Beast08 Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 LOL, well you have to have a little fun with it. If ya know what I mean, your just as guilty. why would they move all of those great rides to Kings Island in 1 year? So are they going to close Cedar Point? Quote

Beast08 Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 So what will that make KI's coaster count next year after all of the rides are moved there? Quote
FOFirehawkFAN Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 So what will that make KI's coaster count next year after all of the rides are moved there? Somewhere up in the 30s Quote
Beast08 Posted June 8, 2007 Author Posted June 8, 2007 WOW CP only has 17 coasters this year. CF must think KI is the park that will make the most money if all this is true. Quote
beastbreakdown Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Hah.. Oh my... I am for sure renewing my pass next year to Kings Island. Quote

PKIVortex Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Didn't you hear KI will be the only CF park next year, they moving all of CF's coasters to KI. Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Oh, no. Hydra at Kings Island? Say it isn't so. Quote
padfoot714 Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 You guys are all wrong. They are moving all of the KI rides to GL and only keeping the water park here. Quote
Beast08 Posted June 10, 2007 Author Posted June 10, 2007 What? So The Beast is being moved to GL? We arn't going to get TTD? Quote
padfoot714 Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Well that was a fun diversion there but lets bring this topic back on track a little. Is there any chance that TTD would be taken out to make way for a new ride within the next 10 years? Kinzel really seems to hate it and it also has all sorts of mechanical problems all the time. It probably has the most downtime of any ride in the park. One the other hand it is a really popular ride and it was very expensive. What are your thoughts guys? Quote
PKIVortex Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Well we know that Kinzel said that the was the investment at CP that he regrets. It's possible it could come down in 10 years, just depends on if the cost of maintaining the ride out weights the benifit of keeping the ride at CP. I hope that makes sense, I can't sleep. Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 Well, it looks like Son of Beast may make it to its tenth birthday and it is has been at least as problematic as Top Thrill. Messrs Shapiro and Snyder adore Kingda Ka about as much as Mr. Kinzel does Top Thrill Dragster. I would not be surprised if at least two of the following four rides are not around ten years from now: Top Thrill Dragster, Kingda Ka, Mean Streak, and Son of Beast. I am not predicting that, but I would also not be surprised. Also, ten years from now, Mr. Kinzel will have retired, and who knows who may own the Cedar Fair parks. It may or may not be Cedar Fair Entertainment Company. And they may or may not be under common ownership. Quote
Browntggrr Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 ^ I would have to say SoB has had way more issues than TTD. TTD did have many issues it's first year, but has ran decent since. Currently, SoB is 11 months SBNO. TTD has never had that much downtime. Also, I would find it hard to believe that TTD would not be here in 10 years. Yes Mr. Kinzel did say that TTD was his worst decision (and I applaud him for his honesty) but he also has kept other rides that were admitted poor decisions as well (see DT). And really, what good would removing TTD do? They would have to bring in the same set of cranes that built it, the footprint is not THAT big (it is very thin), and I can still see people still enjoying it 10 years from now. Never say never, but I would be very surprised. Quote
