Oh wait, I forgot about Power Tower. Not a bad ride. Not as forceful as DZ is, either. That and Disaster Transport went down while I was in line. Yeah, the fact that Coaster Con 17 was being held that day didn't help matters much either. I saw LOTS of ACErs and talked to a few as well. Arrgh. I hate when my planning goes awry. >_< I wanted to ride more, but it was a pretty heavy day. Especially for a Wednesday. *sigh* ~S~

Well, I finally hit the Point for the first time in my life. I must say, I am impressed mostly in their steel. I'll go ahead and rate the rides I rode. Coasters Top Thrill Dragster-While it doesn't win any points with me in the creativity department, the experience itself is just unreal. This coaster has won me over totally. 10/10 Millenium Force-Great Steel all around. Even with the T-Bar all the way down, I had some massive airtime. Highly reccomended. 10/10 Iron Dragon- Resembles Gun in a few ways, but this one seems like a good primer coaster. The mist effects are cool though. Last half is the best. 7/10 Corkscrew-Starts you out thrilling and leaves you hanging. MUCH too short. 4/10 Flats/Etc Space Spiral-This is a nice, relaxing view of the park while hearing a canned recorded speech throughout. Nice view, nasty temperature. 6/10 SkyRide-Reminicent of our old Skylab. Useful to get to one side of the park to the TTD Midway. Just don't shake the car. 7/10 Giant Wheel-Definitely something to cuddle on. Has a good view of the Lake Erie Shoreline and Wicked Twister (Where I got to see a guy "Run", which was quite amusing) 7/10 Other notables- I'm not exactly very fond of their loose article policy. Putting hats in your shirt? Pfft. That's an easy loss if you wear really loose shirts. That and you can't take any bags into the ride area. I don't think I want to mess with a locker, either. Associate wardrobe-A little weird. Makes me glad I have the wardrobe that I do. Arcades-Nice. They vary from vintage arcade machines to the newest. Not bad. Overall-You're looking at an 8/10 Great coasters, but a few things bring it down. Try coming up sometime. lol ~S~

If the 'Tex is there to stay, they really should work on the trains or track. It just keeps getting rougher every year. Compared to it's Arrow cousin over in AZ (Gun), it's very rough. Then again, they do say Arrows get rougher with age. ~S~

Yeah, I didn't really see much difference in the food at CP. The Burgers at Coasters were your basic burgers that were halfway decent, but could have been better. If there's anything you should try first and foremost (that is, if you're into shrimp), try Bubba Gump's. It's well worth the money, and the staff is quite interesting. Their welcome cheer will stick in your mind like glue. ~S~

Wow, I'm suprised nobody bothered to do the Delirium Spiels. Well, here you go: Number Spiel (Long Version)-"Ladies and gentleman, as you walk through the gate you will be given a NUM-BER. This number is your seat number. Please remember that number and sit in that seat. Also, if you have any loose articles such as hats, keys, cell phones, and any other carry on items, we ask you to put them in the two metal boxes to the sides of the ride area. Thank you, and enjoy your ride on Delirium and enjoy the rest of your day here at PKI" Height spiel-"In order to ride Delirium you must be at least 54" and no taller than 6'4" " The load gate speils change almost all the time, but it usually includes the whole getting to your seat number and placing all the loose articles in the bins. Then there's the Slingshot pre-launch spiel: "In a few minutes you will be tilted back into the pre-launch position. We ask that you keep your head against the headrest at all times throughout the launch. When you hear the both of us say 'Clear', you'll be shot 260 feet in the air/off you go! Any questions?" ~S~

Delirium by far. Not just because I work at it, but because it gives the rider a great experience. ~S~

First Ride this season: Beast. It caught me off guard on the first drop, which produced a classic look of terror. Too bad I couldn't afford the ORP. ~S~

Bad Bradley! *thwack!* Anyway, Happy B-Day Sparky! Sparky: Counquering the world, one thrill ride at a time. ~S~

What is the most stupid complaint you have heard?
shadow2k3 replied to dragonqwen's topic in KI Polls
I was working greeter and I asked a ceartin lady to get behind the yellow line while the ride is in motion. She complained to one of my sups about it, I think. Lady, we do that for your safety. Please follow the rules. ~S~ -
Amen there! Guys should keep their pants at the waist, and girls should cover themselves up! It was nice before hand, now it's just gross. You're at an amusement park, not a street corner! ~S~

Which is totally the reason I hate BAFFD. Once I can't walk straight... I'm mad. ~S~

