  1. You know you know a lot about a roller coaster when they tell you that you are not allowed to answer anymore questions. I love the Diamondback crew.... it is the only coaster we ride and it is really awesome that we have gotten to know them.
  2. i noticed that Diamondback is a male. I will not explain it here, but if anyone runs into me at the park ask me what I am talking about.
  3. 260 for me 160 for my coaster buddy Jan... We ride with Gary all the time! We rode with giga in car 8 a few days ago, she was in row 16 and Jan and I were in 15
  4. I think this person would argue with you... I seen the 80's show saturday (Blue Jackets day) and he/she was dancing up a storm. Thier heart will be crushed if the show was removed.
  5. And this is relevant in this thread because.....?
  6. top of page 37 Kris said that if it had the steel track it would be way too fast..... last time I checked, Diamondback and SOB had only a 1 ft drop difference. The speed would be about as equal as DB. I really think this would make the ride better. I would actually enjoy riding it if it were steel.
  7. TILT-A-WIRL!!!! I love CP's T-A-W. HAVE to ride when I go. I like to get the cars spinning wildly... it amuses onlookers, not to mention myself.. If they change the name because of "Coney" then they will have to change Kings Island to something different. Kings Island got the "Island" part from Coney Island
  8. ^^No crap.... I was stating that usually in the 30 minutes of ERT, one could get up to 6 rides. In all, by 1030 (1 hour) I managed 2. I still squeezed 10 rides in all day, which is good for being awake over 24 hours.... Sunday was technically Saturday for me still.
  9. When people seen Diamondbacks water brake, they assumed it was going to be a Dive Machine even though it wasn't wide enough for dive machine track
  10. Compairing apples and oranges here... Diamondback is Maggie and Force's love child. Diamondback gives a more exciting ride that MF. Magnum is my favorite ride at The Point. 4 times yesterday twice without trims. I have ridden MF less than 10 times, yet I have no idea how many times i've ridden it. I have ridden Diamondback 260. I rather have a 230ft B&M than a 300+ ft speed machine. EDIT: If you don't like Diamondback, get out of line and let us who love it ride it...... even though it eats our friends. Don't be happy we have our first B&M, and it is an amazing ride. If some of you on here don't like what Diamondback offers, then why are your Diamondback ride counts as high as they are? Just sayin.......
  11. Whatever.... i went for GOLD AND PLATINUM ERT but ended up waiting in a 10 minute line, because of all the runners. Usually, i can get up to 4 to 6 rides in 30 minutes, this time I got 2... in 1 hour. There is no point in having ERT for Gold and Platinum if they are going to hold such a cluster fudged event as I heard this race was. Meanwhile.... Diamondback ate my friend.... she fell between the cars trying to get across to help someone having a seizure. She saved his life, then KI EMT's shoed her away. She had the guy calm and responsive, then they came over and the guy started to get violent. KI owes her for saving their customers life.
  12. Kelly was probably doing what she was told to do when she was trained.... make sure the restraints are locked. I remember in he begining they ALL stapled the lap bars... Here is what you do... make sure you get to the seat before the ride op.... pull the bar down until you see the black line. put your thighs under the bar.... they can not staple you. I personally love it when Kelly is working a close, she rides with us on the last train of the night. My friend Jan and I started talking to Kelly when I noticed something wrong with the coaster and pointed it out to her.
  13. The guest drop has parking places...
  14. I am so there that I will be camping out in the parking lot the day before..... Only thing I see wrong with this is, I only want to ride Diamondback. But this is my night to catch up on rides that I have neglected due to DB. My partner and his best friend will be joining me.. Been looking foreward to this all year! The only night I pay to attend.
  15. Kumba, Montu, SheiKra, Kraken, Dueling Dragons, Hulk, Goliath(sfog), Batman The Ride, Raptor, Mantis, Diamondback, Dominator, Apollo's Chariot, Alpie, and Griffon are all in my top 15 favorite steel coasters. ALL B&M!
  16. I know WWC's water isn't treated very good. The former "It's Fried " stand is almost directly across from The Racer i believe. I think it is pretty close to Skyline.
  17. FOF is a big cluster fudge when you get into the loading area... people must be dumbfounded when they get there, or just in shock at what they are about to do. I am glad they seat people at Diamondback... what you can do is say, "Can we sit in an odd numberd row anywhere but the front?"
  18. I haven't been to KI since late May. What's wrong with the splashdown? Is the water getting nasty? Yes the water is growing algea. I am wondering if this is meant to be that way? I dunno but if its not by design, its quite nasty. Its half green and half not. I would think that if they treated it with chlorine or bromine it would decay the tracks and cars. Just a thought. SheiKra's water is treated and it hasn't effected the track or trains, at least not from what I can see. The track looks like it did the day they installed it.
  19. In my opinion, wear a shirt PERIOD at the park. I don't get offended by men or women not wearing shirts, it is mainly the women and girls who wear the bikini tops that seem to be a size too small. I am lactose intolerant, put them away! For girls and women, wear a shirt on the ride "Shirt and shoes required to ride." I don't want to see your juggs bouncing every which way. Guys, pull your pants up where they belong, there is probably a gay guy checking you out... GUILTY....LOL Personally if my partner and I had the ability to have children, i've told him I would string our daughter up by her ears and not let her leave if she wore anything like the girls wear at the parks.... 90% of them.... are with their parents. The point is clear, and it states in the map that proper attire must be worn. I understand that some what at least a dry shirt after they ride a water ride i.e. WWC of Congo Falls, me personally want my shirt wet to keep me cool longer.
