welchce Posted June 24, 2007 Share Posted June 24, 2007 This is the first time this year when I have gone two days in a row and both were pretty awesome. My brother and I were going to meet his 2 friends at KI and we didn't get there till 2 but they still had Speed Lane vouchers. I was very surprised by this. They did only have Delirium tickets and no Face/Offs but that's because I'm pretty sure Delirium was closed early in the day so everyone just got Face/Off. Also I was surprised that all you had to do was show your pass to the person (they didn't scan it) and they'd give you the tickets. It's a good thing they don't because my brother's friends got there a little earlier than us and their comeback times were different from our so they just went back to the window and got an additional set. They ended up giving their earlier passes to a teen aged couple who gazed at them throughly confused. First we rode AE to get us going, then Racer backwards then forwards. While in line for forward there were these three people passing a cigarette around to each other (a great example they were setting for the two kids with them). After reading the new ACE sign, we walked down to ride Spongebob and then went to Vortex. Once we got off Vortex we still had some time before our first time can for IJ:ST. So we went to watch people humiliate themselves at the 3-point challenge. I don't understand why you would spend $10 to show everyone around for 40 seconds that you have no form and air ball at least 50% of your shots. Once 4:30 rolled around we walked on IJ:ST. At 4:45 The Beast beckoned us to cut in front of more people. We gave our 5:00 time cards for Wild Thornberry's away to a couple with 2 kids because we didn't want to get wet by that stupid elephant (they greatly appreciated the gesture). At 5:15 we had a battle for points at Scooby-Doo and then at 5:30 we rode Delirium. For about every ride there was a 45 minute wait and we waited an average of 3-4 minutes. There were still speed lane tickets left for only Delirium at 5:45 but we decided to not get them. To spite the high food prices, we then went to Frisch's by the Beach and had a great dinner. And for everone who was/is wondering, we used the same parking pass twice in the same day and the attendant didn't say anything the second time around. However, I left at this time to go to my friends house and my brother and his friends went back in for more fun. So yes, Delirium was closed yesterday and I think earlier today yet opened today till close I believe and TRTR was opened today even though it was not yesterday when I walked by. Even though the park was relatively packed it was good that we had the speed passes or else we would've barely rode anything. For example, FoF always has a decent line but there's no real room for the extra line in the building. But yesterday (6/22) I remember saying to my girlfriend as we walked through The Beast's empty queue to the half filled station that a ride kind of loses its mystique when you can't remember the last time that all the entire queue was remotely full and you normally just walk on it. However, today every piece of Beast's queue was being used (except the station since one side was being used by the speed lane), yet I still walked on with the speed pass Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They start at $31 for one person at Six Flags Over Texas, for instance. And gold ones cost even more (and you don't wait hardly at all with those; with a regular speedpass, your wait is theoretically as long as the people in line, but you can go do something else while they wait--ride something else, shop, eat, etc.) Before someone says how Cedar Fair doesn't do this, look at the VIP Experience at Cedar Point...where you get a guide, first in line access to rides, restaurants and shows, exclusive parking and to pay for it. By the way, it just went up. It's $350 per person, minimum of four people (you do NOT have to have four people, but you DO have to pay at least $1400!!! And two or three day pricing is available.) It is difficult to attribute the cost of a VIP program to offset their debt. Also, CP scrapped "FreeWay" toward the end of last season due to poor guest feelings. Unless, of course you are talking about single day admission to CP which dropped from $45 in 2005 to $40 in 2006 and was raised to $42 for 2007. Browntggrr Posted June 28, 2007 Share Posted June 28, 2007 Raising the VIP experiance was necessary due to everyone wanting to do it. There are numerous VIP events that Disney has, that for the common guest is not known, nor could they afford it. The more expensive it costs, the less likely your average guest will be willing to do it. I would be willing to bet since the cost has been raised to $350/ person, there has been less people taking advantage of the VIP experiance, thus less revenue generated.
