tycoonrebel7188
It seems that this year some employees will have to find another way to Kings Island for work. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...0040/1056/COL02

That really sucks! One thing I miss about Chicago, is their public transportation. I loved being able to hop into a cab if I didn't feel like driving, but the kids who rely on this are getting screwed here.
PKIVortex
Which I hope it doesn't effect the ability of the park to have plenty of workers. I know when they brought in the international employees to work, this was how they got back and forth to work, so I don't know what this mean for KI. Probably not a good thing. Browntggrr
Which I hope it doesn't effect the ability of the park to have plenty of workers. I would have to guess since we are less than a week away from opening day the park should have most of it's work force already in place. If there were not enough employees to justify the costs of the buses, CF simply cancelled it.
CoastersRZ
The park is not opposed to helping pay for the Metro service, as the article states, they just don`t want to be the only ones funding the service. And, it likely was a decision of money. I`m sure that the park could find better uses for that money, especially with Cedar Fair in so much debt. That being said, it will be interesting to see what, if any, impact this will have on the park being able to appropriately staff the park. coasterville
There is an update: http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art...WS01/304180046/ Looks like Hamiton County has earmarked the money to pay for the bus service. Personally I think what Kings Island did was brilliant. First they get out of having to pay for the bus service themselves knowing that some government agency would more than likely pick it up. Shrewd and risky yes, expecially if no one bought their bluff, but it looks like it will work out. Those that use that bus service will still be able to ride the bus, and the park just slashed $90,000/year out of their budget that can go towards other park imporvements. Never mind that all of us that pay propety taxes into Hamilton County will be the ones paying the $90,
Shman
Well I personally think that it was strange that the park was paying for this service to begin with. This route was not exclusive to the use of associates. Would Metro have had to drop its park & ride location at KI with the elimination of this route? italianchef
Maybe we can get Cincinnati to pay for a KI Central bus that picks us up and takes us directly to our houses. Wouldn't that be cool? Italian Chef
The Interpreter
Hmmm...wonder if I could also talk it into making stops in Atlanta, Tampa, Jackson [New Jersey], New York City, Elysburg [Pennsylvania] and Sandusky, Ohio?
