  1. I mean I'm really hoping you're right. Could you expand on why you believe that? Sorry for the double post, not sure why that happened.
  2. I mean I'm really hoping you're right. Could you expand on why you believe that?
  3. I wasn't here then, were people pretty bummed about MT?
  4. What's being discussed is the leaked layout, not the blue prints.
  5. Haha I also wanted to try and work a CoD joke in there, you beat me to it! lol
  6. Not at all. That kind of elitism some display is kind of toxic. Trust me, you aren't alone in the department of not being able to afford the luxury to travel for coasters. DB is a pretty great ride IMO, so I'm sure something taller and (hopefully) designed to be more intense will be a great addition to the park. Most of my hesitation, and I imagine many others here, is that we don't want the one and only Giga we're likely to get at our favorite park to be something less than what it could be. All of this really comes down to everyone's love of Kings Island, and wanting it to be one of those parks that people who love this kind of thing feel like that have to visit.
  7. I've never ridden Leviathan, but I hear it's incredible. I do hope though that they make this something unique, something you can only get at KI. Stats are one thing, but if this thing is going to be smaller than others, I feel like it really does need to pack a punch. It can't just be Leviathan, It needs to set itself apart. Just my 2 cents, but at the end of the day, I'm going to be in line for this thing as much as possible when it opens.
  8. Footer blueprints are definitely real. As for the layout, it's not confirmed but it seems that most here believe they are legit, but I have no idea myself.
  9. I really don't get this line of thinking. Cedar Fair owns BOTH parks. I really have a hard time imagining that part of their plan is to make certain parks worse than others. KI and CP will always have some attendance overlap, and I'd be willing to bet some years they draw from each other more than others. If anything, building up both parks with stellar lineups will help them to up sell to Platinum passes in our market. It doesn't really make sense to me that they'd build a "meh" Gigga Coaster intentionally in order to keep Cedar Point where it is in people's minds. A Gigga is going to make Kings Island the star of next season in Ohio regardless. They can't adjust the "Gigga-ness" like a dial to try and reach the perfect level of luke-warm hype to keep Cedar Point on top. At the end of the day, I think most of this hand-wringing about Kings Islands place in the chain is unwarranted. Kings Island is clearly a big part of the companies plans. It's in a perfect spot drawing from multiple city's and states, it still has plenty of room to expand in the future, and it's one of the most heavily attended parks in the chain. I don't think businesses think the way some of you seem to think they do. Cedar Point isn't going anywhere regardless of what they build at Kings Island, but Kings Island is CLEARLY being developed into something bigger than it was before IMO. On the topic of the ride itself, there are a lot of assumptions being made here that I just don't think we're in a position to make yet. If the ride sucks, we'll revisit this and maybe I'll change my mind, but until we actually know the details of this ride, I don't think we're in a position to be talking about how it was built on a shoe-string budget, or it's intentionally the "WORST" Gigga or whatever.
  10. This is a total spitball, but what if this was the first Giga with a launch? I ask because it does look like it might be a space themed coaster, and it would help it carve out it's own niche. I think this was brought up about 80 pages back, but just wondering if anyone has changed their mind on this?
  11. Hey now, like I said on r/rollercoasters they aren't building us a birthday present. I don't think we should feel ashamed to criticize what's actually shown to us. I am, however, skeptical that we have the whole picture. I'd be willing to bet there's more to this thing than we currently can see.
  12. You could absolutely be right as far as I'm concerned. I'm just saying there have been some people on this thread looking at what actual blueprints are available and doing the math. Whether they are right or not, I don't know, but some of them have made very detailed arguments.
  13. Yeah I really don't have any input based on the math, just not an area I can really contribute to here. @RuthlessAirtime and especially @fryoj (among a few others, sorry guys not sure who everyone is yet) have been doing a ton of calculations. I'd suggest going back through the thread and looking at what they've come up with. Some of it may disappoint you, but I think the one thing that's clear is no one seems to agree on the measurements, so I think we're in for a bumpy ride figuring this thing out, lol.
  14. People are going based upon the leaked layout. It's not available on this forum but is in other places on the internet (I'd suggest r/rollercoasters. Although I think it's incredibly stupid we have to direct people away from this site to view something like this) As it currently stands, there is NO WAY for anyone here to definitively state track length based on this layout, as no one knows what the features of the layout will actually be. It seems that assuming a straight (or nearly straight track) it looks like somewhere in the 4000's, but this isn't accounting for hills and other features. I'd hate to state the obvious here but I think we'll have to wait for an official announcement to get a real idea of track length.
  15. One can only hope you're right about this, but personally I don't think the layout was faked. Still though, I think we could be looking at something really amazing, but I do think we'll have to wait a bit longer to learn what all that entails.
  16. Spot on, for sure. I really do hope it's something generally similar to this.
  17. LOL! This guy, I like this guy
  18. No, I'm not saying its a fake I'm saying it's real and they leaked it to keep all the speculation from getting out of hand leading to a underwhelming announcement.
  19. I don't get comments like this at all. This is a Fan site for KI, but we don't work for KI. Keeping stuff like this a secret is KIs problem, besides its out there already. Can't put toothpaste back in the tube.
  20. I mean that's 100% true, I just hadn't seen anyone bring up that possibility.
  21. Has anyone else considered that the leak was intentional? Not to throw us off, but to temper expectations? It came very shortly after everyone was talking about the plans and how this thing was gonna be a 380 ft tall record breaker. Maybe they wanted to calm things down before it got completely out of hand.
  22. What? How did you know the park was ****ed at you?
