June 5, 200719 yr Ok I know there has been a lot of talk all over this forum about adding a B&M floorless or inverted coaster, a hyepr coaster, and of course a bathroom back by x-base. Well there are 2 things that have been bothering me about the park for awhile now and I think should be fixed let me know what you think. First I think IJST should have been build in Action Zone it's a much better fit for the ride and the park area. Days of thunder could go and KI could get a really nice go-kart track and mini-golf course (maybe) in the future like Cedar Point and valleyfair and im sure some other Cedar Fair parks have. Also if Adventure Express were moved to Rivertown, i have no idea if this is possible and if it even is it will prob never happen but it seems to make so much more sense to me, you know where that giant pond is. Also this way IJST would def fit where days of thunder is. Lastly we'd be left with a big open area where Adventure Express used to be, would be a perfect spot for all of you who want a new B&M coaster, and it would be a perfect fit for the new Xbase now we just need those bathrooms and a couple flat rides. (Honestly I wouldn't be suprised if the B&M floorless "Dominator" at GL found its way to KI before too long cause I think GL is going down). Oh and then they could build a old fashioned cars again and possibly a ferris wheel where IJST is now and Coney Mall would once again deserve to be called Coney Mall. Also just kill Oktoberfest already. Sorry I am really big on the whole themeing and seperate areas of the park and Id really like to see Cedar Fair keep up with it and add on to it. Let me know what you think of these ideas.
June 5, 200719 yr Cedar Fair is not in a monetary condition to allow just moving coasters around in the park. Where they are is where they will stay for the foreseeable future, unless they leave the park entirely...

Well i know it'll never happen Im just saying in a perfect world thats how KI should be layed out.

Let me know what you think of these ideas. I totally agree with you. Sometimes it seems like the rides at KI were placed randomly (an Indian Jones themed ride (AE) in Oktoberfest, IJ in Coney Mall, TR:TR in Rivertown, Scooby-Doo on International Street, and anything in Action Zone since I don't feel that "Action" is a theme unless the rest of KI was just benches and scenery). Hopefully CF can try to re-theme KI some what because one of the reasons that Disney stands out in my mind (among many many things) is their intense themeing and attention to detail.

Of coruse I mean to be honest (IMO) most of the rides at Disney esp Magic Kingdom are old crappy rides, but their imense amount of theming and effects make them more fun than a start of the art brand new ride that was plopped down in a fenced off section of the parking lot. And this is one thing I think a lot of amusment parks are just now starting to pick up on (Maverick).

Rock n' Roller Coaster is so much smoother than FoF and it has themeing around the track in the building, Mission:Space feels like lift off (so says actual astronauts), Soarin' is one of Disney's most popular rides (feels like hang gliding over CA), and I don't know if any other company has $100M to put down on a ride like Disney did on Expedition Everest. I love the fact that CF decided to start building themed coasters like Maverick. I can't wait to ride it. And it makes me even more excited since they now own KI and we'll hopefully be receiving a nicely themed while still thrilling coaster.

And I want to ride all the rides you just listed esp Expedition Everest SO bad, but Im going to DisneyLand in a few weeks so at least Ill get to ride Soarin.

One of the biggest mistakes that Disney did with the Magic Kingdom was turn ExtraTERRORestial Alien Encounter into that stupid Stitch ride. That was the last thing they've done to it I believe... pretty disappointing. Disneyland is still really fun. You HAVE to ride Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, Space Mountain since they re-did it in 2005 (it is a lot more exciting now), Soarin' (like you said), California Screamin', and Tower of Terror.
June 5, 200719 yr ...and the Sunwheel! I haven't rode the Sunwheel so I really can't suggest it. But MaliBOOMer, which is right by it, is good fun.
June 5, 200719 yr If you hate Ferris Wheels in general, you would really hate that one! It, and Deno's WonderWheel, are devilishly clever rides! http://www.wonderwheel.com
June 5, 200719 yr I really like how this thread is still on topic. How about KI gets a Wonderwheel but instead of the sun in the middle like at California Adventure they put Kinzel's face?
June 5, 200719 yr Author I mean it does really need a Ferris Wheel and he already named a fort after himself so why not.
June 5, 200719 yr I was about to Photoshop a picture of what it would look like but I couldn't find a good shot of Kinzel.
June 5, 200719 yr I am a very big fan of MrPKI's proposal of... http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/5295/ki...ideideasqi2.jpg esp. the Dive Coaster around the lake in Rivertown. It could dive right in front of the edge of the water or even dive right in the middle. And also make sure to remove as few trees as possible and keep it kinda hidden. That would be pretty awesome.
June 5, 200719 yr Maybe an "alien encounter" type dark ride in that open XBase lot... that would be sweet! -Hauntguy
June 5, 200719 yr Author Maybe an "alien encounter" type dark ride in that open XBase lot... that would be sweet! -Hauntguy That would be sweet but Im still set on a floorless B&M *cough* Dominator *cough*
June 5, 200719 yr Author I dk if anyone here has ridden it, but a ride similar to revenge of the mummy but alien themed would be FREAKIN AWESOME for xbase.
June 5, 200719 yr That would be sweet but Im still set on a floorless B&M *cough* Dominator *cough* Dominator looks great and all, but I'd much rather get something original and unique. I really want to see a shiny new B&M hyper with a layout kind of mixing up a hyper-twister and a traditional air-time filled hyper. As twisty as the two Giovanola hypers but as much air time as Goliath at SFOG.

I agree id like to see a new coaster too but it really doesn't look like thats something CF would invest in for awhile, they need to pay off their debt first (un-like six flags). And it just happens that GL is falling apart so I wouldn't be suprised if we got dominator.
June 5, 200719 yr Perhaps that other company realizes that if you pay off your debt too quickly, you risk not re-investing enough in the business to keep the customers coming and/or charging such high prices that they don't keep coming. Then again, it IS that other company that charges single day ticket buyers $15 to park at most of its parks. Both companies realize that it's not just coasters that parks need, though.
June 5, 200719 yr I would be happy with a couple flat rides or a really good dark ride in X Base next year.
June 6, 200719 yr Author I would be happy with a couple flat rides or a really good dark ride in X Base next year. Both would be awesome, and don't take much time or money to plan, just like re-locating a coaster. It's cheaper and doesn't take 3 years to plan so they could build a couple flat rides or a dark ride next year, and re-locate dominator the year after that or maybe even 2010. Just a guess. Also does anyone know if it's a proven fact that KI was the top park in the Paramount chain Im assuming it was but I dont know for a fact.

In that area labeled "5," it looks big enough for an S&S Screaming Swing. I think that would be a good ride for KI, they're a lot of fun and can easily be put in in the next few years. This is, of course, all speculation.
