I so agree about In-N-Out...when I'm on the west coast, it's one of the very first places I go! They've resisted the urge to franchise and over expand, and have really kept the quality and integrity of the brand in place.

I didn't realize there were no 7-Eleven's in Cincinnati...I guess the hometown UDF brand provides too much of a barrier to entry. There are 7-Eleven's in Columbus, but not nearly as many as there are UDFs and Dairy Marts (the former "Lawsons" chain). I used to live a few blocks from 7-Eleven's headquarters in Dallas, and you couldn't throw a rock there without hitting two or three 7-11 stores :)
