Here’s an idea: they can auction off the old Firehawk track to afford a few extra pieces of B&M track to make the giga longer! I am just kidding... they will probably get creative with it like Codyfryguy said...
-
I have been wondering... for those of you who attended Coasterstock, was there someone who asked about a giga? I am just wondering because I know that someone had asked this last year, and Mike Koontz gave an interesting answer!

Guys remember that no matter the length of the ride, Cedar Fair and B&M know what they are doing. I feel that this has really shown with Banshee and Mystic Timbers as Banshee’s inversions and Mystic’s elements seemed to have been really thought out and made for a great ride experience! And remember... the guy Cedar Fair has working closely with the manufacturers to design their rollercoasters, Rob Decker, absolutely loves Kings Island, per Banshee and Mystic Timbers’s Media Days. I know that Rob and Cedar Fair will do everything in their power to give Kings Island the best giga they can, and when you install such a world-class ride, it really makes the chain look good at the same time!

Honestly I don’t get the whole argument on how the giga needs to be over 300 feet and not just have a 300 foot drop. If it were me, I would take a 285 foot tall giga with a 305 foot drop any day over a 300 foot giga with a 290 foot drop. The longer the drop the better... you want a longer drop as opposed to a taller coaster with a shorter drop because everyone likes a good lengthy drop that seems to go on forever. Also, the longer the drop, the faster the coaster can go. I know that some people want it to be at least 300 feet tall for marketing purposes, but in the end, the length of the drop is all you will notice as a rider!

How were you able to get the pictures so close?

Keep in mind, if it is the transfer track, it will match up perfect with Diamondback and Banshee’s timelines...

I was thinking the same thing, and if those X’s are meant for footers, why would the maintenance or storage building be built on footers and not flat on the ground? I may also be wrong, so feel free to correct me!
-
Also, why would Kings Island keep all of the Firehawk land perfectly leveled, not to mention that it looks like they have cleared more land behind the original Firehawk plot of land, if they are only planning on using half of it per the “leaked” layout. This is what I mean... according to the leaked layout, this land is not supposed to be used at all for the new coaster, but it looks like they are keeping it perfectly leveled, seemingly for construction. All credit to Sixohdieselrage on Instagram!

The X’s look to be perfectly arranged in the pattern of the footers for Fury 325’s transfer track, but correct me if I am wrong...
-
Could the X’s on the ground be where footers are supposed to go?

I agree with you completely, but right now, currently four of Cedar Fair’s properties have giga coasters: Cedar Point, Kings Dominion, Canada’s Wonderland, and Carowinds. Kings Island’s giga would be the fifth in the chain. The other two parks that have gigas are overseas with one being a Morgan coaster and another being an Intamin Accelerator coaster.

In general, I think Paramount was pretty bad with ride investments. Most of the rides they put in were small-scale and clones of other rides, and when they did try to go all out, they went with the wrong manufacturer to get the job done! And what park makes a new flat ride (TRTR) their biggest investment ever? I think the 20+ million dollars they spent on TRTR would have been much better spent on a new large-scale rollercoaster. Coasters bring in attendance that flat rides never can!

I definitely think Kings Island has had a much greater money loss due to short-lived attractions than most other parks. If you think about it... between 2000 and 2002 alone, the park invested about 40 million dollars into Son of Brady and Tomb Raider: The Ride, and in the following years, they put another 10 million into Son of Beast repairs. That is roughly 50 million dollars worth of new rides investments, in which, the attractions only lasted about ten years each, respectively. Just think about what the park would look like now if that 50 million was put towards lasting coasters from B&M, Intamin, or some other high quality manufacturer and not put to waste. I really do that that Cedar Fair has vastly improved Kings Island’s lineup as they have put in some really great and lasting additions. I do not even know what the best ride was at the park before Cedar Fair took over, but it would probably still be The Beast which was put in by Taft.

If they just leave it with the grey primer, Kings Island will become the new Six Flags!

Has anybody been by Clermont Steel Fabricators lately? I just want to know what the color scheme of this ride might be! LOL!

I know some people do not think that teasers from the park would help us out that much, especially when you look at past teasers for Diamondback, Banshee, and Mystic Timbers, but if we get teasers like the ones at Carowinds last year, I beg to differ Remember... the teasers for Copperhead Strike last year hinted at the theme and gave straight up stats for the ride, both of which are unknown characteristics of Kings Island’s 2020 coaster
-
I find that odd, especially when they could have used the other 80% of Firehawk’s land to increase the size of X-Base or to add in those highly anticipated restrooms

I have seen Carowinds new coaster announcements before (not in person), and they are consistently worse than Kings Island’s new coaster announcements... i mean, who had the idea to announce the coaster before the announcement video played? I think the coaster announcement is planned by the park themselves, and Kings Island has usually been pretty good with them... It will be interesting, however, to see how Mike Koontz handles it because the 2020 coaster announcement will be the first coaster announcement with him involved as the previous ones had Greg Sheid... I do not know if the Antique Autos announcement tells us much about what the event will look like other than that the public will most likely be invited to attend like in the past!

I love how this thread has already turned into another RMC Son of Beast discussion!
-
While I do think the layout is fairly short, I feel like it could be a REALLY great ride experience and not have a single dull moment! Mystic Timbers is not the longest, but it never lets up! I may be the only one who thinks this though...
-
I just want a cool-looking logo!
-
I was looking at Shambhala, and it looks to be a very well received rollercoaster... the length looks to be fairly similar to that of the leaked layout of our giga coaster I think that the giga’s length does not matter as much as some people claim, but what matter more is if the layout feels complete... I say if it has a stellar layout, people will not be bothered by the length
-
I would like a launch on the giga coaster, but it makes no sense when you think of the coaster RIGHT NEXT TO IT!
-
Let’s say it is not a giga coaster, and it is some 200-footer... I am ruling out a dive, a wing, and all other CURRENT B&M coaster models as they all have some inversions in their layouts Maybe B&M has a new launch coaster model that is solely focused on air-time, and it could launch up the lift and complete the course around 70MPH I am not sure about you guys, but I would take a solid launch coaster over a mediocre giga any day, and since there would be no inversions, it could have lap bars and no OTSR Think about it... a 5000 foot layout is a long layout for anything that is not in giga territory, so the launch coaster would have the potential to be a long ride if it went around 70 MPH
