to the park. Her main comment was that we will have to wait till next week to see what is happening at Kings Island in 2007. Also the reporter in the studio was refered to Geauga Lake as Geeega Lake. Nothing like a little humor to start your morning off.
Thrill_Biscuit
Oh, Quit hyperspeculating! It's X-Flight! X-Flight! X-Flight! Geesh! It's like people at Carowinds in 2005, seeing parts of a blue and white flat ride showing up in their parking lot, with eagle-looking scooter cars, saying, "It MIGHT be the flyers from PKI, but they COULD just be storing them in our parking lot..." Man, I hope I get you guys on my jury if I ever get in trouble for anything - Just kidding. Great pics!
flightoffear1996
Yes I love the pictures you guys took and how you have worked so hard to keep this website the number one Kings Island site.

UncleHenry
Whats the point in another update? It's track. If you want to see track in our parking lot, look at the pictures they already have. We don't need another update unless something other than track and supports show up.
