The two popular angles that I grabbed this afternoon. The sky is drab and the lighting is not optimal.

weatherbug.com With that, looks like the park is dead on international street. It is only a screen capture every 15 mins or so.

That piece was not installed as of yesterday, so if his picture is from today and not photoshopped they added another piece of track. Seems strange that they would have it extended out with the next support group not ready to catch it. Im heading over within the hour.

Here are a few from inside the park tonight. Shot from the entranceway of Urgent Scare. Shot from the antique autos right after Killmart exit Shot from the end of the course area of antique autos. Last one just for fun as we were coming in the park after opening with some of the Haunt atmosphere.

I’m not surprised they put that piece of track on as it makes sense structurally, just bummed I missed it after being over there off and on all day. At least I got what I got.

Orion Coming to Kings Island in 2020
Waltny replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I would think that would bleed off quite a bit of it’s speed with those massive hills. -
How many elements would one say this has?
-
My son and I are here. Are you talking about the crane that was in the corner of the parking lot by Great Wolf Lodge?
-
I would agree with the first part as it will more than like be the record holder for Kings Island. I’ve reserved a small amount of hope for a surprise to the layout, but I am also highly doubting it.

Sling Shot is supposed to be the fastest at 85-100mph(depending on load) followed by Diamondback at 80 mph and Delirium at 76 mph.
-
Agreed. It’s semantics to call the elevator a “drop”, but technically he isn’t wrong. It’s more of that marketing magic to say it will be the highest point in the park a guest can go. Two completely different experiences and target audiences...
-
Record drop is Chad’s exacts words... so all it has to do is beat 275
-
Drop Tower is 315 and the Effile tower is 314. The observation decks are only 265/275 and I think drop tower is 265 drop. New coaster should be taller than both drops.

I’m a bit surprised to see them put all that stuff in there as it was going to be tight anyhow. I saw someone on Facebook who I know works for the park talk about possibily opening up the areas along The Racer(like on the behind the scenes tours) to fit everyone in. Just looking at the pictures I don’t know how that will work either. We will be there in a bit and maybe it will make more sense seeing where they are at currently.

It this including the alleged longest and tallest brake run?

This is an issue Ive been mulling over since the teasers started coming out. If everything we think we know is true via the blueprints, why oversell a statistical lesser ride than most were expecting? Ive heard it here and elsewhere that Kings Island is "only" a regional family park and will always be the lesser(ride intensity wise) of the two Ohio parks and this coaster needs to built with the GP expressly in mind(nothing super intense like TTD or I305). So with that, the whole end of the world theming seems out of place. It all seems like one big swerve at this point and I go into Thursdays announcement with little to no expectations.
-
That’s not entirely true as I saw 2 folks get at least 2 or more via fast pass.
-
Like one of those fun house tunnels that messes with your eyes and balance?
-
So it’s looking like tomorrow might be the day then for the final tease and announce date... or not.
-
I might be able to beat this. Someone on IG got on me from my post on the blueprints and said “this is going to be a skyhigh coaster” and after I said they were just contractors for the vertical portion he said “why would they build a competitors coaster?” I’ll post a screen shot for entertainment later if anyone wants to see it. Honestly think it’s someone trolling and looking for an argument. BUT... if it were a flying giga and had a manta style drop up into a pretzel loop, SIGN ME UP!

The other thing about the staggered stadium seating on Diamondback is that it makes the trains longer and in my opinion greater chance for varied experience up and down the train. Row 8 on Fury is approximately middle of the train on DB, but I’m sure part of the argument would be about which one has the greater forces and intensity to begin with.

SooperDooperLooper at Hersey Park sometime in the late 80's. I was somewhere around 11 at the time.

Then all the 13 year old kids at the fence were right last night. Somewhat surprised if true.
