Total water usage must be just astounding between all the attractions, restrooms, food service, landscaping etc.

I love to walk through there, comming out of the millennium tunnel is always a letdown. Time to put the sunglasses back on and get ready to bake on the concrete. There is just something about the walk from there over to near Valravyn that just seems to drain me.

^ Have any figures for the park as a whole? I imagine between SC and the other water rides that figure could easily double in the summer.

And all this time I thought a crew of Umpa Lumpas were in that room manually turning valves.

The 12/11 Santa Hustle 5K route appears to loop around by the old MS entrance and the Half Marathon runs along Perimeter Road. 1/3 of participants are walkers so unless they ban cameras on the event there should be lots of progress videos/pics at that time. -
Correct. Just the C & K parks. The others are apparently not worthy.

Agree some are better at CP but have never been thrilled with TTD photos, then again it is moving a tad faster. Keep in mind the digital photos they provide are 300dpi, but if you order a print they use a 600dpi source. So if you use the associate vs. the kiosk they can do some editing/centering?
-
Possibly but the main reason I never purchased one was what was I going to do with it? Let it get ruined carrying it around all day? Buy a locker? Run it out to the car to bake and get distorted? They just seemed impractical to me. The current system is a giant step in the right direction, if I want a higher quality photo I can order it online and have it delivered. If I were to design a system from the ground up it would involve ordering kiosks only and a central QC hub with a couple of associates to edit out the bird flippers or whatever.

Back in the day SFSTL used to use a lot more open air que buildings that had AC blasting but those have slowly disappeared over the years. The cost of running that much AC would be extremely expensive these days. Setting aside my boys issues, I don't think I could stand in a 90 minute que on a summer day. I sweat way to much and drink way more water than most. A souviner cup would not suffice even if it was allowed in the que. I do carry a couple collapsable water bottles for that reason but would need a lot more and probably start having problems stuffing them in my pockets. I agree E-que systems are the future, but they need to be rock solid. A down or jumbled system could be catastrophic.

So installed patented RMC products are not enough to elevate above the rumor level for you? C'mon Man!

^ I agree it is silly and I am sure they have their reasons for handling communications about MS they way they are but being so secretive is just setting up the potential for problems. Some people have to much time on their hands and are just to fanatical about coasters. Attempts will be made either on shore or off shore. It just seems like it would be better to put a web cam on it or release some construction photos periodically to feed The Beasts. In the end they would likely be able to control the communication better that way. 99.9% of the community will obey the rules and be responsible, a few will not and then if CF then blames the community for the actions of those few, that is what I would find silly. Hopefully that won't happen. Regarding SFSTL, if everyone is healthy we will be visiting family over the holiday break so I will likely go to check it out BUT given the short hours (2-9) and limited rides available I am not going in expecting to ride anything. The lines potentially could be huge and standing in line in freezing temps for an hour or two would be very unpleasant. Winter in St. Louis tends to be overcast and moist. Fine for being outside and active, but not standing still. -
SFSTL has their HitP page up. BTR, Pandemonium, Freeze, Ninja and American Thunder are on the bill. So if you can't wait until March for your GCI fix here is an option. https://holiday.sixflags.com/stlouis/things-to-do/#holiday-thrills

SF has moved on to their next phase of Fall pass sale, the previous process by deadline was 11/6. Looking at the SFSTL site the deal is 4+ passes for $54.99 and must process by Dec 31st for Gold benefits. This is the "Superman" upgrade vs. the "Batman" uprade. I have no idea what the difference is, best I could tell they have different bring a friend days. I will probably grab this one becuase we will be in STL for Christmas visiting family.

^ I don't pay a whole lot of attention to such things, but I know I have seen blue navigation lights on the tops of lift hills. You don't want the Medivac chopper crashing into you $15M coaster.

KIC Off Season 2017 Poll Series Week II: Kings Island Food 2016
King Ding Dong replied to BB1's topic in KI Polls
They really need a minimum of 3 more self serve beverage stations. Near entrance, Action Zone, X-base/Vortex. Unless I just haven't found them yet. Something down near beast would be good as well. -
Cedar Point workers on Strike

I think in most circumstances picket lines these days are more virtual. I can't recall seeing any of the old school, hand holding, block access lines in at least 30 years or more. Crossing them may have consequences but not getting the crap beat out of you. -
KIC Off Season 2017 Poll Series Week II: Kings Island Food 2016

The only service issues I had were at the Snoopy area ice cream and grill locations. I felt like a problem they wanted to go away. Ate at Reds once and the waiter was phenomenal. Food quality seems about on par with my experiences at SF. I loved park food when I was kid, not sure if it was really any better back then or just nostalgia. The Coney Potato Works seemed that have the best chicken strips in both Ohio parks and the burrito bowl place near it was decent and had better meat than SFSTL. SC seemed to have a very efficient food service the 2 times we ate there. -

It seems rarely do us outsiders fully know the issues involved in labor disputes so I personally don't take sides. The way I see it the MS and hotel projects could be delayed without substantial harm to CF, but areas of CPS are all torn up so that could cause really big problems for next season if the waterpark were unable to open. Let's all hope the two sides can reach a mutually acceptable agreement quickly. -
What are Kings Islands Plans after Mystic Timbers?
King Ding Dong replied to louisvillecards1's topic in Coming Attractions
I suspect their plans will focus on increasing per cap spending to pay for the thing. -
Given the #whatsintheshed secrecy, I doubt we are going to see much of that part of the construction.

Which is the longer walk to the station? The Bat or The Boss? It has been a couple of years for me.
-
Your are right once a day would be rather labor intensive (but fun for the pilot), the webcams are rather passive. Once or twice a week would be enough.

They should probably get their own drone and just fly it over the area once a day and post the video. Might even have one already.
