  1. giga, this might be a stupid question....LOL Will you be at KI opening day? My friend Jan and I are going. We hope to see you there.

    Diamondback

Hey Zack! Jan likes row 1, and 2. I like rows 1, 2, 10, and 16. We both can not wait! The Diamondback DUO rides again!
  3. That is what I was going to suggest. It is already going up the lift hill fast. Thus it has less speed to make up for, thus it will go faster. If the lift is slowed down, it will take longer for it to make up the speed.
  4. They should warn people, about it like they do with Dragster roll backs. If they don't want the rick of a black / gray out they shouldn't go. Like they used to say at Busch Gardens Tampa "CRY BABIES DON'T RIDE" I have lost vision on Kumba, Montu, Dueling Dragons Fire, and Hulk. But usually after i have ridden over and over again. From my experience, everything goes black. I know what is going on around me. I can even talk. I just can't see anything. That said, I am ready for I305. Even if it means I black out. Your body would get used to it eventually. BRING IT ON!
  5. You might be a coaster/park addict if you go to a park during a rain forecast in hopes to get a lot of rides due to small attendance numbers.
  6. The people in the theme, paint, and naming departments all need to be fired.
  7. I have mine listed at Coastercounter.com. http://coastercounter.com/#Sheikra_rocks Coasters I have lost count of have a 1 for amount of rides: For example, I know for a fact that I have at least ridden the following this much. Kumba over 500 times Montu over 400 times Sheikra over 50 times Beast over 100 times Vortex over 20 times FOF over 30 times Should I just update my page to what I think I have done? Like I said, I know for a fact that I have ridden Kumba over 500 times since it has opened. Should I just mark it 500 and keep going from there?
  8. I'd like to see the paint touched up on those trains as well.
  9. If you feel the urge to check all passenger restraints in your vehicle..... and act on it, saying "check, check, check." <---------------- if you have a vehicle that you named "The Diamondback Mobile". <---------------- if you have actually gotten quotes to install fangs on the DBM.
  10. The day they transfer track of Diamondback was installed, I was over by the 80's theater taking videos and pics of them lowering the section into place. I happened to look down into the theater and see a guy with a girl sitting on his lap in the front row. They were kissing.... at first. It got a little more to the R rating and I had to call GR to have them call security. I'm sorry, Kings Island is a park for families, not a park for making families. I don't wanna see kissing and groping in line either. Line jumpers should be placed in front of a firing squad. I am sorry, but if you are one of the people who are "catching up to your family" it is LINE JUMPING!
  11. If at anytime you are a passenger in a car, you hold your thumb up and say "All clear."
  12. I won't run, but I will go straight to my Diamondback. I want to go on opening day, but not sure if I will be able to. I too also hope my nephew is OFFICIALLY 48 inches this season. He was so mad when they wouldn't give him one last year. He's six. "Let's just go home." he said....LOL
  13. You mean, there's more at Kings Island than Diamondback?
  14. There should have been a "None" option for the question, "And finally, what kind of rides make you the most sick?" I don't get sick on rides, I get a sensation that can not be described.
  15. 95% of my time at Ki this year was spent riding Diamondback. I didn't make it to closing day, was getting over a mild case of the flu. I wish I could have been there. I know the Sunday prior to closing day I was there. My friend rode 55 times, and I rode 45 times. A lot of which we didn't have to leave the station. Then there was a point where I would see an empty seat, give it to my friend, walk around, and be in line as her train stopped. She would just change seats and sit with me. We timed it so we would get our 300 and 400 rides together. In total, she has 307 rides and I have 407. It was a great season. We had a blast!
  16. It flew by this year! I rode Diamondback MORE than I anticipated. I can't believe there is a ride that I can just ride all day without needing to ride anything else. Thank you to the Diamondback staff for making the coaster so fun. I really can't comment on much on anything else, I didn't do much other than ride Diamondback. We had some very memorable rides though. Mid summer being in the front row and dispatching just as fireworks are blasting off. During the climb up the lift, as we rise above the tree line to see a full moon behind the fireworks. Another memorable ride was after a rain storm and the fog rising off in the distance. Or last week during my 401st ride on Diamondback, we get stuck on the MCBR for about 5 to 10 minutes. Was hilarious! Had lots of fun this year riding the coaster.
  17. Urgent Scare was a big let down for me... I am thinking something along the lines of "Dawn Of The Dead" kind of attraction, which is what US was supposed to be. The outside was more fun than inside. Inside seemed way to cramped, and I felt that the actors felt that too. Don't get me started on that LOUD & ANNOYING siren! Sorry, but i felt it was a fail. If i were able to do the Urgent Scare theming, i would not take away from the story. But build... the scareactors can do anything (themepark appropriate) that they want to scare you, but touch you. I would expand the theming out into the midway to the corner near Juke Box Diner. have "zombies" all over the place, NOT talking in full sentences. (The quiet scareactors get far better scares in my opinion.) I would use extended queue for more control. All the open attractions names would change to fit the theme. Similar to what Busch Gardens Tampa has done in the past with Kumba (Doomba), Montu(Montomb), etc. Change the white strobes in FOF launch to red, run it with the lights on with splotches of "blood" on the head choppers and several other supports, maybe hang a dummy on the MCBR holding a sign that says "Lights Out!", lights go off for the rest of the ride. This way your eyes wont have time to adjust to the darkness and will disorient you more.
  18. Wooo hoooo! I just posted about it on facebook! "The day has finally come. The one night of the year i actually pay to get into Kings Island. Otherwise I just use my Platinum pass. Kings Island Pride Night is without a doubt the best time to attend the park. Literally no lines, great all around friendly atmosphere, and great rides! I just have to control the urge to ride only Diamondback, and ride things I have neglected this year. Peace, Love!" I am so excited!
  19. Cry babies!....LOL kat, you have a GOOD reason... you are excused. I rode Diamondback 42 times last friday and felt fine.
  20. The helix is by far the best part of the ride. I have nicknamed it "Jesse's Circle". In other news, the hammerhead on Diamondback is called "Jan's Bend", Drop number 2 on Diamondback is called "Jesse's Plunge"
  21. I will be wearing a CoasterDynamix Phoenix shirt. Going straight to Diamondback, then to ride everything else... Then the last hour and a half will be strickly Diamondback. Would love to meet some of you clowns .... you know where to find me! <------- See the Diamondback Mobile?
  22. Intamin vs B&M is like compairing apples and oranges. Ever hear the saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover."? While I am sure both I305 and I-Carowinds will both be great rides, I would rather ride the B&M.
  23. They did put new wheels on the trains. I love the B&M roar. However, I would love it if it roared like Kumba. If any of you have been on Kumba, you would know. It is louder than Mantis at CP. I like hearing the safety guidelines in queue. I like the sound of the motor and gears at the bottom of the lift hill, the thumping sound between the station and the lift. The chain dogs clanking into the chain as each car turns upward. The sound when the train glides through the magnetic brakes. The sound on the MCBR when the brakes grab the train, even though it slows us down. Not from Diamondback, but when the 80's show is going on as we round the turn toward the station. "Greeter, open single rider line." "How many? Row 2. How many? Row 3. How many? Row 4....." i've ridden it a few times(260), but it is our only b&m. What more do you need really?
  24. I've been wanting to go to see Rocky Horror... I've performed "Sweet Transvestite" in drag before, and I have it on vhs somewhere. I need to upload it to youtube.
