Avatar
The DIS Board is the largest discussion forum for most things relating to Disney. I came across this thread on that Board discussing the food prices of KI compared to Food prices at Disney after a few other members thought Disney’s food prices was too high. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1489276 I just thought it was a good way to see how guests feel about KI and Cedar Fairs prices, from an unbiased perspective. Captain Nemo
He should take a trip to Holiday World. I for one LOVE Panda Express food, I find it very delicious, just don't eat that kind of food before a coaster... bad news.
Delirium_Guy
He should take a trip to Holiday World. I for one LOVE Panda Express food, I find it very delicious, just don't eat that kind of food before a coaster... bad news. I don't think the issue was the taste of the food. My food was alright. However, $13 for a soda, two spring rolls and some fried rice......PATHETIC. Those discussions are very valid. Honestly, the food pricing at Disney is very reasonable. I'm always surprised every time I go down. It was fairly common for me to eat for less than $10 in the Parks....including the drink. I have YET to be able to get what I want at KI for anything less than $12. - Todd
tubaman
I think that one reason Disney food may cost less, is because they have more. By more, I mean other places where they make a lot of money, so food prices don't have to be that high. They also have many dining options, and a lot of other things. But, that is just my theory. Browntggrr
Well speaking of prices... The US Open was in my neck of the woods this past weekend (Oakmont, PA). I did not have the privilege of attending, but some of the guys I work did go. Now this was told to me, I did not actually see this information myself, so take it for what it is worth. Ticket for Friday- $100 Small bottle of water- $5 Hot Dog- (sit down for this!) $20 Now since I did not go to the US Open, I did go to the Cleveland Zoo Saturday morning/ early afternoon & then to the Cleveland Indians game later in the afternoon. My wife made sandwiches & we brought bottled water & Cracker Jacks. We could bring 4 bottles into the stadium with us. Erie Zoo season pass, good for most zoos nationwide, including free admission to Cleveland Metroparks Zoo & Rainforest- $65 4 Indians tickets- $80 35 pack of bottled water- $3.49 4 snow cones at baseball game- $4.00 Nachos- $4.00 3 bags of Cracker Jacks- $4.50 (at the stadium they are $3.50 each) I truly do enjoy family events. And I don't have to take out a Home Equity Loan to do it!
italianchef
In my opinion the food prices at Kings Island are fair and the beverage prices are outrageous.
PKIVortex
Who in there right mind would pay 20 dollars for a hot dog. No thanks!
Avatar
Justified or not, because of Cedar Fairs debt load or because other venues are charging similar prices, I think it is note worthy to see what the public perception is and has become about the prices at Cedar Fair Kings Island. In the thread link above the posters are using KI as an example of the highest prices at amusement/theme parks in the country. I just wonder what the average park guests goes away thinking about the prices; feels good about it or views it as a negative and how does that opinion effect their decision on coming back in the future. Note; more negative comments from guest have been posted on that thread since I put the link up a few days ago. Also I have not left a post in that thread, it’s just good to see that folks are getting fed up with the high prices that everyone is charging so much so that they are starting to speak-out about it. I hope it continues.