I remember a laser show. If I remember right, all the Paramount stars had blew off the logo and this guy had to go search for them. I can't remember the details, just the plot for the whole thing. Shaggy would know for sure. ~S~

Eh, it was alright. Cheesy jokes abound, and it was kind of lame. But making fun of Britney is always fun. Britney is teh sux0rs.. (excuse my leet speak.. lol) ~S~

What's the funniest thing you've ever seen at Pki?
shadow2k3 replied to Columbus coasternut's topic in Kings Island
Not so. Watch the episode of Mythbusters on Discovery Channel about that very saying. They threw pennies off the Empire State Building, and it didn't crack any cement. So how could a penny crack someone's head open? Now a popcan... I dunno about that... ~S~ -
Whats the scoop on how rough the beast is?
shadow2k3 replied to DaBeastIsOnFire's topic in Coming Attractions
Faster, yes. Rougher, not so. I rode The Beast once this season and I wasn't knocked around at all. It was more like being shaken up from how freakin fast it was going. SOB is a different story. It's rougher than it's daddy, but not as rough as it was last season. The Rose Bowl refurbish did rather well IMO. Oh, and the "Hollywooding" of The Beast... meh. ~S~ -
What's the funniest thing you've ever seen at Pki?
shadow2k3 replied to Columbus coasternut's topic in Kings Island
I have two: - I was working greeter at Delirium this past Saturday, and I had a guest who was most likely in their 30s or so. She stepped on the height scale and said jokingly, "You sure I'm tall enough?". So I had her do the whole lineup thing (Feet together, stand up straight, head forward), and I might have laughed for a good 4 or 5 minutes. For those who were wondering, yes she was tall enough. -I was either off work or waiting for it, and I had just got off of WWC. I went to the geyser area after riding, got some quarters, and nailed a few people. I think the best hit I got was a hot chick in a white halter top. The look on her face was like she just tasted the worst thing ever. Those were good times... (Sorry Sparky. ) ~S~ -
New bill would prohibit minors from operating amus
shadow2k3 replied to Columbus coasternut's topic in Kings Island
Man... what a load of crap. I may be a Major, but I have to sympathize with the minors on this. Every rides associate knows that driving is a BIG responsibility. When you dispatch that ride, you're putting multiple lives in your hands as said before. I don't think that you would want to be blamed for hurting a crapload of people, which is why we have to take driving seriously. If they are trained properly, and they take it seriously, then they should be able to drive. If they don't take it seriously, they shouldn't have the right. Point blank. ~S~ -
For some reason, I feel obliged to say that it's probably not Jeff doing some of those spiels. It's too high pitched to be Jeff. Unless he hikes his voice up or something. *shrug* Why don't we just ask him ourselves? ~S~

Sparky, bar-none. There are days where he just can lash out the perfect smart ass comment at the strangest times. So here you go Sparky! *Hands him a rice ball* ~S~

Do you like the idea of having Dj's in the line?
shadow2k3 replied to TopThrillDragster's topic in KI Polls
It really depends. I know that it would give the associates peice of mind. Looping music is one of our worst enemies! But then again you have to think about people complaining that the music is crappy, too trashy, etc. Heh. If it works for CP.. then it might work for us. Who knows. ~S~ -
Yeah, I did a little research.. and I changed the post. Talk about looking before you leap. lol... Oh, feel free to give this thread the lockdown. My question has been answered. ~S~

Picture on Al's webpage.... He gives credit to PKI on this ride. But for those who don't know, it's really Anaconda at PKD. How odd. I guess even webmasters make mistakes. XD ~S~

Honestly.. I'm just waiting. Good things come to those who wait. ~S~

Al's Official Message on the website. Some people cope with losses differently. Ozzy may have cancelled a few shows to be with Sharon, but that's Ozzy. Al is greiving, no doubt about it. But he is trying to keep himself in a decent enough mental condition to keep himself functional. As you can plainly see, he's just trying to cope with the loss. The fanbase that he has is very supportive of him and feel almost exactly the way he does. If any of you can recall the John Lennon disaster, his fans greived and mourned through his death, and tried to comfort Yoko. The Yankovic community is the same way. We're like a family, a close one at that. He's doing what he feels that's best for him and his family. He's not shunning his parents.. far from it. He owes a lot of credit to his parents, and they probably would have wanted him to keep going. They were very proud of him and supported him throughout the years. If he feels that continuing the tour would be best for him and his family, so be it. You don't control his life, he can make his own decisions. Thank you. ~S~

It would be nice.. but it would also be dangerous. Not at PKI... Safety, safety, safety! ~S~
