Selling many of my coaster and park related items
DeLorean Rider replied to Shaggy's topic in Kings Island
We're talking about items sold in January 2007, I think thats probably a no. -
Hooray KIC!

I agree; as I hear on a practically daily basis; it's all about design intent. To me, with wooden coasters; records, ratings, extreme G's, etc. are not an important factor in creating an exciting and fun ride experience. Hell, thats Disney's standpoint for all rides and I certainly hope I don't have to get attendance figures to prove it works.
-
Just so we're clear, Racer North and Racer South capacity is calculated completely independently. Also where exactly are you getting these "rider figures" from 2000 and any other year? Also just FYI, in 2000, SOB ran one train a pretty big portion of that season. Coupled with downtimes, thats where you're long lines and low ridership came from.

Boy I just love polls about Son of Beast... And no, the answer is no. The only company currently with pre-fabricated wood coasters is Intamin and believe me; after working with them here at Disney, I can PROMISE you they would NEVER go for such a thing. Besides, SOB's hands are just too bloody. Some reputations you just cant salvage.
-
Sure they did...

Like I always say, there's nothing like a ride where you die and go to hell at the end. Not to mention EVERYone is familiar with the Wind in the Willows right? Just like EVERYone is familiar with Song of the South right? Also I must be the only person who has ridden the Mummy and been disappointed by it. Oh and whoever said Chang; really? I think the world has decided that B&M stand-up coasters are not necessarily crowd favorites.

I simply find the above two rumors to be false.

Hey now, dont you worry, Small World at WDW has some TLC coming it's way in the near future...

Yes but the rules do not apply to Cedar Fair company flags, only American Flags which is not what he is asking about. Though I doubt there is any significance, no one has answered his question.

Having been on 3 different Viking ships that go all the way around, I can firmly say that I greatly prefer those that do not go all the way around. The restraints required for the ride make it incredibly uncomfortable. Extremely constrictive. A polar opposite to the restraints used on Viking Fury.

It should have been almost a hop, skip and a jump to the front of the park to get those plans to Mr. Brady. Of course, they never tell you the name of the park in the episode, they simply say an amusement park in Cincinnati. I guess that can give them some artistic license. Yes, but the log flume (Kenton Cove Keelboat Canal?) clearly says "Kings Island" on it, haha. I just noticed that. So it is indirectly stated in the episode that the park is Kings Island. Hey they had never been to the park before, give them a break. Maybe if they'd had a map it would have been different.

Agreed however there were other factors involved with shockwave's removal. Having ridden shockwave many times as I'm sure you had aswell, I'm sure we can agree that the popularity of The Vortex surpasses that of shockwave; mainly based upon the enjoyment of the ride itself. Vortex still has some seats that will give a good ride. Still popularity can take a back seat when it comes to park additions. Personally, I still believe that unless there is a plan for a new ride who's popularity will be greater than that of The Vortex, there is no need to worry. Obviously, at SF Great America, they were already building onto the parking lot and when Superman Ultimate Flight came into the picture, Shockwave had to go. I don't think that Kings Island would remove The Vortex without replacing it with something as equally thrilling and visually appealing. Given Vortex's twisted nature, it's difficult to find an ugly view of it. The fact that Vortex's location IS such prime real estate within the park both helps and hurts The Vortex. It helps it in that Vortex does a very good job filling the location, appealing to both riders and passerby's, however if a new staple of a ride were to be conceived, Vortex's age combined with the value of its current plot of land would make it a prime target for removal. However; said before though, with the recent addition of both Firehawk and Diamondback, coupled with Cedar Fairs Debt, I find that incredibly unlikely in the near future.

Oh goodness. Wow, this is ceratinly the most absurd thread I've read in quite sometime.

Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure TR
DeLorean Rider replied to TheCryptRaider's topic in Trip Reports
No Disney? I really wish they would keep the Jurassic park ride up better. Such a wonderful trilogy. The effects have degraded quite a bit over the years. -
I would assume he walked into the train warehouse and used a camera.
-
That's going to be pretty difficult considering the day before will be a Thursday and the gates to the parking lot will be locked until shortly before the event on Friday.
-
Perhaps you should update your GPS. They don't do it automatically.

Disney World raising ticket prices
DeLorean Rider replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Indeed. Possibly the most economical thing to do is to purchase a 10 day park hopper and add the never expire option. Ticket prices begin to drop dramatically once you add more days. Below is the pricing breakdown for standard park hoppers. Price Per Day _____Days_______Ages 10+_______Ages 3-9_______Total Price 1 Day Ticket_______$131.00_______$120.00_______$131.00 2 Day Ticket_______$104.00_______$92.50_______$208.00 3 Day Ticket_______$90.33_______$79.67_______$271.00 4 Day Ticket_______$69.25_______$61.00_______$277.00 5 Day Ticket_______$56.00_______$49.40_______$280.00 6 Day Ticket_______$47.17_______$41.67_______$283.00 7 Day Ticket_______ $40.86_______$36.14_______$286.00 8 Day Ticket_______ $36.13_______$32.00 _______$289.00 9 Day Ticket_______ $32.44_______$28.78 _______$292.00 10 Day Ticket_______$29.50_______$26.20_______$295.00
