BoddaH1994 Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Firehawk is still months away from giving its first flights but it is quickly beginning to take shape! Vertical supports begin to go up as the section closest to Flight of Fear’s queue area finally begins to look like what it will be: a flying coaster! Contractors are hard at work to get Firehawk ready to open on Memorial Day weekend as scheduled. The station will begin to be installed within the next few days, and track will be erected within the next few weeks! A special thanks, once again, to Maureen Kaiser for taking the time out of her day to cruise over to the construction site with me in style (thanks Lexy!) and allow me to take these photos for you. Thank you! Click here to see the photos! Regards, Ryan KingsIslandCentral.com - Always remember: you're unique, just like everyone else. Quote
touchdown62 Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 That looks so sexy! Everything about it looks awesome, even the nuts and bolts. I can't wait to ride that animal (almost said "that beast," but that would show disrespect to the best coaster in all the land). Quote
Tuskin Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 omg thats really starting to come together nicely i cannot wait to see the station starting to be built and i wonder what it will look like Quote
Erosarrow05 Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I know this has been answered before somewhere but what color is the ride being painted? Furthermore - why is the primer such an odd color? Quote
Tuskin Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 i believe the color is suppose to be a brick red .. thus why the color would be such a brownish color so when they put the red ontop it works good Quote
PKIDelirium Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 And tinted primer will help to prevent the green from bleeding through. Quote
PKIVortex Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 The final color will go on once the track is up. Notice the supports haven't been touched yet either. With the warm weather, I bet they moving right along with the construction. Quote
Jasper Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Wow that is really starting to take shape. And at a fast pace to. I can hardly wait to ride it. Quote
tubaman Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I WANT A Firehawk SHIRT, AND I WANT IT NOW! But anyways...It's really starting to come together nicely. Hopefully I'll get a chance to ride it this year. Quote
WhoDeyForever Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Lookin good..although as the opening gets closer..I am kinda fearing it more... Quote
TopThrill Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 We drove by the construction site today, its really neat seeing that iron be lifted into thin air like it was nothing. Quote
