As for the deconstruction, if nothing is going in there in the foreseeable future what is the rush? Locking in the labor rates of today vs projected? Steel is at a premium for scrap? Something is coming sooner than later? As tight lipped as they were about Orion with even with all the clearing and work going on for the site, my gut tells me they wont even remotely acknowledge it till as late in the game as possible. At least that is my overstated opinion to which I have no facts to back it up with.

Ill look for it the next time Im heading back down 75, probably be Thursday.

I75 south to Morone? So before exit 38? That’s a quite a distance, even as far south as exit 28 would be also. Now on I71 at the 28 exit you can see Orion towering above the park(all 3 hills) and I think it’s scale is more correct from there. I’ve been wondering on where I could stop or walk to get the shot but have decided it not worth the risk... that is unless a blazing sunset presented its self and I had a few mins to spare.

Thanks! It’s a photostitch/photomerge where I took 12 photos with a focal length that obvious didn’t fit the entire coaster in and went back later and megered(or stitched if you prefer) them together so I would have a much larger photo size to work with. I’m going to guess it could print at least something in the 3x5 feet range with no real degradation in photo quality. Sure. Anyone ask about it just tell them to check out our Instagram as there is more of that there and more yet to come.

I’m surprised we didn’t get that span of track put in today. We have less than an hour of sunlight and the cranes appear to be down...
-
Lightroom mobile, paying 4.99 a month. The track should be soon as they have the front piece of that support in now.

Lightroom.

Good, I saw it both ways on my computer and iPhones. I think the halfway point may be further down the line than the turn around, but it also depend on where you are measuring from and to. If it’s station to station, I’d say maybe at or after the speed hill. If it’s from the station to the brake run, the peak of turn around may be it? Sure makes it seem very short...

I took this one on Wednesday night, which was either the first or second night that the large red crane was finally taken down. I also found out how to export my photos on mobile with a watermark and I’ll test the waters to see how posting here goes.

Thanks, likewise. If your at the park often enough you have probably seen my son and I running around. He is in a few of the photos on the account. I saw I was getting a share or two from Hawaiian Coasters here so I figured I’d just share it myself as I’m usually getting time sensitivity shots(as in the pieces in the air). Lastly, is this what cell phone users are seeing? Or does it say go to Instagram to see post? I’ve been sharing through Instagram as it keeps my photos centrally located across the various platforms and websites along with that fact a photo lifted off of Instagram is highly downrezed compared to the others.

I have 20/16 vision and can not usually see anything worth viewing on that web cam now that it has moved toward the back. Anyhow, I was in the area and got a few decent ones worth posting for the sake of posting.

They took down the rest of that support and moved the cranes. They must have done the rest of it this morning in the rain. Makes me wonder what the urgency is...And I say that with watching as long as it took them to get that up yesterday. They worked on it until two in the afternoon before they even put up the rear support. The attempted capping off of those supports was a little bit before 430. By 445 the cap was down and 530 they had the front support down.
-
Forgive my double post, but it also looks like they took down the “front” part of that support structure as I watched from back here in the park by antiques.
-
The support went up and then came down Going up and in. Gone...

@JonahWilliamson You going to procam in Amelia? That in itself is a little jaunt from the park and the traffic should be somewhat manageable back to the park by then. Are you coming down 71 to 275 to 32 to get there? You may hit traffic that way and add about 30 mins for cutting across Columbus on 71. The closer you get the south end of town the worse it will get. Last stupid question, why not go to Midwest photo which is a slight detour there in Columbus? Anyhow, safe travels and hope you enjoy the time.
-
We will be there, hoping they throw up this next support structure and top off the turn around today.
-
From that angle it does look like that support may be taller than the second hill and the next piece of track is in.
-
That sun is murder on the webcam, doesn’t make shooting from this angle outside of the park any better
-
It’s a support

The weather is pretty miserable here in general. Cold, wet drizzle and dreary... Ive been decorating the lawn with Christmas decorations and its a bogg, I cant image what a swamp that must be back there and how hard it would be to work in it.
-
You are welcome. The more I look this hill over, the crazier it looks. It doesn’t look like the gentle sweeping hill the POV made it out to be. It appears that this hill of Orion may have some intamin style transitions... at least I can hope!
-
Its now dipped below the trees. I also like how the early morning sun really rims out the track and gives some dimension to it. I also wanted to mention that coming over from Kings Mills you can see this hill now and the lift is majestic from that angle. Also, when coming back from Columbus yesterday at exit 28, you can also see this clear as day and it towers over the park.

Welcome. I’m up in Columbus today and didnt have all day to sit and wait, so these two luckily fit in my schedule today. It really does have a serious bank, and even though we have talked about it to no end, seeing it really brings it home. I’m going to say that I would rather have it on more of an overbank like i305 or MF from experiences on those coasters, but this may blow them both away. I’m also wondering how much this will slow it down before going into the turn around as this hill is 187 and the next is 202.
