  1. When my son and I rode this back in May, we were actually observing the opposite in our opinion; that Delirium wasn't swinging to it's maximum potential and the ride seemed to not cycle equaly on both sides meaning I never once was face down at the highest point. I was always rotating facing up on the upswing and was quite bummed about this. I also didn't get the breathtaking feeling I once used to have on this with good airtime. It was quite boring and I LOVE this ride.
  2. Now...If Cedar Fair can only follow suit. "Coca-Cola...It's in my Veins!" Speaking from having a Father who has devoted 35yrs of his life to being a Coke "dealer" in Ohio.
  3. The Park is Perfect with what we have! Enjoy It!
  4. Grrrrrr! I wish I had known that. I actually went to three places to purchase bands on Sunday before getting the runaround. We always go to Skyline first when we enter because we head to FoF. This time, we went Right because we wanted to ride The Beast first...and stopped at: Cinnibon because there was no line, then LaRosa's on International Street and then Skyline. All telling me to buy them at the FunPerks Stand.
  5. Listen Everyone....Why be so harsh on Kings Island for having a contest on Twitter? If this thread hadn't been created, you'd still would have gone on about your day and not known anything about it. Kings Island had a contest in April that gave away 40 prizes on Twitter. #kingsisland40 I never saw anybody be upset about that. We're in a Drawing to win a Case of Crave Milk...enough to fill the front seat of The Beast, Four Free Tickets to KI and Food Vouchers. I'd love to Win this to bring my elderly parents to watch the shows. They can't ride anymore. They said they would love to swim if I won. LOL. I was lucky to Win on Monday. So, the more you delay, the less chance you'll have in Winning!!! I'm mellowshroombri. I picked the name when I worked in Gatlinburg last year @ The Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers. I NEVER win anything and Twitter has been good to me. Twitter Kings Island Crave Contest Winners by KingsIsland1972, on Flickr
  6. FYI....Our recent visit on Sunday proved that Kings Island has caught on and are 'Not Allowing The Purchase Of $5.00 Unlimited 20oz Softdrink Wrist Bands..Anywhere". It is NOW only a FUNPERK option that MUST be redeemed at the FUNPERK stand either by printing them out at home, or they will print them out for you on the spot. Here's the real humdinger. I didn't print my funperks coupon because I thought it to be a real value to always purchased the band at a soda stand. Never had a problem. This was at every stand, every weekend. I have a Rainbow of bracelets for drinks in my drawer. What is funny is that this past Sunday, I stopped at Skyline on International Street (like always) and was told to go to purchase them at Funperks stand by the Theatre. I did so where I was informed that they NEVER EVER SOLD THEM IN THE PARK. NEVER!!! Then after advising that his information was wrong, I was then directed out of line to Customer Service who then proceeded to tell me that maybe I was confused from last year and that to his knowledge nobody in the park sold 20oz wristbands. I was furious. I did it. You guys have done it. I spent thirty minutes in the park before doing thing else arguing about that I'm not crazy. So, I was re-directed to the Funperks where I had to use a perk to get the wrist band. Somebody needs to get their story straight...because as I went throughout the park getting my drinks, I asked each employee if they remember selling the bands this year and they said yes...Both the refill cups and the 20oz. So I guess the funtimes are over! I'd pay $10 to get an unlimited drink band for the day. Seriously!!!
  7. It's not greedy. It's your choice to buy it. If it's too expensive you don't have to buy it. Being greedy would be making you pay $12 for a locker! So true. But who will be the voice on this board that says "You don't NEED to buy a locker." When you ride Firehawk....YOU ARE FORCED TO PURCHASE A LOCKER. Not...Oh, we'll stash it over here for you and you can pick it up when you come back to the station...but then again, I was told by the two ride ops at the Firehawn enterance that they are working on boxes for the station. REALLY? It's taken five years for you to figure this out??? I was PI$$ED when I was denied access. I rode everything else in the park without a problem so far this year. I went from a (don't laugh) a Fanny Pack to a the KI light weight back pack a few weeks ago. I was told that the force that it imposes on you is great in both directions, therefore they feel it's safer NOT to allow you to carry on a bag. I have a picture of the first time I rode this ride in '07 I believe and I was the one stuck holding sunglasses in my hands, cell phones in my pocket and a wallet. Now, i just carry in my gold pass on a laynard with my car key which is attached, my cell phone, my credit card, drivers license and cash sandwiched between them with a girls pony tail holder plus a clean t shirt and that's too much to bring on? I hate having items in my pocket when I ride anymore. I don't want the hassel of adjusting on a ride so my cell doesn't crack in my pocket. I'm not paying their prices to put crap in a locker. It's like a monopoly...you've already paid the price to get in...now you have to pay more to ride a ride? NO WAY JOSE'! What's next? Are you gonna have to pay to redeem your FUN Perks? Not ranting...but sorta!
