  1. It might just seem like a long line because the path to The Bat is a very long path.
  2. Yeah, you're right. Especially since Carowinds took out Thunder Road, I sometimes worry about rides like The Racer and Rebel Yell going, but I don't think they're as likely to go because they're both ACE Landmarks. But you never know. And I agree that maybe restoring The Racer back to the way it originally was back in 1972 wouldn't be a bad idea.
  3. It could. Looking through the KIC forums and the history of the area it seems as if the Coney Mall area had a bit of an overhaul in 1986 when they got rid of the old bumper cars (or relocated the bumper cars, sources haven't been clear on that) and replaced (or relocated) them with new bumper cars. They also added Zephyr, which is a Zier Wave Swinger. They also changed the name of the area from Coney Island (or Old Coney) to Coney Mall (This was probably because the Coney Island that we know of today opened in 1974 on the old land and I guess KI couldn't call it Coney Island anymore for some reason). Since then I don't think Coney Mall has gotten any flat rides (other than WindSeeker).
  4. Do you think it's possible that Cedar Fair may re theme Action Zone. I think Action Zone has become a husk of what it used to be, when it was first introduced in the 90's. They got rid of the water tower, Banshee (while a fantastic ride) doesn't fit the theme of Action Zone, they re themed Flight Deck into The Bat so now that doesn't fit the theming, and they repainted Invertigo from yellow and red to light blue and dark blue.
  5. I got lucky during my 5th or 6th grade year (between 2008 and 2010). I had a sick day and on that day I was sick they showed this film on Boomerang. I specifically remember freaking out when I realized the amusement park in the film was Kings Island. Pretty much the only part of the film I remembered was the beginning at KI. Especially the part where they march with the marching band.

    KI45

Since Kings Island is turning 45 I would like to start a discussion page where we can look back on the last 45 years of Kings Island. Starting with this mini-documentary about KI's construction. One of my favorite memories of KI, is riding Banshee for the first time in 2015 with my Aunt. We rode in the front row. I remember thinking the ride was awesome. I really loved the intensity of the ride, and still do to this day. Anyway, in my opinion there are three historical era's of Kings Island, these are: Classic Era: 1972-1992 Paramount Era: 1993-2006 Cedar Fair Era: 2007-present
  7. I regret being a chicken when it came to riding roller coasters when I was younger. And I regret not riding the Backlot Stunt Coaster when it was still Italian Job and had more effects.
  8. an alternate where universe Arrow actually made really smooth loopers
  9. Rode it the first time two months ago I thought it was a fun ride. It was intense especially the launch, I also like that last inversion at the end, some people may not like the MCBR but I don't mind MCBR's.
  10. Actually it's a Disk'O according to this page so Wikipedia is wrong on one of these pages https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk%27O
  11. Well it's been nice decoding with all the heated debate of is it a Giga vs Woodie to GCI vs RMC this forum kept going on with minimal interruption by trolls Good job decoding and speculating everyone see you in a few years when KI gets it's next roller coaster
  12. Actually Mondial has made their own version of the Top Spin which they call a Splash Over Top Spin because they spray you with water during the ride however in this pov they don't get wet.
  13. I'm hoping they bring back the Antique Cars to me all amusement parks need an Antique Car ride of some kind If they put a 4D Dark Ride in Action Zone the EA IP's they haven't used yet are Need for Speed, Battlefield, Dead Space, Crysis, Dragon Age and Medal of Honor
  14. I think GCI though a part of me wants it to be RMC probably around 90-110 ft high goes around 60-70 mph between 3,000 and 4,000 ft long gives Kings Island most wooden coaster track in one park
  15. Beast Gal, GavPenn I have nothing against you guys but I'd like to give some constructive criticism to you guys Beast Gal: You just blurt out things like "RMC or Intamin" without any logic, reason, or evidence GavPenn: While your logic and reasoning skills are quite good, you act like you know everything which is why people don't listen to you, there's a fine line between saying "I KNOW it's an RMC" and "I THINK it's an RMC" a lot of us THINK it's a GCI based on evidence from that Coaster Net video but we don't KNOW it's a GCI as it could possibly be a GG, RMC, or Intamin for all we know. But the thing is when you say you KNOW it's an RMC without linking to a credible source why you know, you just lose credibility. The truth is someone is going to be right, It might be you, it might be someone on team GCI, or both might be wrong as we get a B&M or Intamin Giga (which doesn't seem likely now) but we won't KNOW what it really is until tomorrow.
  16. I think Don's Splinter Cat tweet may be a diversion because the picture he used is a drawing from Deviant Art but you never know http://www.deviantart.com/art/Splinter-Cat-308448210
  17. Ah yes Hannah Barbara Land good memories from my early childhood. Never rode the Scooby Ghoster Coaster but based on that video it looked painful I have only vague memories of it from when I was a kid.
  18. Intamin's are just as cookie cutter Top Thrill Dragster, Kingda Ka, Stealth, and Xcelerator all look the same Most impulses are just clones of each other Colossus at Heide Park and El Toro are similar http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8381 Intamin has made at least three other 10 inversion roller coasters since Colossus at Thorpe Park http://rcdb.com/rhr.htm?m=4 Most Mega Coasters and Mega Lites look similar to each other much like B&M's Hyper Coasters look similar to each other http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8374 http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8556 I mean really most roller coaster manufactures make rather cookie cutter rides as GCI's all look similar so do Arrow Custom Loopers and Arrow Mine trains all look similar and give similar rides Intamin is no different.
  19. Now if I had control over what type of music would play in each area I would do the following. International Street: Classical Music Action Zone: Pop and Rock music made between the 80's and today (Anything from Nirvana to Katy Perry) Oktoberfest: Classical German music Coney Mall: Pop and Rock made between the 50's and 70's (Beatles, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, The Who, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc.) Rivertown: Folk and Country (Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, etc.) Soak City: Tropical Music (Beach Boys) Edit: X-Base: Psychedelic and Electronic Music (something like this ) Planet Snoopy: Kids songs
  20. Last I hear all they had done was remove the metal strips on the wood track
  21. I figured it out they're making a roller coaster based on Grantchester Meadows I'm just kidding Tien who can never be taken seriously despite being a rather serious character in Dragon Ball
  22. Sorry a bit late for this but Jeremy Clarkson would like to disagree with you. https://youtu.be/qqQzU-q8S2o?t=3m50s
  23. So far all wooden coasters (i.e. Goliath, Lightning Rod, etc.) are built from the ground up while Hybrids (i.e. Twisted Colossus, Storm Chaser) used the structures of old wooden roller coasters that they removed the wood from and replaced with steel I-Box Track
  24. Interesting... Does anyone here happen to have photographs of this stuffed Lion on The Beast and Scarecrow near Project 2017
  25. One thing that always bothers me about my Uncle is that he calls the Backlot Stunt Coaster the "Backyard Stunt Coaster" event though there's a big billboard that says Backlot Stunt Coaster in the Que
