Two Fold Question

What exactly is the policy of "No Loose Articles" for Firehawk. I usually keep my glasses in a fanny pack when I go to parks. Does this apply to me? If so, how much are the lockers? Also, how crowded has the park been on Saturdays so far? I'm planning to go on the 16th, so anything will help. I know it's going to be crowded, but I don't know wheter I should try and ride Firehawk, or use the ride's "new" status to just crush rides on other rides. Thanks in advance.

Large items that cannot be secured can not be brought onto the ride and must be put into a locker. Glasses are okay if they are strapped on your face, or you can put them in your pocket, I would recommend cargo shorts. I believe fanny packs are okay.

I would recommend cargo shorts.

At the ride they say that you're allowed to have like cell phones and other things with you as long as they are in cargo pockets. They don't suggest you leaving things in the regular pockets by your waist since they can fall out easily with all the flips and you won't be able to get them back.

I don't understand why they don't put a couple loose article boxes/bins in the middle of Firehawk's station. I would guess because they want to earn money on the lockers, but in that case why haven't they taken away the boxes and bins on all the other rides?

Edit: Post 100!...........A local after 2 years

They are not really that much room in the station between the 2 tracks. What I noticed and seemed to have changed in just a week, they did have a little plastic binthey were letting people put stuff in. I didn't see any such bin yesterday.

It really is funny how the park has such a gray area as to what loose items are.

It is rather well known that on TTD, you cannot have loose items. I always wear tight sunglass straps. On one of my HallowWeekend trips a few years ago my father did not have straps. Since I had deep pockets, I offered to carry his sunglasses. Well this transaction took place at the ride entrance. The young lady doing her checks mentioned that I could not do that. I started to explain that this is allowed, and she flipped out on me screaming about how I don't know the rules. Instead of getting into an arguement, I let her go on, and on, and on for a few minutes. She was so vocal that a CP security guard came over to see what the commotion was. Finally she stopped. I than asked her where the lockers were. She pointed them out (yes I knew where they were at). I then asked her if there were straps on the locker keys, she said some do, some don't. I than asked her what the difference was between putting a key in my pocket vs. putting sunglasses in my pocket, or for that matter, leaving my wallet in my pocket. She had no response. I politely told her to have a nice day and started into the line. She than screamed at the security guard for not doing anything. The guard just sat there and smiled at her, and told her she was wrong.

The point is, everyone has a different take on what is or is not allowed. The parks really need to be more clear as to what their policy is.

Two of the five times I have been to the park this year have been Saturdays. In both cases, many lines were outside (or nearly-outside) their ques by 3:00, but both trips were before Firehawk's opening.

My advice: Get in line for Firehawk at 10, but if it doesn't open within 1/2 hour or so, try riding it in the evening when the crowds start to die down. Also keep an eye on the ride throughout the day, because you might be lucky and catch it opening (or about to open) after some down-time, causing the line to be much shorter. The ride is definitely worth waiting 1-2 hours in my opinion. Other rides should be shorter due to Firehawk's crowd, especially in the morning. (as was the case my last two visits.)

Thanks, guys. I didn't think fanny (or waist packs) would be an issue. It looks like we're going to get the two day admission thing this year. So if I don't get to ride it on Saturday, I'll definitely make it a priority to ride on the second visit. I'm absoulutely getting a season pass next year.
