That’s three words

Better yet, why not wait another 2 years and save even more money and make something massive for the park’s 50th.
-
I do, and this is correct. Capacitor banks are common practice anymore to even out loads. I think even Delirium has one, and uses the electric motors as generators at the end of the ride cycle, effectively braking/slowing the ride and recovering some of that power.
-
Yes. For example, I have the complete CAD site plans to Mystic Timbers. Contractors ask for the CAD files all the time to do takeoffs. Engineers also receive CAD files (along with an NDA) when the architect/owner sends them an RFP.

Aren't most of these drilled piers? I'd expect to see Goettle or Scherzinger out there before any normal spread footings get excavated and poured.
-
Yes... this has been irking me.
-
There is far too much detail there to have not been created by someone who knew exactly what they were doing.
-
I am basing that off of physical dimensions as represented on a plan view. I cannot think of any reason why the footings would not be shown at the correct dimensions in plan. I would refute that the footings are not meant to be to scale. If that were true, why put a scale on the drawings at all? Why not add a note that says "See footing and pier schedule for locations of footings- drawing is not to scale and meant for general layout and reference only." @Magenta Lizard's calculations also seem to verify that the scale on the drawing is incorrect, that the lift is 300+ feet. Two different methods, two calculations, and similar results. I'll leave it up to you to decide if you'd rather believe ~200 ft or not. The diagram is real, it has been permitted. That is not in question. I am unsure why it is difficult to believe that the scale indicated could have been incorrect.

Tangent of 46° is 1.03, so for each foot of lift horizontally, it would be 1.03 vertically. Meaning a 300 ft length would be a 310' height.

@RuthlessAirtime @Bansheeback did either of you notice or ask if these plans have been approved? I didn't notice any kind of approval stamp on these.
-
So it is a prediction, nothing real. Good to have that clarified.
-
For now. It's possible the actual angle could be 46° or 44°, which would change things slightly. This is just an estimation based on an image.
-
Correct. I've double checked it with the detail that dimensions the footing at the base of the lift as well. Section 1/S3.3.

Sure. The program is called Bluebeam- it is used for marking up PDFs for construction and the like. I calibrated the program using the scale bar as-is, so when I measure anything on the document it shows me what that would be at the scale I've indicated. When I measured the footing and got 18", I figured that the scale must have been wrong. Recalibrating as shown on the bottom for the 40' of the scale to be 80', I was able to verify that footing was indeed 36"Ø and then used my now-calibrated tool to determine the length of the lift. Typically yes, the things in these kinds of drawings are drawn to exact scale. Looks more like a standard Arch D size to me, or 24x36. Only problem is, this drawing has all of the hallmarks of a document prepared in Revit- which would automatically reflect the scale of the drawing.

If that were true, then wouldn't that be just another Diamondback but taller/faster? I just don't get why both CF and B&M would take a step backward in terms of layout and the chances of going for a record/Golden Ticket award.

Ran this through Bluebeam. Scale is actually 1" = 40'-0". I did this by referencing the footing schedule which gave me the diameter of the piers. What is called out there as 36"Ø shows up on the plan as exactly 1'-6", meaning the scale was off. This means that the lift length is approximately 335' by my measurements. At a 45° lift angle, that means that the height would be around that same number. If anyone is interested in how I came to that conclusion I can post an image. And no, I am not an "Engineer Wannabe".

Same thoughts after riding the Blue side of Racer. Just looks like a lot of the brush has been hauled off. Doesn’t look any larger than it was. Have we ruled out a launched B&M? Doesn’t have to be a Wing, would love to see one that is normal hyper trains.

They just began startups. Heading that way shortly to see what I can see.

Can confirm. Definitely cut in half.

I tried the Brewhouse this weekend. I had heard mostly good things about it, so my younger brother and I went there for dinner on Saturday night. We moved through the line to order fairly quickly, I believe it was about 7:50 when we had our locator and sat down. We were not given a receipt, nor were we asked if we wanted it. He ordered the chicken tenders and I ordered a pub burger. It took 7-8 minutes, and he received his order. I did not. They did not take our table locator. His chicken was very burned/overcooked, and did not taste good. The tater tots were cold. He didn't want to wait on a supervisor or to be "that guy" that complains about the food on the second week of operations, so we let it go. I figured by food would be out shortly. After about ~30 minutes of still not receiving my food, I went back up to the register and asked what was happening (I could see plenty of people who ordered Pub burgers after me receiving them). The young woman at the register had to ask a server to get a supervisor from the kitchen. He came out and I told him I was still waiting on my food after we had received half our order. He asked for my receipt, which I did not receive, so I gave him my locator number and he went back in the kitchen to "check on it". No supervisors were out in the dining room, and there was a line of people at the register at this point just waiting to speak to one of them about various issues. Another 10 minutes went by (by this time it is 8:30). The supervisor that did eventually come out was not the same one as before, and he again disappeared into the kitchen to "check on it". A few minutes later I finally got the meal, delivered by the first supervisor. I was highly disappointed in the service and the lack of supervision/customer care. However, the burger was juicy and flavorful and the tots hot and quite good. That being said, I think I will wait a few months before returning.

I asked Alan Schilke last year at IAAPA if that was him. I was told it was not. In fact, he said it was insulting to Mr. Grubb that people thought that was him, as the gentleman in those photos was a bit older than he is.

Another 2019 refurbishment that no one is talking about
DeltaFlyer replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Noticed that yesterday! So happy to not have to look at gum, spit, and dried vomit while waiting there (for now). -
I’m fairly sure that was where the movers hung in years past. They were taken down last year when they set up the larger stage and trussing on IS.

9:33pm... still working on the clearing. Why the urgency?
