By 2035 Kings Island Will Have What?
whengodsaysgo replied to kingsislandfan1972's topic in Kings Island
I agree about corporate sponsorship. Money talks. I'm pro dome for shizzle. I may have been subconsciously influenced by @kingsislandfan1972's profile pic, but I pictured the Max Headroom scene in BTTF Part 2. I think all of the food services will be completely automated, whether it be assembly line style bots or a more humanoid AI. For some reason this concept for ride ops bothers me. Speaking of rides, I think the theming of future coasters and rides will be insanely awesome and ride experiences will be more immersive. I think we will see more indoor coasters. I do hope that VR doesn't take over everything. Back to snacks. I'm assuming everything will be portable and customizable. Perhaps a themed indoor sit down restaurant, maybe even a sweet new take on the IS restaurant or even better: a restaurant in the Eiffel Tower on that 50 foot deck. A girl can dream. Don't hate. PS - I'm thinking blue ice cream will be a thing forever. -
I'm not a huge fan of water rides but I have fond memories as a kid marathoning KCKC. I'd also love to have another few spins on King Cobra. Defunct rides I never got to ride but would like to have had the opportunity include the Bavarian Beetle, Screamin Demon, Zodiac and Flight Commander.

As long as they don't mess with my taters, we are good. They're my favorite meal in the park.

I wish we had patches! Also, better sticker selections. I love stickers! I'd love to see this magical coat of yours!

I'm late to the party again, but I'm here to share my final thoughts on my Gravity experience this summer. Like I've said a million times before, I never imagined I'd fall in love with a show like I have Gravity. The KI Theatre was a lovely retreat from the weather, but even more so it was wonderful to become immersed in another world for thirty minutes at a time. If it was an all-day park day for me, it was nothing for me to watch three or four times a day (depending on the day of course). I connected with so many lovely people who also love the show. It was such a breath of fresh air, and this being my first season as a super fan as @Magenta Lizard calls us, I don't have previous seasons to compare it to. I've heard that some liked the past seasons more than this one. I've always been in love with space and when I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut. I'm not sure if it was that, or the talented cast, or the thrills of the acts or what, but I enjoyed every minute of every show. @Lieutenant Phil and the rest of the cast brought their best every time. They pulled out all the stops with such energy and passion that as an audience member, you couldn't help but feel you had travelled to Planet 6328. Each act evolved and developed and was perfected as the weeks went by. I, for one, loved it when one of the characters would switch up their wording or do something a little different. The fact that they were having a blast, made us have a blast. The energy was infectious and uplifting. I'm looking forward to watching their journeys on social media, and would love to have them back next season! Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication. I was honored to participate in the blog meet up on the closing weekend of the show. We got a glimpse into what rehearsals look like and got to ask questions of the entertainment department and the cast. We got preferred seating during the show, and afterwards we were taken a few at a time backstage. We were able to greet the cast and see the green room and backstage areas. We were shown the video that Ariane had filmed and edited about the show. I'm so grateful to Kings Island and @DonHelbig not only for providing such wonderful entertainment for us, but also providing us this rich behind the scenes look at Gravity.

The only coaster with the longer restraints is Banshee rows 4 and 5. Also if you ask the ride op to pull up on the vest, you’ll have a much comfier ride. I’d say sure bets for sure are Adventure Express and Bat. Backlot is also a decent bet. Depending on how you carry your weight is what determines the fit. For example, I carry mine low, so restraints that attach between the legs can be uncomfortable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@Fye Coasters Did you ever find elusive photo?

That's so cool!!!! We should invite him back for a night ride on The Beast. I volunteer to host him.
-
You know, I could get down with this. Just leave the OG alone.
-
I know the one at The Beast has been there since at least the beginning of last season when I started returning to the park. The one at Mystic was for sure there at Winterfest, although I don't have proof. It may have even been there for Haunt or before.

I remember the shop. I also remember wonderful cool misters hanging from the corner of that little facade. I miss the paw prints.

Welcome to KIC, @KingLlama! That's so cool! What an amazing experience!

