Good point.

How are they going to handle the ice in the PT? Will they put a rink on the stage, or will they remove the stage and have the ice on ground level? I know they have the flammable hazard storage below the stage, but is there flooring between the stage and the lower level?

^ yeah, "Paramount on Ice" was in the PT early in Paramount's ownership ('93?). It was a pretty good show...in fact, BGT did a knock off of it a few years later called "Hollywood on Ice" that was a very similar show. I think they also ran an ice show in the Festhaus at one point too, but to be honest, it's all somewhat vague to me now.

Does anyone remember the "Cheers" show they did in the Festhaus? Now that was really bad :D

I'm holding out hope that CF will dust off the old "Celebration" show and bring it back :)

I'm pretty sure at one point in time there was an ice show in the PT, so it probably has the capability still unless the stage has been modified.

You're right. It was there the past two or so years before it was axed. I've been all though the PT... inside and out and stuff have no idea how they do it. However if you want an interesting tidbit, there are still tape markings on the floor in the storage area on the left side of the stage for the ice performers.

Cypress Gardens has an ice show in a nearly identical facility, its not bad but not the greatest show that i have ever seen. The water skiing show which they are known for though was spectacular!

The ice show stage was/will be a different deck than what is currently on the stage at the Paramount Theater. I think that essentially what they have done before is just build a basic ice rink on top of the existing stage floor with some protection and equipment in between the two.

Festhaus is just such a shadow of what Paramount allowed it to become. It seems that CF is on the right track with things (at least from the rumors) and there is hope that it can once again be a great location.