  8. Remember...You MUST have your Badge on at ALL TIMES to get in line. That Is All!
  9. How do you all get so Lucky? I'd pay to have an experience like that! Even if it was on Woodstock Express! (Sigh)
  10. You're Terrible! Sad, but True! Usually, I ride like this guy for the (blackout) effect!
  11. My photo of FOF today. I truly have grown to love this ride. Would LOVE, LOVE & LOVE the option if they would send riders into a complete blackout. Might be a Kings Island dream of mine, but hey....A guy can Dream On, Right? FOF 2012 by KingsIsland1972, on Flickr
  12. I'm sorry ....but, No No No No No No No No No No No No No NO NO NO!!! You keep your thoughts for expansion out from: In/Around/Near/Above/Below/On/Out/Close/Beside or with a 33 and a 1/2ft pole of The Beast. Those grounds are Sacred! LOL!
  13. I love Diamondback! Let me just put it out there. I've rode it at least 20 Times since opening day. BUT...I had my FIRST RIDE in the back a week ago tomorrow. Let me say it was the most exhilarating ride on a coaster I've ever been on. So good, that I rode it back to back with my teenage son and that's what we talked about all day until we got home. So, I've been back since then and rode it yesterday during ERT twice (in the back) and I think I've found my new love. It feels like you're going at least 10x's faster than everyone else on the train and the air time....OH, the Air Time is AMAZING! I love the splashdown in the back. I come out with a soaked armpit everytime.
  14. (1) The Van Dells (2) MUSE (3) Big Bad Voodoo Daddy/Brian Setzer Orchestra (coin flip)
  15. I think I'd like to see an Option that you could, prior to your entrance on WindSeeker, have a jukebox that you pay $5 to play a priority song of your choice during flight with all proceeds going to Charity that helps families make wishes come true and so they can come to Kings Island.
  16. 'Wat you talkn 'bout Willis?' The value of the tokens are spot on as the value of the prizes have NEVER gone up. Why try for this when you can go for the "Real Thing" at your local Animal Shelter. And might I Add, there is a little more skill involved in winning one of these Kitties...They're quick! "I'm Bob Barker and I approve this message!" (not!) (Adding my two tokens(cents) of sarcasm here)
  17. I was only hoping that I would have the "sasquatch" picture of someone walking on the SOB. But, I did get a little excited that I had these pictures to share. I'll live with my 15 seconds of fame.
  18. Was at the Park today and while in Line for Drop Tower around 10am, I took these photos of two workers climbing and walking at the top of Delirium. Maybe it will be up and running soon! Delirium by KingsIsland1972, on Flickr Delirium by KingsIsland1972, on Flickr
  19. I think we should start taking pictures of these "antics" like The People of Wal-Mart www.peopleofwalmart.com publish. I always get a chuckle off this website and I think I'd get even more of a Hardy Har Har if we had something to share with everyone. It certainly would make taking pictures at KI more interesting. <Hmmm, going this weekend> thought bubble!
  20. I wondered about that to...(KingsIsland1972, who often gets a random thought too from time to time I made a Terpism...) but if you look at Terpy who has 12 circles and has 34,265 posts compared to let's say flightoffear1996 who was 12 circles and only 6,594 posts, it doesn't add up to that theory.
  21. Lol...or maybe the surprise is they'll launch a Grand Finale from the SOB on July 4th with somewhat of an "oops" it caught on fire Mishap and a "Oh well, that takes care of that" will then be put to bed!!!
  22. It did get fresh paint in 2005 (hmmmm, prior to it being sold) So, if we see drop cloths around the Eiffel Tower I'd say it's time to bring in the dog and put out the cat because a new sherrif is coming to town. So, very doubtful that will happen anytime soon.
  23. Ok. After 110 Rides in a Row for Coasting for Kids this past Sunday, I now have new found LOVE for "The Racer". The Racer is everything I think an old tyme coaster should ride and feel like! I NEVER had so much fun actually racing and talking to guest who were intrigued about "how many rides have you done?", "are you trying to break a record?" & "you guys are crazy!" all while going up the first lift. It was a Hoot!!! Now, after getting a Beast Tour (which has always been a dream of mine), I took a ride on The Beast about two hours later and for the first time....it seemed like after seeing all the behind the scene stuff, the ride only lasted about a minute and a half. It was the shortest Beast Ride of my life. I don't know why. I guess the way to describe it is to imagine watching a magician do a magic trick and being facinated with it, but once you know the secret and see it performed again, it looses it's Lustre. And, I worked last year in Gatlinburg, TN and one of my employee perks was a VIP pass to Dollywood. I never heard of THUNDERHEAD until then, and all I have to say is WOW! It is one of the most fun and thrilling coasters I've ever rode. I never laughed so hard on a coaster before and that's what this does. It never lets up, even flying through the que house, it was amazing. Final Results: 1) The Beast at Night - The Standard to How I Judge All Other Coasters 2) Thunderhead - The Feel Good Coaster 3) The Racer - The Classic Coaster
