Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
King Ding Dong replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
Unless the FBI/NSA/Iluminatti get ahold of it Find my IPhone cannot be turned off without entering your iCloud password and should function once it is powered on and has a cell or wifi signal. Keep checking every day. I would also consult some iPhone blogs like Imore.com for tips on retrieving a lost IOS device. Good luck. Regarding that image. Just brainstorming here and I fully admit I know little of the history here but could the plans be a ruse and they are building an improved flume? What about that one they took out of CP? Does CF relocate rides often? -
^Agreed. Cool sign, nice job. With that sign I might even be tempted to ride it. (Walk on only)

Although soap is likely to cause water chemistry issues and I imagine could get you in trouble with KI, I wonder if a coating of suntan oil would help prevent the type of issue he has.
-
Absolutely. Otherwise radio stations would use generic national music tests. They may use them as a general guide if their budgets don't allow for a full local test at the moment but music tastes and demographics definitely are different from one market to the next. I can't provide you and specific examples becuase the data is proprietary but some tracks will test very differently between two cities relatively close together such as Columbus and Cleveland. Another good example in radio is a format called Active Rock and it is harder and edgier than your average rock station and can get very good ratings. The problem is those stations generally have a really tough time performing in revenue becuase many advertisers don't want the demographic it attracts.

They got new stuff. Is that not a good thing?

@upstop Did you have Find my iPhone enabled with an iCloud account? -
Tube and mat slides yes, body slides no. Tankinis are ok as long as there are no sleeves. I checked with a supervisor to make sure rules applied to both sexes.

Perfect the KI to CP Coaster with a transfer in Columbus. They might even be able to levy and uncharge for that. -
Thanks for the responses. The boys are fair redheads so they wear rash guards but they can't on body slides. I suppose a one piece surf style suit would help but would look out of place and probably not worth it for one ride. Plenty of other stuff to do.

Does anyone know if this is a ProSlide? The reason I ask is SFSTL has a 2 tube trap door slide called Bonzai Pipeline and it caused some friction or "rug burns" on my oldest boy's spine. My spine was a bit uncomfortable the first time I rode it but no visible injury. When we looked at Tropical plunge we both commented that the angle seemed less severe than the one at SFSTL. No idea what caused the issue. He is really skinny, like green alien skinny, and I am far from that. . I think it was opening season for it so it could have been to much or not enough water or maybe just his body type. He doesn't have any issues on any other body slides, but understandably is rather hesitant to give it a try. Has anyone had any issues or have any suggestions?

When the Hitachi Magic Excavator gets pulled out you know exciting times are ahead. -
Can't think of one at KI but "The Giant Wheel" at CP??? Seems rather generic, is there a backstory to that?
-
Wow. It is 86F/43%. Seems perfect park weather to me. Much cooler and my oldest would complain about freezing after WWC.

I am not involved with the amusement park business but am indirectly involved in entertainment/music. I highly suspect they know exactly what they are doing and basing their decisions off marketing studies they have conducted, perceptual as well as focus groups. Why do radio stations these days only play the hits and skip all the deeper tracks? Becuase that's what the vast majority of people want. Neilson/Arbitron have these nifty devices now called Personal People Meters that are like beepers that participants carry around and through inaudible tones broadcast over the air are able to record what people are actually listening to at a given moment. A radio programmer can sit at their desk and in real time see the impact their decisions are having on listenership. The sad fact is people just want to hear the hits. Licensing/royalty issues may play a part as well. It is very possible they have worked out arrangements with ASCAP/BMI or even record labels directly.

An excellent choice are the current BSA uniform shorts/swim trunks. Synthetic quick drying, one zipper pocket, one pocket has a dry sack on a tether, no exposed metal so good for waterpark. Up to size 3X. All for only $20 at your local Scout Shop. -
Cedar Point help

I can't help you there but it is good to hear I don't have as much to lose as I thought to get back in the game. -
Old pics are always a treat. Thanks! Was this park ever a big concert venue beyond the current Christian flavor? SFSTL was and a couple of years ago a guest services emp was able to compile a fairly complete list of the acts that played over the years. It was really cool to see some of the big names that played and even a few I had attended in my youth. Anyone know of anything similar for KI?

Those images don't look good. I sure hope there are no serious injuries. 2004 Pinfari. Looks to be a mobile inverted. http://rcdb.com/2433.htm -

Careful, you don't want to end up under the tarps.Tarps, not Terps. -
This is the first season in several years I have not had a SF Gold SP. Labor Day 2014 I purchased 4 Gold and 3 meal plans for 2015, then promptly in November my wife was fired and we had to move. We didn't get to use them at all. The boys and I moved up here in June 2015 so we just got Zoombezie Bay passes because my youngest still wasn't into rides. Between CF and Zoo passes I am about in for about $1400, so for now I just want to focus on using them and dropping the pounds so I can actually ride. Certainly will get them when we get a hankering for visiting SFSTL on a trip back home. Since we are so close to Canada now I will work on the passport cards but that will still be another $120 at least for the whole family.. From my understanding you can go into Canada without them the problem is getting back. I could just buy them for my wife and I and then let Canada feed, house and educate my boys for awhile. They might be better off. The other issue that gives me pause on traveling for parks is my boys have issues and are done after 4-6 hours. Thanks for the input folks!
