I agree that Kings Island could have more security guards roaming the park, and that would likely deter most violent incidents. However, once the fighting started yesterday, Kings Island really could not have done anything to stop it besides closing early.

So a violent group 16 and 17 year olds pose no threat, but 12 year olds do?

That actually makes sense. The Bat’s station could use some love. I would be glad if they give it a little TLC. Ideally Kings Island would add new theming to replace the removed Top Gun theming, but a repaint will do.

I would actually be surprised if they repaint The Bat. I have no problem with it, but other rides need a repaint more in my opinion. Cough. Cough. Diamondback.

I think Kings Island has been improving each week operations wise. Lines have been moving faster and almost all food locations have been open. Kings Island could have done nothing to prevent what happened yesterday. Let’s just hope an incident like this never happens again. I know Kings Island will now probably do everything in their power to prevent such an incident.

Has anyone here seen the new preshow? If so, how is it?

That’s another problem. Some of the trouble makers very well could have been 21 or over and been with younger teenagers that caused all the problems. I just don’t want Kings Island to start limiting operating days and hours because the problems yesterday were honestly not related to staffing. Staffing at the park could be better, but it is not too bad. They just need to get a few more food locations open.

If Kings Island simply hired more security guards to roam the park, I think that would make a huge difference. There already are some security guards that roam the park keeping an eye out for misconduct while also interacting with guests and asking how their day is going. Kings Island needs more of that in the park.

I think if Kings Island were to do this to teenagers now, they wouldn’t come back when they are older and bring their kids. A lot of parents grew up going to Kings Island with friends, and now they bring their families back. And their kids will eventually bring their kids back. A chaperone policy is just not the answer to combat fighting. Heck, Kings Island used to have a Grad Night where every high school graduate in the area had free admission. Kings Island just needs to enforce the rules. I hope they banned everyone who caused problems last night, so those people won’t cause problems again. I know some rides threw entire parties out for line jumping yesterday, and that is great because it deters guests from doing the same thing again. If the park has a zero tolerance policy, a lot of future fighting will be avoided.

What makes me kind of annoyed is that I have heard that Cedar Point is now pulling employees from other Cedar Fair parks. Kings Island should not have to sacrifice their employees for Cedar Point as it hurts the guest experience for Kings Island guests. I must add though that the rides don’t really seem to be understaffed. There are just a few more food stands closed than there should be. The understaffing is not terrible, but I hope Kings Island can find a few more employees, particularly in food, to better staff the park. They just need to open up those closed food stands. I also think that Kings Island may now be adding more available positions now that they are realizing the incredibly high demand. Kings Island announced this year that they would hire over 4,000 associates when they usually hire 5,000. Kings Island might now be realizing they need those extra 1,000 associates.

I am talking about people under 21 who want to visit Kings Island together. Not all groups of teenagers are bad. Some people under the age of 21 come to Kings Island by themselves, and not all of them are bad either. I just hope this doesn’t happen again.

Kings Island literally raised the price of a Gold Pass to as high as its ever been. While they extended 2020 Gold Passes into 2021, they didn’t have a choice. I don’t know how old you are, but have you ever gone to Kings Island with the some friends when you have not been over the age of 21? How would you feel not being allowed to attend? I don’t think many people would appreciate a chaperone policy even if it sounds like a good idea in theory.

I really don’t want Kings Island to do that. There are so many well behaved people who visit the park who are under 21. They shouldn’t have to pay for the actions of others. Kings Island’s attendance would plummet with such a policy. While some fights do break out at Kings Island, it isn’t very common, so I hope this is only a one time occurrence.

Trust me, Kings Island had no choice but to close lines early. They just needed to get everyone out of the park with so much violence and threats. I hope this is a one time thing though because I do not want to see Kings Island create a new chaperone policy.

For those of you who are at the park today, how are wait times? But more importantly, is the park staffed well? Are most food locations open?

Worlds of Fun also sees way less attendance that Kings Island. Kings Island, while they may be having staffing issues, is likely not experiencing them to the extent of Cedar Point or other parks in the chain. Kings Island has raised most starting positions to $11 while other Cedar Fair parks have raised it to more than that. I can’t say that this confirms Kings Island is not having as severe staffing issues, but from what so have seen, most food locations and shops have been open at Kings Island. Kings Island has been slammed with guests, but staffing has not necessarily the problem that caused long lines.

Worlds of Fun has 12:00 PM closings on their calendar for September and October. If Worlds of Fun ends up having Halloween Haunt with late closes, I think Kings Island will too.

I really don’t think Xtreme Skyflyer would look good in The Vortex plot of land. I don’t think it looks good in Action Zone. I think it is a really ugly ride, but that is just my opinion.

Maybe Kings Island is finally fixing Banshee’s lighting package. Just kidding, I doubt they would need this big of a crane for that.

While the May opening doesn’t seem to work, Kings Island usually opens at the end of April, so they could have Passholder Preview Weekend at the very end of April, and have the ride officially open in May on Opening Day. I am still not sure that Kings Island will be getting the new Gerstlauer coaster though. At this point, I have no clue which park will get it.

I don’t know. I guess Kings Island is still a possibility because I haven’t really seen any substantial evidence of land clearing at any other park. Kings Island does have an area that is already cleared, but it would be weird to see two coasters addd so close together.

I really have no clue what the crane is for. It is definitely for something though. Kings Island wouldn’t order a crane if they weren’t going to use it for something. We just don’t know what that something is. It could be something small or something big, and I guess we will just have to wait to find out what it is.

It really could be for anything. Maybe it is for a project for Kings Island 50th anniversary. Maybe it is just for building a new warehouse though.
