Cool video I found from@sixohdieselrage dad/uncle [emoji1787]

John Matarese is apparently a big Kings Island/Coaster enthusiast. He’s always posting “news” articles about the park. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of you was actually John Matarese!

Fury fits into .46 of a mile. You have to remember it’s an out and back coaster so you have to double the length. 1 mile of land would give you over 2 miles of track.

You kids and your silly arguments. Back in my day we didn’t have steel coasters let alone any idea what a Giga coaster is. Get to bed! [emoji1787]

Let’s all agree KI is on the map. It is by attendance alone. I also certainly don’t see anyone arguing that this new coaster shouldn’t break any records. To sum it up we all want a new world record breaking coaster. We’re on the same team here peeps!

Personally I do think King’s Island is on “the map”. We do have a great coaster lineup and we are lucky that CF has continued to invest in us. However, I do think we are missing a signature blockbuster coaster. A true “flagship” ride. That was SOB but we all know that story. What ride can you name that makes us unique and a must go destination outside of the other parks. Sure Beast is a great ride, but it’s also 40 years old at this point and is not a coaster that would give you the “I have to ride that” feeling. The other recent additions are great but can also be found at other parks. A record breaking Giga coaster would bring in people from not only in this region, but from around the country and the world. It would be a huge bump in our status in the country not only as having a great lineup but possibly one of, if not the best. We would instantly become a must go to park for the next 5 years plus.

What are your thoughts on why they were there?
-
Yeah I saw that to and thought it would be a cool tie in. I think it would be sweet to have a giant statue like this by the entrance
-
Reading up on Orion, I really like this name and think it could tie in nicely with the area. I also found this tidbit interesting. “Most myths about Orion’s death involve a scorpion, but the stories differ from one mythographer to another. In one tale, Orion boasted to the goddess Artemis and her mother Leto that he could kill any beast on earth.”

Any reason they have left DAs path completely intact? I thought they would have ripped those up while clearing and cleaning the site.
-
Rumor is they were just getting rid of Ash trees. Likely getting ready to plant thousands of saplings. Or it’s still a coaster lol?

Doing some rough calculations, a 350 lift hill would extend just to the end of the Firehawk plot. If they work in some crazy elements this could reach Giga length. I would like to see more clearing to get some length records but it doesn’t appear they are going deeper into the woods. I’m hoping there might be some unseen elements and turns that we can’t identify by the current clearing. The track at CSF clearly indicates a Giga still. I have ruled out a wing or dive as the track isn’t at CSF. It clearly indicates 2 Mega Coasters are in production currently. If you look at the dates on the Hershey track it all appears to have been manufactured between February and now. MCT is currently in production starting in April and I’m sure the first pieces manufactured would be the station and lift (that’s what we are seeing). When we start seeing footers poured the plans should be available from Warren County as has been the case in every other major coaster installation. It does look like land grading is going to start with reports of stakes and flags. I’m still thinking this is a Giga and haven’t seen any evidence against it yet. Thank you to all of you providing on site updates! We are all working hard to decode this 2020 project!

Anything different from WindSeeker?
-
Hmmm... what have they been doing all week lol. I don’t know if we are Giga size yet [emoji53]
-
We won’t be able to tell if there was additional clearing from ET. The area we want see is blocked by trees and Racer
-
I think probably the best spot to see if there is additional clearing would be WindSeeker, Vortex lift hill, and riding Beast. No photos while riding!
-
Tomorrow being Friday... is anyone going to be at the park to update us on any further clearing? I think it will be hard to tell.
-
The transfer piece in the photo I posted is labeled as MCR. I think that is for the Hershey transfer not MCT.
-
This track piece is interesting as it is labeled as Station 3 It is curved and in the middle of two straight station pieces (2 and 4). Anyone have any insight on how this would work?
-
Guys/Gals... this is obviously not the final paint color and is just a primer. The Hershey track has manufacturing dates written anywhere from early March through now. There are 98 photos on Midway Mayhem site. I suggest you check them out. Here is previously primed then painted sections of various coasters and they all have the same primer color. We can’t rule out Gray but I’d say it is highly unlikely as the finish coat. Banshee Valraven Fury 325

Here is a shot of the rag on Hershey’s hyper support. Hopefully we’ll eventually find a tag like this on the gray track.
