  1. Hang time is ok... But compared to a big dive coaster like valraven or Yukon striker it's underwhelming and lacks the major thrill of a dive coaster. If they go dive, they should commit and stick with B&M. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Anyone else have Kings Island themed costume? My son, who is a huge coaster fanatic, wanted to go as the constellation Orion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Fun place fit a hotel ... But the logistics of parking for the hotel and ability to enter /exit the hotel when the park is open would be tricky Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. While dive coasters might be a "one trick pony" that one trick is amazing... (And I'm assuming you've never ridden Yukon striker which I'd argue had more tricks with the dive under water and inversion). By comparison, Copperhead strike, in my opinion, is a zero trick pony. It's fine, but it really doesn't give you a unique thrill. The stall in the inversion is different... But isn't thrilling. That said, I think it would be awhile before they put another B&M in at KI... and a dive coaster that isn't a B&M is lack luster (i'm looking at you hangtime) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. I'm assuming it's packed... Anyone there to confirm? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. My guess is that they are doing this so that the masses of people who come for haunt (and tend to stay until close) will be parked closer together vs having what are typically more rowdy guests walking to the dark edges of the Soak City parking lot. The implication is that those who come early for haunt get worse parking spots than those who come later... Which seems ridiculous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It was ridiculous. I assumed they are trying to keep large areas open for when people flood in around 6 for haunt... But it seems crazy that those who come later get "rewarded" with the best spots. We walked from past Soak City posing to the front gate. I logged my complaint with guest services. 9. We went. Chaos is a walk through maze, in which the scary has been resolved and there are some "find the clues parts" Shipwrecked is a walk around. You need to ask and figure out where to start... Museum of mystery is a the haunt maze, but with the scary things covered. We were told it was a 30 minute wait and takes 20 minutes to compete. We'll try again another day. We didn't try blackout or the craft area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2019/september/kings-island’s-all-new-hallotween-offers-spooky-fun-haunts-for-young-scare-seekers Has anyone done this? Are the areas of these activities clearly marked on the map? We went Friday and they weren't on the map... But I'm guessing they might have a daytime map and nighttime map for haunt. (And this would only be on the daytime map) Any tips on where each adventure actually starts, and how to progress through the activities? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Any word on if the milestone was hit? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I think you could have gotten it at any park you want... As long as you renewed your platnium and made that park your home park. Once you made KI you home park, then your one time Fast Lane pass was assigned to KI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I bought a new platnium last fall at Kings Island. Since I had a Kings Island gold, the first time I used it last fall was at Cedar Point. Since then, my pass only works for parking at Kings Island once... Then I have to tell guest services and they do something to fix it... It will work one more time after that, but the second visit it won't work for parking, and I have to go back to guest services. Not a big deal, as I always go with others and we can just use their pass to park. But just another example that there are bugs in the system and the people at guest services can make it better, but haven't been able to fix my issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I live nearby. We saw a truck delivering more track this morning. Looked like the start of the lift hill piece. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Price of platnium at the time of your upgrade, minus the price you paid for your gold (even if gold has increased in price by then) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I just read the blog. I'm his example, he referenced 2018 passes that he bought when they were actually in Canada. In that case, I'd understand that the price would be in Canadian. I'm trying to understand, if someone bought platinum today online (while physically in the USA) will it be in Canadian or US dollars (the mobile version isn't clear to me) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Has anyone tried this? I was surprised tu see that the price for a platnium from CW is the same as the other parks, even though I assume it's in Canadian $$. This would make a $197 CA pass about $150 US. Does anyone know if this process as a Canadian payment (and thus is a ton cheaper) or if it still proceed as a US payment and it's no change. If not, why would you buy it from CW if that isn't your home park? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. At the start of the season they posted a phone number in some bathrooms that you could text if there was an issue you needed guest services to be aware of. I've often thought it would be great to text them photos of smokers and locations and see if anyone addresses it, but I haven't actually saved the number to my phone so I never have it when I think of this. Also, I've suggested before that I think it would be great to start a thread of shame on here, where we post pictures of smokers that are outside the smoking areas... So maybe we should do that in this thread? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. They have plenty of land... Seems unlikely they would buy a camp ground when they could just create one on their own land. The parks that have them are all managed by KOA, so I'm assuming Cedar Fair isn't interested in being owners in the campground industry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I did this last year... Upgraded from gold. It's park dependant. Just go to each parks website and look what their 2019 benefit is for 2020 new platnium pass purchases. (Even though you have gold, your a new platnium holder, so you icky get the new platnium perks, not the renewal platinum perks) Whatever that parks benefit is for their 2020 platnium pass in 2019 is what you will get when you go to that park. It is correct that your 2020 platnium dining plan won't work anywhere until 2020. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. They just announced. 2020 gold is now on sale. Includes unlimited visits and parking for the rest of 2019 plus onevfree Fast Lane plus for 2019. This offer is only good through 8/19. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The petting zoo in the outdoor theater on the edge of Planet Snoopy is good... Although I'm not sure if that ended for the summer already. The water park has some fun play areas and splash pads that would be good too. Sundays in the fall, the water park (dry) is set up for trick or treating and has fun games and things (like playing in dry corn) or story time with characters. Also note that there is a hospitality building (fisher homes) across from chick fil a where you can go in and they they have changing tables, air conditioning, refrigerators for formula/milk, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I got a $4 bucket of Carmel popcorn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. And the gold pass will likely stay at it's "lowest price" until at least Haunt... So you'll have plenty of time to get the gold pass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Chicken shack salad is a good option of your little one just wants bread. They get toasted buttery bread, you get a salad with chicken on top. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