  20. KI buffet: 16.99 CP Buffet: 13.99 regular AND you get a 10% discount with a platinum which isn't bad and the food is better (Midway Market). KI sport quart refills: 1.99 CP sport quart refills: .99 KI discounts on merch. for Gold and Plat: 0 Cp discounts on merch. for Gold and Plat: 10 to 20% ( I forget which one) Something I found good value at KI was the French Bread Pizza at the former "It's Fried" stand across from Racer. forget the price, but it is awesome pizza.. better than that larosa's crap. Hmm... What I don't like: All the tween girls that their parents let out in those shorts that reveal everything, I would kill my daughter (if i had one) if she went out like that. The people who stop right in the middle of the walk way, or stop blocking the entrance to a ride to see if one person can fit.. come on, i am sure it is already embarrassing enough that they even have to try out the seat in the first place, but 10 people watching doesn't make it better. Ride ops at Diamondback slamming the harness down on you ( I KNOW SOME OF YOU ARE ON HERE, AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! CUT IT OUT... IT ISN'T NEEDED).. they can be easy about it. The girls at Diamondback who get ****y when you request a certain seat. Ride ops not doing anything about line jumpers when you bring it to their attention. "Did anyone else see them? We can't do anything about it unless someone else seen them." as 6 line jumpers board the train in Diamondback station, they didn't make them get out, then the guy called the control pannel but it was too late. the got rewarded for breaking the rules. People at Diamondback giving out false info about the ride, one op on the mic on the unload side said it went 120 mph, then changed it to 150. People making out in line make me want to vomit. There is a time and place for it, and it isn't at Kings Island in front of me. People who ruin other peoples ORP (on ride photo) by flicking off the camera, lifting thier shirts or what ever. The music loop they play in Rivertown... the country music they played last year made it feel more "Rivertown-ish" Pay rides... However I will ride Sling Shot when it is 5 bucks... Sky Flier was 5 bucks on monday but i couldn't get up the courage... maybe next time... the waste of space that are: Tower Gardens, trampolines, Thunder Alley, side B on Action Theater which is Urgent Scare, which wasn't as good as I was hoping. Trims on Beast are my biggest pet peve. The one on Diamondback can be a good thing if you are in the front, however, it doesn't catch as much as the MCBR does. The one on FOF is good if you are in the front because the front car kind of hangs until the train picks up speed. Feels like you are falling out. You guys want more? I can keep goin.....
  21. I bought 4 Beast trains, gave one to my nephew, kept one in the box, and turned 2 of them into a 6 car train. Will probably do the same with Diamondback, only making an 8 car train, buy metal wheels from coaster dynamix and run the train on the Phoenix when it comes out. I've spent more already at the park this season than I did the entire last season. I think the best deal so far is the drink wrist band. As for the ad..... Diamondbacks is better, it shows more off ride footage. Not to mention the snake at the end, was a nice touch.
  22. I was thinking of getting a tat of a Diamondback train cresting a hill. I have two tatts right now.. a mermaid on the outside of my left calf, and The Little Mermaid on my left Shoulder blade, sitting on a rock in front of the moon. I did put a Diamondback plate on the front of the Land Rover. In a couple weeks I will be putting fangs on the front on either side of the plate.
  23. A guy at The Beast stated that in the 3 underground tunnels were killer chickens that were hungry. The guy at Diamondback who says not to throw the shoes at him also has called Diamondback Kingda Ka. Said that DB went 150 mph. I am really put off by stuff like that... at least give the correct speed and height of the ride, even if you play with names. Even then, they should only use names in the same park... BTW our Flight Deck is a Vortex at a different park. http://rcdb.com/ig65.htm?picture=9 When I worked at RHino Rally at Busch Gardens Tampa I had a joke that included the sky ride into African theme of the ride... "Look up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's the African Flying Tourist. You can tell them apart from other toursits because of their bucket shaped bodies, and multiple heads. We number them to track their migration." Or come around a corner and yell "D U C K ! ! !, right there, that's an african killer duck. DO not make eye contact, they will fly uphead and quack your head open." "These elephants like to use us as target practice." I would say this if an elephant was standing at the edge of the cliff waiting to throw dirt at the Land Rovers as they go by. And yes... the elephants amuse themselves by throwing dirt at the Land Rovers....lol On the river portion right after the bridge breaks off, "RESCUE ONE, RESCUE ONE, COME IN RESCUE ONE, DO YOU READ? DO YOU READ?.... THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ!!!!" At one point the ride started to move a little faster.. "Oh no, we're moving faster! What's at the end of fast moving water? " Usually i got no response so i would say, "I'll give you a hint, it starts with 'water' and ends in 'fall'!"
  24. Very vaguely do I remember waiting in the extra queue under the station in 1996.... I remember waiting out past the two jets, I thought they were awesome. Also... to see the red... look anywhere where the wheels touch the track, you can see the red paint. However, the red paint is worn too. You can see the actual steel itself if you look hard enough. I would not like to see this ride be taken out... If you sit in the front you get some pretty big swings. Especially on the turn into the break run! NOt only that, I think it is by far the most reliable steel coaster in the park to be honest with you. I say make it floorless.
  25. Montu's scheme would look nice, but I think more "Earthly" colors on the supports to make it blend in better, and a blue-ish color track to blend with the sky.