I turned 10 in October of 1992. This was in the days where I'd stay up watching the original Beverly Hills, 90210, and all of the stars from the show were the coolest thing since sliced bread. I remember hearing about this special, and watching it "live" when it aired for the first time. It was then that I discovered the Smurf ride had been taken out and replaced with Phantom Theatre. I remember trying to always sit in the same seat as Jason did on the (now) Great Pumpkin Coaster. I still love watching the special now and again - it brings back so many good memories. This is the first KI I remember encountering as a kid.

I didn't realize they had saved that loading platform! I wonder what that area would look like from above? Back then and now?
-
That’s right! Gosh it’s been so long. Also, does Phantom/Scooby/Boo Blasters count? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know that WWC (has) and Enchanted Voyage (had) revolving loading docks. The third is escaping me.

So, scrolling Instagram on break, I discovered Ariane’s (orange alien) profile. There’s a link at the top to take a tests and see which Gravity character you are. Here are my results. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

*~*~*~*BUMP*~*~*~* Hey guys! Let's talk about the GOOD experiences we've had this season. I rode AE on Monday and when I approached the station, there was a large group of guys of all ages singing songs from Guardians of the Galaxy (good choice, fellas ). Eli, on spiel, was singing with them, and suggesting other songs. They sang the entire time they were waiting for the gates to open, during load and restraint check, and as they were leaving the station. (ooga chaca, ooga chaca) Eli then continued to spiel and had the biggest smile and positive energy. As he checked my restraint, I commented about how awesome that was, and he said, "Man, I can't wait for them to come back into the station!!!" You could tell he was having a blast and was spreading the love to everyone around him. I stopped by GS and gave him a good shout out!

Gravity has been amazing this season! And it just keeps getting better! The performers have made little changes here and there at various times that make for a much richer experience for those of us who have seen it a time or two. I saw it three times on Monday, and Ariane changed up her alien lingo spiel so much so that Phil almost lost it. She was extra feisty and you could see the laughter vibrating in his throat. When chained to the wall after the purple alien act, Keith remarked that he'd rather have gone to Kings Island than exploring. Phil was nearly eaten by the tube alien and after he escaped from its clutches, he "wiped goo" off of himself. When he is accosted by the alien crew towards the end of the show, Vincent had started screaming at him in the past month or so, and sometimes Ariane knocks him out with her powers; sometimes Jet would drag his body off stage, sometimes not. During one of the shows on Monday, when Vincent started his outburst, Phil turned around a screamed back. Vincent screamed and ran off stage. All of these little nuances have made me love it even more. I never imagined I'd want to spend time watching the same show three times a day instead of catching rides, but the challenge has now become the challenge of how much to fit in BETWEEN shows.

Walking through Rivertown recently behind a man carrying a small child on his shoulders: Kid: Hey, Dad! Dad! Aren't you like super good at football and stuff? Dad: Nope!

I love a good conspiracy!!!!

I lazily crossed off a few items and added a note or two in a pretty orange color. Yay! What this list is showing me is how many friends I've made on these boards. To think it all started with a Google search for a park map at the beginning(ish) of last season, and now I have made so many friends, had so many amazing experiences and made so many unforgettable memories. It makes my eyes sweaty with respect.

July 30: Third Time's the Charm for Six Hundred
whengodsaysgo replied to VortexBFForever's topic in Trip Reports
It was such an honor to share a milestone ride with you! Riding with you was on my bucket list, and I achieved that AND got to be a part of your amazing Vortex journey. I had ridden once earlier in the day, and then four times in a row with you... I hadn't done that in I don't want to admit how many years. It reminded me of being a teenager walking around the park marathonning (sp?) all of our favorite coasters - racing out the exits and back into the queues as many times as humanly possible before close. I may not do it every day, but I'll never forget cramming four Vortex rides in between Gravity shows with you! Here's to 600 more!- 1 reply

Thursday when @Magenta Lizard and I rode, the red was down and the blue was running. This was early in the day and we didn't make it back to Racer again, so it may have opened up.
