March 28, 200719 yr As many of you may know, I am studying digital design. One of my major projects this quarter is to create an interactive website covering some aspect of Cincinnati. Of course, I will be basing my website as a promotional site for Kings Island. Before I begin work on my project, I have a survey that I will be sending out to people to get an idea of what people would like to see in this sort of thing. EDIT: Look down at the post 6 posts down. I have changed my concept slightly. Any suggestions on that concept would be appreciated.

Yes 9. If yes to question 8, would you want to know more about local hotels? Yes. 10. Have you ever visited Kings Island’s official website? (www.pki.com) Yes. 12. If you answered yes to answer 12, what would you change about it to make it a more enjoyable experience? I'd put on some on- ride videos of some of the major thrill rides, and possibly a history section.
March 28, 200719 yr Author Remember, this website is a promotional piece. The goal would be to get people to come to the park. History section wouldn't be good, because we want to get people coming to the park this year, not come to the 1993 version of the park.
March 28, 200719 yr Oh... I just realized what 12 meant. lol. I'd say add a good video for every attraction, more photos and details of all the entertainment, food, shopping etc. Possibly even teaser videos of the live shows and such.
March 28, 200719 yr Remember, this website is a promotional piece. The goal would be to get people to come to the park. History section wouldn't be good, because we want to get people coming to the park this year, not come to the 1993 version of the park. You underestimate the power of history...many people will attend a park for its historical significance. This is afterall why we have ACE, Historical socieities, Smithsonean institute. The same people that belong to this group would be more motivated to visit KI if they knew the importance of RACER. Another big reason that people go to Disney World or Land?? They know about its history! You may want to include a small historical tidbit on your site! It can only add, noone will think they are visiting a 1993 park if you tuck it away, but make it accesible to those who would be quite interested!
March 28, 200719 yr Author OK, after having a meeting with my teacher, I have decided to focus the project on Nickelodeon Universe. Our goal for the project is to do something that offers something new and different from something already out there. My vision is to do an interactive and entertaining website aimed at younger kids to advertise for Nickelodeon Universe. I feel that the Nick Universe section on KI's website is boring for younger kids, and aimed more at adults. I think that if the area is aimed at kids, why shouldn't the website for the area? If the kid plays on the site, then begs their parents to take them to KI, then my goal is accomplished. So yeah, if anyone has any ideas for a site based on younger audiences, that would be greatly appreciated.
March 28, 200719 yr If you're going to make the site more child friendly, make the links large and colorful. Kids may be confused if there are a lot of links. You could make it look like, ironicaly, www.nick.com.
March 28, 200719 yr 1. Have you ever been to Kings Island? Yes 2. If yes to question 1, what do you enjoy about the park? Rollercoasters 3. If no to question 1, what type of information would you like to know about the park? 4. How old are you? 26 5. If you visited the park, would young children be visiting with you? no 6. How much time do you spend on the computer each day? 3 - 4 hrs 7. What kind of attractions would you like to know more about? Rollercoasters/Thrill Rides 8. Would you be spending several days at the park? No 9. If yes to question 8, would you want to know more about local hotels? 10. Would a person in your group have health issues that may prevent that person from enjoying the major thrill rides? (Heart condition, pregnancy, broken bones) No 11. Have you ever visited Kings Island’s official website? (www.pki.com) Yes 12. If you answered yes to answer 12, what would you change about it to make it a more enjoyable experience? More pics of the rides in the park, more facts about the park.
March 28, 200719 yr You might have an area where random photos of a kid and one of the walkaround Nick characters are featured...it would show a photo and say something like "Cindy Age 8 from Nashville, TN with Spongebob"...you could pretend that either the park supplied them or the parents sent them in. (Kind of like the birthday greetings feature that the Noggin TV channel has.)
March 28, 200719 yr 1. Have you ever been to Kings Island? Yes 2. If yes to question 1, what do you enjoy about the park? Roller coasters 3. Would you be spending several days at the park? No (I live 1/2 hour from the park) 9. If yes to question 8, would you want to know more about local hotels? 10. Have you ever visited Kings Island’s official website? (www.pki.com) Yes 12. If you answered yes to answer 12, what would you change about it to make it a more enjoyable experience? Change the website name because "www.pki.com" still references to Paramount. Try to get kingsisland.com or kings-island.com. Also, more pictures, video like Cedar Point's site has. Maybe even introduce a blog. EDIT: Now that I've read UncleHenry's revision... Give the Nick Universe section some great photos, videos, and special pages for the larger rides (Odd Coaster, Reptar, Avatar, etc.)
